Here we go.

Talk shorts has stated that with Barcelona's ban lifted they are after Ozil for a measly £30 million. Ozil is class, but I also believe he thinks he's made a mistake playing in England. Is body language is a disgrace, players around him are always telling him off, even Per ragged him around last year for being a tool on the pitch and not respecting the fans at the end of the match. Do you think it has any legs on it and we could see the end of Ozil? I like him but i'm on the fence whether it would bother me if he left or not.

daywalker

1.) Cesc + 7 mill = Ozil and they can have him.

although with the type of players they have they would be better off, compared to us having cesc and then still needing to buy forwards to utilise another creative minds vision.

Cesc can score goals so that's a bonus.

The worst thing we could do is sell ozil even for the 42.5 million and then not buy the world class striker we need to take us forward.

also selling a player like Ozil will mean players like Cazorla may want out in the near future.

Its a conundrum. I would hope we keep ozil, I would hope barcelona keep cesc, so that way we can concetrate on a striker and they can go ahead and not buy a defender and buy another striker.

2.) 24 Apr 2014 13:39:39
I certainly hope he stays. Yes his attitude hasn't been right in some games, but there have been other games where I have felt sorry for him because he just hasn't had any runners to pick out. His last game before his injury was Everton in the FA cup and he was absolutely fantastic. I think if we can keep Theo fit, and sign a striker who can run in behind, then we will see the best of Ozil.

3.) If we had a striker that would run in behind instead of infront of the defenders it would complement ozils game so much better that's why we need a new striker

4.) Özil has to stay, he just needs players around him willing to make the runs he's always searching for, get a striker with some pace and you'll see the real Özil.

5.) People really need to stop berating players still in their first season. Oezil has clearly got some fitness work to do, but he needs a pre-season and time to adapt. People seem to be assuming that playing in a team that had to play 45 mins and then relax in Spain is the same as playing in a team that needs to play flat out for 90 mins.
Keep him, attract the top players to play around him and start to challenge. Oezil's form dropped after Ramsey got injured, they understand each other, he will gel with others given time
I wouldn't pay any attention to Talk rubbish, they have as far as I'm aware, NEVER been remotely close to what goes on at Arsenal, just a group of Manchester United and Chelsea fans with too much time on their hands.Wenger wouldn't break the transfer record to allow him to leave before getting a chance to build around and work with him (Unless he was 30 years old). rant over.

6.) Well said kermit

Ozil is incredibly reliant on hard running players and we don't have any when Ramsey/Theo are out, or when he and Ox aren't on the pitch at the same time.

He was fantastic at Madrid surrounded by Benz, Ronaldo, Di Maria, etc. who all run in behind constantly. Giroud is not that player, Santi isn't, Rosicky isn't, etc. Of course he's going to suffer.

I believe 100% that if Ramsey and Theo stayed fit, we would still be at the top of the table. Slate that if you want, but my point is that Ozil needs movement and we offered none for about 3 months straight

Ok, here is my 10 pence. People are believing we are going to sign a striker. Wenger has already come out and said Theo is to be played as a striker this season, which in theory leaves a door open for a winger. I believe and its just my belief Wenger is going for a winger and not a striker and going to have trust in Theo to be a striker. I believe the real target is Mahrez, which would have Theo/ Ox - Sanchez - Mahrez across the front three. That is my belief. Wenger will not pay the inflated prices for a striker and who can blame him. Just saying. Another point, players don't want to come to Arsenal (so they say/ read) I also believe that we are just as difficult to deal with as Lyon which the 'agents' like to steer clear from. Again Just Saying.

1.) 12 Aug 2016 09:38:53
Good job you're not Wenger otherwise it'd only be 9 pence. 😂😂.

2.) 12 Aug 2016 10:01:04
I think the clubs obvious lack of real ambition on the field of play might be putting one or two players off joining us, Ozil and Sanchez will leave next summer and who in their right minds that is capable of replacing them would consider doing so?
Why would any player with ambition join Arsenal? And they aren't the ambitious type why would we fans want them?

3.) 12 Aug 2016 13:59:30
He will play Sanchez before Walcott up top.

4.) 12 Aug 2016 14:36:14
gunner62,

you state that no player with ambition will join us, yet slate the fact that we are not getting or going after the top players?

you talk about or lack of ambition in the field and then mention in your next line two players that we have brought in recent seasons that surely show ambition?

