Ed001 have you and the other Eds any thoughts on a charity for us all to support this year as a thank you for the all the Eds free hard work throughout 2016?

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - I am going to suggest St John's Ambulance as this year's cause. They have done so much for so many, and many of us would never have been able to watch football without them in the past.}

Good post G62 and good charitable suggestion Ed001.

Respect to you both.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate, my nan and grandad were both volunteers all their lives for them, so it is close to my heart.}

09 Dec 2016 15:09:33
I second that ed. there are not many charities I care for but have a lot of time for St. John's ambulance.

Good choice Ed001 I hope all the club pages across the site get behind it and together we can help them out a little as a thank you to all the Eds.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate.}

What about a collection for a new Subaru for the raver as I've done plenty of charity work myself. Everytime there's children in need red nose day, text Santa I make sure me and the boys do a sponsored stay awake nights.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - your a charitastic do gooder raver...count me in..

09 Dec 2016 23:48:05
Raver
My old mate, staying awake Is easy, you lads should try staying in the champions league, pmsl
Ed when you get the charity money, let me know and, ll give you a cert to double it.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i have heard ducks fart before welsh, there is only one certainty in life mate...and thats spurs will never win the champions league.. :)

09 Dec 2016 22:28:43
How about a new mobility scooter for me 😂.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - sounds good to me sagalout, or we could convert a certain subaru which is now redundant in the wembley car park mate.. :)

10 Dec 2016 10:55:49
Ed I agree spurs will never win the champions league, the other certainty is Arsenal will never win one either.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - but if you had to back one raver it would have to be the arsenal mate..

09 Dec 2016 08:48:22
Here is one for you guys,
You have your 2 best players due to contract renewals, and you have just about X amount of cash, thise 2 players can make you decent amount of cash.
Now do you sell them and get fresh blood in the sqaud or do you splash all you have and keep the charisma high in the team?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

09 Dec 2016 09:18:53
Or to put it another way Moe do we want to go forwards or backwards?
Cashing in on Mesut and Sanchez would unquestionably be a huge step backwards while retaining them and adding to them would be a very big step in the opposite direction.
I doubt there's many if any fans who would celebrate more financial success at the cost of football success once more.

Agree0 Disagree3

09 Dec 2016 09:44:44
Gunner I disagree, if we sell and buy from the jumble sale yes but if we sell and buy from harrods, its not a step backwards. In fact all the top teams every so often have bit of decoration done. I would hope we have moved on from the van persie error, of selling and pocketing more than half and buying a one trick pony.

Agree1 Disagree1

09 Dec 2016 09:59:57
Steve I would rather stick that twist mate as I'm not to sure we would be looking for a 21 or a 5 card trick but be much more interested in becoming the banker.
While Mesut and Sanchez are in an Arsenal shirt there's no question of our assets being footballing ones if we sold them both for say 70 million could you really see Arsene even attempting to buy like for like?
I'd expect to have to kiss a lot of chamacks Poldolskis and Gevinios before we got another Alexis.

09 Dec 2016 10:21:35
Gunner he wouldn't dare go back down that road, he knows the wolves are waiting.

09 Dec 2016 10:23:56
Simple answer.
Bank manager say's yes.
Foot supporter say's no.

09 Dec 2016 10:29:53
Gunner if your wife wants to leave you for the bloke down the road, who has bigger biceps than you, better looking than you, more money than you and has more appeal than you, there's not a lot you can do about it but let her go and get another one who wants you for your interlect and charm.

Agree1 Disagree1

09 Dec 2016 10:31:21
We shouldn't be considering selling our two best players we should be thinking of buying top quality players to play alongside them.

They are in their prime not towards the end of careers.

Upgrade the players around them for me.

Agree0 Disagree1

09 Dec 2016 12:53:16
If we sell because we can upgrade then I am happy

My first choice is keep them and upgrade in other areas as continuity and ambition are key to me. Selling 2 of your best players is not a great message.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Dec 2016 15:27:32
If we sell we have to get a transfer record sum for either. I'd be inclined to sell and tip top younger blood in. Remember that if they sign contracts we have no sell on value.

