4 days to go. and watching to AFC official website and tv for an immenent big signing. is like watching paint dry. so to stop my boredom. I have compiled an alphabetical list of the players we have been linked with during this transfer window. of course I have used some first names to fill out the list. but 'Ed' let me know what you think . (but I can't think of any players with I, N, Q or T, in their first or last names)

Ashley Williams (enquired no follow up)
Benzema (pending)
Casillas (pending)
Di Maria (pending)
Edin Dzeko (enquired no follow up)
Fellani (enquired no follow up)
Grenier (enquired no follow up)
Higuain (lost to Napoli)
I
Jovetic (lost to Man C)
Kondogbia (possibly off to Monaco)
Luiz Gustavo (lost to Wolfsberg)
Mata (pending)
N
Ozil (pending)
Pedro Obiag (enquired no follow up)
Q
Rooney (pending)
Suarez (Liverpool not happy with our low offer)
T
Uchida (enquired no follow up)
Vicente Guaita (Valencia not happy with low offer)
Wanyama (lost to Southampton)
Xavi (every team would want him)
Yohan Cabaye (Newcastle not happy with low offer)
Zlatan Ibranimovic (Wenger always regrets letting this one slip)

Highbury Old Timer

1.) Players we were linked with

I - Isco (very early on before he went to Madrid)
N - Nani
Q - Quaresma (heard his name pop up once or twice)
T - Thiago Silva (linked a few weeks ago by some Brazilian journo)

Boom.

2.) You can put Cesar instead of Casillas and put Casillas in I as in Iker.
You can put Nani in N.
And Torres in T.
A for Q I don't think there is anyone we've been linked with.

Anyway very entertaining post. :)

Hi everyone....I want to know if someone can explain our transfer policy to me.
It's clear that Wenger will not pay for over priced players....but what would he have done if Cech was not handed to him on a silver platter and even then he was stalling over the price that Chelsea wanted.
Now to my main point...
Next year when the TV money comes in all the teams will have 100 million + to spend on players. This will push every players price up by at least 25 to 30%. So what will Wenger do.
And what ha happen to our scouting network that gave us some of our great players in the past.some of the lesser premiership teams seem to be scouting all the good world wide talent and we are being left behind.

{Ed002's Note - The leap in TV money will come in 2017.}

Time to bring a bit of fun. In the form of Where's Wally.
WHERE'S DIABY!!

I saw Diaby on the checkout tills at the local superstore.
But my mate said he saw him on tv as an extra in Eastenders

Highbury Old Timer

1.) He's working as a researcher on 'casualty' apparently he is highly qualified!

2.) The wife said she saw him in casualty. that's the tv version. I think he'd pulled a muscle in his ear.

3.) 21 Dec 2014 12:25:45
The last I heard, he is working in a Garden Centre, supergluing fishing rods into the hands of the Gnomes.

Apparently, off sick as he ruptured his hamstring getting the top off the superglue.

Spoke to the manager though, and he has offered him a new contract.

Nice bloke.

{Ed001's Note - I believe the manager said he would only get the contract when he is fit didn't he?}

4.) 21 Dec 2014 14:22:08
Correct Ed,

As you said, "When he is fit".
Thats the big problem mate.

Consulting Owen Hargreeves on how to skive off work :P

Oh dear another poor performance from my beloved team.
There seems to be no direction no heart no determination and in some players no fight.
Every team looks dangerous against us.
Every team has our tactics worked out so are able to stop us from playing football.
What makes the Stoke result worse is they told us what they were going to do to us a few days back and we still had no answer to them.
I remember a time were we used to control games. We now seem to be chasing the game.
I would say 20% of this is down to the players, ie; we have too many mediocre squad players who would never get into any of the top sides and we only have 4 or 5 players of real quality but confidence is low.
Our defence is on par with a mid to bottom table team.
Wenger has to take at least 50% of the blame for this because he bought these players and gave them ridiculous wages.
The board must take at least 30% of the blame because they have not put any pressure on Wenger to win the title or Champs league. They are just happy with getting the revenue.
I've noticed that all the premiership managers have grey hair due to the stress and worry of the demands that their board put on them for results.
Wengers hair is grey either because he is old or he has dyed it to look like a silver fox.
Wenger this transfer window is your last chance. Please don't let all of your great memories fade .

For some reason Ed does not print my posts.
They are not offensive they just tell the truth.

It is time for Wenger to step down.
He was great for us in the past when his football philosophy was new and fresh. But now every team now how to play against us because we are using the same format as we did 15 years ago but with slightly lesser players.
Man for man we have better players than every team except City and Chelski but why can the other teams managers get better performances out of their players and get them to defend like devils where Wenger can't get the same level of performance from our better players.
Why is it that every game we leave 2 on 2 at the back, we have the tallest but slowest CB in the division, ' monorail' only has one way of playing and that is c**p, no wonder we conceed so many goals on a counter attack.
Pundits and experts were saying years ago that we don't have a plan B. It's true we still don't have a plan B.
Wenger is too stubborn to change and every other team has worked him out, this is why he has to go.
But the worse thing about this is that it is only a few things that need to be changed in our team and we will be back on track again but Wenger will not change his philosophy for anything.
Also he is under no pressure from the board so why would he change.
My wish for a new manager is Klopp but that cannot happen until the end of the season, by that time we would have finished outside of the top 4.
I do believe we have the players to mount a better challenge we still have over 75 points to play for. Wenger either change your ideas or leave.

Dear Santa
I want a top defender in a big red truck.
I want the best holding midfielder in the latest superhero costume.
And I want my team to win lots and lots of trophies.
And also Santa I don't want the naughty team from down the road to win any more games.
I hope that's not too much to ask as I have been good all year

This has been going on since Wenger broke up the invincibles.
He has no defensive awareness. Other than Campbell and Kos what other top quality central defender has he brought in TV5 was hit and miss and had too many injuries.
I truly think it's time for this man to step down because his ideas and philosophy at first were brilliant other teams have looked at that and have improved on it and moved past us. Poor Sanchez what has he let himself in for.
Every team look dangerous when they attack us why is that .
We all slated the Ginger tw@t on when he said years ago that Wenger used to be good but now he ain't.

Many of us have been blinded to this due to the love of our club

Excellent post.
Also other teams try to stop us with a lot of rough house treatment. When have you ever seen an Arsenal player rough up an opposition.
JW has tried but ends up injured. And Flaminni is nothing short of a headless chicken but better than Arteta

Yes Ozil is playing out of position.
But surely he is a good enough player to put in better performances than he is currently doing.
We do not know if their is a problem with him mental or physical
Maybe he has problems at home his misses may not like London.he needs to sort his former out quickly because I feel some of the faithful will get on his back like what happened to rambling a few years back