Right, here we go. I've not posted on here for a long time. I've happily did a Malaga and sat in the shadows and watched this site. Frustrated at times with comments i have kept my keyboard away from me. However i'm slightly (ok i'm really) disappointed with 'some' arsenal fans (proposed) . The way they handled Arsene yesterday at the emirates was beyond disgraceful in my eyes. Do these Arsenal fans understand that we're being laughed at the way we treat the man who has made us 'progress', yes i said a swear word 'progress'! Some might say we're being laughed at because Leicester, a relegation candidate last year will win the league but we're 3rd in the league in front of 17 other teams and we're are treating our manager as if we're Aston Villa or Newcastle. I understand protesting is a way for 'proposed' fans to get their point across, but what actually does it prove/ change? errr nothing. Not a mystic meg but i will tell you what will happen, Wenger gets pushed out by the fans and then you will see what Wenger did at the club, we will be the new Crystal Palace. Then you will get the Wenger haters having amnesia spouting tripe as such as, "We should have kept Wenger". Please, please, please. Look what happened to Newcastle, Aston Villa, Fullham, look where they are now. Yesterday, Sanchez got subbed because Wenger could stiffen up the defence bringing Coq on, Wenger got booed, Sanchez wasnt happy, and obviously the booing would defend Sanchez being upset for being subbed so knowing the fans agreed with him he walks down the tunnel (hes not injured) . So with that display of affection for Wenger, wouldn't it make you as a player not want to be in that atmosphere? Sanchez is our best player, standard, but the diplay of these fans are only going to make the club go backwards. Think about it. You complain we don't spend the money, but what world class player in his right would want to come here when the fans act like that? If you were applying for a salesman job but you read on the internet that the customers hated the company and consistently slated it for different reasons depending on what day it was (Sorry but we/ you do bitch about anything) , you would think, mmmm i don't fancy working there. Sorry for the sporadic rant but its being building up. You want Wenger out, what Managers are out there? c'mon what manager can replace our Manager? Simeoni? Low? Pellegrini (really? ) who else or have i missed anyone? Out of those 3 possibly, and i'm being seroius when i say possibly Simeoni, but he's untested in the premier league and doesn't speak one iotta of English (neither did Pellegrini) , my point is there is no one to replace Wenger so its pointless trying to bully him out. To summarize, (if you're still here reading) we need to treat our team, players, badge, history and most importantly Arsene with respect. Protesting does nothing in my eyes except make the team go backwards not forwards, and advertise the next manager that this is what you will get for 20 years service at the club. If we come out next Sunday and play crap I wouldn't be surprised being mentally tortured by some fans of the club. I expect to get hammered by some or maybe all of my points but it needed to be said.

{Ed025's Note - i think you make some really good points daywalker and having your say is what this site is all about mate..you need to post more often imo..

1.) 01 May 2016 09:36:42
Never a truer word spoke from a passionate fan.
The real fans are bigger then the few Wenger out bully boys.

2.) 01 May 2016 09:55:08
welsh gooner

what gives you the right to say you are anymore an arsenal fan than the people who want change.

i have traveled to most parts of europe to follow a team i love

since when has freedom of speech been a crime

i take offence to your post.

{Ed025's Note - its just guys expressing an opinion malaga which is what its all about really, try not to take things personally mate as its only how different people see things..

3.) 01 May 2016 10:11:07
Very good post and Well said daywalker, I believe a change must be made, it doesn't have to be wenger although his time will come to end but maybe his stubbornness and faith he's given to some players. We are creating chances but we need some one to score them amd the defence need a little tweak.
The fans must stick with there team no matter what, look at Dortmund they struggled big and the yellow wall never turned any other colour.

4.) 01 May 2016 10:05:13
ed025, i'm all for people expressing opinions and respect some 1 elses opinion, because its what makes the site so great, but welsh gooner is out of order.

{Ed025's Note - its just his opinion as i see it malaga and not a direct insult to yourself, if i felt it was i would not allow it as i dont tolerate personal attacks on other posters, the tv showed a lot of discontent between factions in the crowd and there is a split within the supporters on how they want the club to proceed on the matter but it has to be done in the right manner, arsenal are a well respected club and are being shown in a very bad light at the moment mate..

5.) 01 May 2016 10:50:11
I don't see it that way Malaga he is expressing himself and has a right to do so as a fellow brother of our club.