09 Dec 2016 17:20:28
Does such a man exist Steve? :-) there's a very good reason I don't let the wife mingle with the outside world, I make her work from home and shop online, as far as she knows the street lights are still powered by gas and the milkman still has a horse.

Firstly, there's someone going disagree trigger happy lol.
Selling sanchez amd ozil for rues and aumbyang (spelling) wouldn't be too bad. But we will miss the creativity of the masut. In my opinion I would rather keep them as they know the way the team plays as they are the spin in our team along with cech and cos.

62 - funny, she told me he was hung like one. Still I struggled to hear as her thighs covered my ears so you could be right.

09 Dec 2016 19:20:21
Steve, tell gunner to be worried, I am the bloke down the road with the big moobs and i drive a Subaru.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Dec 2016 19:48:20
Ed I didn't put moobs in my post, with all the years I've served in her majesty's pleasure i'm like Anthony Joshua.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - more quentin crisp id say.. :)

09 Dec 2016 20:39:32
I would prefer to keep both but I certainly don't think both deserve the same deal. For me we should pay Sanchez what he wants but Ozil doesn't deserve quite the same deal for me and I just don't see him accepting less. Sanchez has become a go to man whilst for me despite his brilliance Ozil drifts in and out too much and just doesn't seem to change a fame anymore. So perhaps we keep Sanchez and cash in on Ozil?

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - if i had to get rid of one it would be ozil for me as well epping, but only because sanchez is the best player in the prem by miles mate..

09 Dec 2016 22:00:45
We have been stating we want World Class - we cannot loose them the first time we negotiate a contract. That stinks and shows we aren't a top club.

I'm going to be honest and say I was never a huge fan of Welbeck albeit he played better for Country than he did United at the time.

But for some reason I can't wait for him to get back, a potential front 3 of Welbeck, Sanchez and Walcott / The Ox feels like it could be pretty good.

No downer on Iwobi who has been great but Danny's work rate and ability could be key to protecting our left hand side in bigger games to come, that and his pace.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

09 Dec 2016 09:33:59
The few games Danny played last season he was excellent and would be a very welcome addition to the squad that's for sure but I just don't see him playing a big part if any this season.
He's had to long term injuries with only 4 or 5 games of football in between the two lengthy lay offs, I think he is going to need to be absolutely 100% before we should even think of playing him again.
What's his expected return date? February last I heard.

09 Dec 2016 09:46:18
The guy has that arsenal disease, he needs to get fit, stay fit and show us his potential.

Agree0 Disagree1

09 Dec 2016 10:00:26
He's due to start training in the coming few weeks so I was anticipating February when arguably the big games start, Chelsea on the 4th and next round of Champions League the week after.

I don't anticipate he scoring a shed load of goals 62 but hopefully making a difference with his other attributes.

Steve I don't know what his injury record was like at United but it could only happen here. On saying that Wilshere has achieved, so far, the opposite.

Agree0 Disagree1

09 Dec 2016 10:32:16
Red i think a fully fit Danny is ideal for our left flank I'm sure Monreal would be more than happy to have him there, its just a case of if he really is ready this season at any point.
Jack will be fit all season if he continues to play like he did against Liverpool and should attract a big offer from Wolverhampton Wanderers or the Chicago Strollers in the summer:-)

Agree0 Disagree2

09 Dec 2016 12:13:28
62 not sure if you've read it anywhere but Wilshere has been voted Bournemouth's player of the month so we must have missed something.

Loving the wanderers and strollers line mate. 😂😂😂

I'm just hoping Welbeck will get back ready to help out. It's Mertesacker getting back ready that worries me, bless him. 😱.

We have plenty of players we can sell to raise funds to extend there contract if needed.
Say we offer 200k but they want 250k. We can sell a few of Campbell, akpom, sangoo, Jack, jenks, debucey and even ramsey will more then cover it and top up our transfer kitty.
But this is common sense but the club would rather sell them and keep loads of players who won't make it.