6.) 01 May 2016 12:03:59
I think there is a division between the supporters because the club is stagnating and the easiest way for fans to show their frustration is to focus on the manager. One day there will be a change of manager, enforced or not and only then can we appreciate what Wenger has done for our club. I have no doubt that he loves our club but sometimes I just can't justify his excuses any more. I get the feeling sometimes that there is something going on behind the scenes at the club that we are unaware of, what that is I'm not sure of but it would explain the lack of ambition to improve our squad at the start of this season. I think the club has to recognise that other teams in the league are getting stronger and that in order for us to stay at a level where we can challenge, a new direction has to be taken, especially in our attitude where I feel our club has too many people comfortable in the knowledge that not much is expected of them but the bare minimum. If next season is to be Wengers last, I hope he instills a ruthless determination in the players and that they give him the success his loyalty deserves.

7.) 01 May 2016 12:14:06
Nice post DW

Couldn't agree more

Malaga man up mate, DW or Welsh didn't attack you mate they just said the banner boo boys are disrespectful which they are.

Wenger will be here next season then he's gone and should be shown a lot more respect then what's being given to him right now. Us fans need to support Wenger for one more season whilst he's here then he'll leave n we'll all see what a great manager he really was

Don't take things so personally people

It's opinions :)

8.) 01 May 2016 12:20:15
We are all entitled to our opinion and we have to respect others views. I have backed Giroud for months and got stick for it by a few. Giroud is bloody awful at the minute and yet still being played by Wenger, yet some of you who gave me stick are not having a bad word said about Wenger. How does that work.

Very good post by Daywalker but blimey don't ever say we will be like Palace, out 'pulling' power is far too strong. Villa / Newcastle or Fulham, not sure I get that either too be honest.

If Arsenal aren't going to change Managers and Wenger signs a new deal then its clear mediocrity is acceptable . We haven't progressed at all since moving from Highbury, we knew there would be some tough years but aren't we suppossed to be through those and now have money to spend and challenge? I do expect Wenger to see his contract out and after that I expect him to take up a new role within the club. Chelsea have improved since a change of Manager and IMO Liverpool will keep improving we are in a rut at the minute and it needs a bit of a shake up.

Daywalker mentioned about Managers not being able to talk one bit of English. look at Poch, he hadnt a clue about the Prem or our language, he has done very well and will continue to do so .

Just opinions and we are all entitled to them.

Have to say and I mentioned this yesterday the protest during the game wasnt a good thing and poor timing .

9.) 01 May 2016 12:49:55
Thanks Ed.

Malaga - chill out, you're acting like a Spurs fan; it was my opinion and not directed (unless you were one of the boo boys yesterday showing lack of respect) .

10.) 01 May 2016 12:52:19
Thanks Welshgooner - from a passionate fan to another.

Its official, Walcott and surprisingly Cazorla have signed new contracts. Source: Arsenal.com

daywalker

1.) 31 Jul 2015 12:55:10
This is great news for our club

Although the figure getting reported for Theo's contract is he'll be on 140k......hopefully that's untrue because in my eyes he has nowhere near earnt the right to get paid that amount.

Glad to have them both tied down :)

2.) 31 Jul 2015 13:20:09
Great to see Santi sign new contract, after rumours of a return to Spain. Ran the midfield for us last year, a great player.

3.) 31 Jul 2015 15:26:49
Jegooner, I see a few people feel the same way about his reported salary, but it baffles me!

We lost Ashley Cole because we wouldn't stump up the cash and people were unhappy with both the club and player, but he went on to win the Prem and the UCL.

If we'd of sold/released Theo and he'd gone to say Liverpool and knocked in 15-20 goals, people would be going nuts about letting him leave.

Regardless of his injury record, Theo's a very dangerous player, if we can keep him fit, now he's reaching his peak years, we'll have a very good player with us.

That's my penny's worth anyways!

But yeah, Santi signing is a cracking bit of news, along with Ramsey, Özil, Alexis and Koscielny, I really feel he's a player we just can't even entertain losing.

4.) 31 Jul 2015 15:39:50
Theo is the longest serving player currently at the club, maybe loyalty plays a part in that salary? Still a very high wage in my opinion.

5.) 31 Jul 2015 17:16:07
D-

I get what your saying mate but at the end of the day he ain't worth that, that amount is not far behind alexis and mesut n let's be honest he's not in there league.

Don't get me wrong he's a talented boy and i'm made up that he's signed with us again because like you say he can be very dangerous and joining another club (in the prem) would be a massive blow for us, the men upstairs did what they had to do to keep him so fair play.

Glad there onboard for our title fight :)

6.) 31 Jul 2015 18:35:59
I always feel like I'm being a tool when I disagree with people!

I do agree with what you're saying though, it is definetley a lot of money!
I guess it's just the footballing world we live in.

If Theo ends up being poor or having another injury, then I'm going to be eating humble pie!

7.) 31 Jul 2015 20:18:21
I'm hoping he gets deployed up top this season, he could just be that missing piece and we didn't know it, I think I've seen him play there about 7/8 times and in 3 of them he bagged 3 hatricks n got a couple goals in the others.

Complete oposite of giroud so it's a plan B (he'd be plan A for me) with mesut behind him that partnership could be deadly

8.) 31 Jul 2015 21:59:14
Agreed.
Believe it or not, I honestly believe Mesut is the most important key to success for us.

In the last few months of last season, we started to see what Mesut can really do.
The limelight was on Alexis and that meant Özil could go back to doing what he does best, being the creative force, not the one everyone's focused on.

If Mesut can develop an understanding with a striker, then we're going to have a hell of a season.

He's always thrived off having a mobile striker to work with.
Ronaldo/Benzema/Higauin at Real.
Klose/Muller/ for Germany
And by mobile, I don't necessarily mean quick, just ones that find good space, that they can use.
Giroud's just a bit too 'clunky' in that respect for me.
The ball has to come to his feet or his head.

Someone like Theo, or even Welbeck can have the ball played a few yards ahead of them and comfortably beat most defenders in a foot race!

21 Aug 2014 13:53:51
Oh noooooooooo! Liverpool have agreed Balotelli's 16m fee!! him and Danny Sturridge will be dangerous. I feel we missed out on this one

daywalker

1.) I'd sell him for 40mil no less than that or maybe a swap between fabregas but I think ozil has more market value but if we had ozil and fabregas that would be great

2.) 30 million euro's is what I read, and its more than BTV stating as well

3.) Id take fab and 30mil for ozil.

dont they owe us from when they got him from us? 25 mil I heard?

25m + 30m = 55mill

around 13m profit from ozil. however idk if fabregas would compliment us anymore, in terms of how we play

Ok, were you all watching a different game to me? don't just jump on the bandwagon, its the worst defeat, blah blah, 5-1 embarrassing blah blah. It was a possibility we could have done it, slim but a possibility. We were 1-0 up. A penalty shout, if it went in our favour 2-0 up. Our best defender, gives away a penalty however Lewandonski was offside so no penalty. Then ref gives a yellow and then changes his mind to a red! . We lost our shape as Kos is a massive hole to fill. Plus it was against one of the best teams in the world. Disappointed with Sanchez on many levels, you could tell he wasnt interested in the game, a bit mercenary like if you ask me as he gave Monreal no cover whatsover, and you could tell he just was not interested at all. And then seemingly smirking at the capitulation (it could have been a joke between him and Cech which just got caught wrong on camera however its hard to swallow at the time he was smirking) . Yes it was an embarrassing score, but that was only when the referee decided to change the game even more so. So comments like referee moaning has some validity to it as the referee and extra linesman had a shocker. And per usual you get the usual suspects saying Wenger should go because we were leading until we got a player sent off and most of our players were playing like tazmanian devils up until the referees ridiculous decision making?

Didnt get offended, its a banter site, an I just aired my banter that's all. Off the cuff, Falcao is on a reported £350,000 a week (RIDICULOUS), so i'm even happier we've got Danny Welbeck. £350K is ridiculous, for 1 game a week!! (If he makes it throughout the season)

. And yes a nerve was touched. Your post if i'm honest tipped me over the edge. I love Arsenal so i'm going to feel a little disgruntled when my fellow brothers, sisters and he-shes don't move in the same direction. I watch ssn last night and felt disgusted of all the commentaries that were going on, and it had to be Arsenal fans looked like yobos and when the announced that Welbeck didn't have a medical they cheered. Nice welcome home party. Apologies if you felt it was targeted at you, it wasnt, however I use this website more times than I use my bank account so I see all the posts of what people post. So jump off that little horse and let's have a man hug lol

And where does it state that they cannot agree based on wages? it could be the amount of appearances he wants, it could be not keen on the manager, it could be many things, don't always assume. It make me laugh how us Arsenal fans can turn so quickly on a coin, from liking to disliking a player.
