3 mil for jenko. Going to Hull as it stands although W-Ham might come in. Sad for the guy as he is Arsenal through and through but he has never been up to the standard we need!

Nozza

1.) Hope wherever he goes he has a great career genuine man

2.) £3 million for Jenkinson to Hull? He wants to stay in the capital. with West ham most likely. AW is being clever. letting potential suitors up the interest so he can go out on loan to the Hammers or push through a swap for Diame. whose contract is soon to run down! Would mean we can sign Khedira on a free for next season! Jenkinson is still part of long term plan even if used as leverage to sign someone else!

Alexis Sanchez agent starts following Arsenal and numerous players! Interesting :)

Nozza

1.) 04 Jul 2014 12:24:08
I did that also the other week. Am I joining?

2.) Not saying he is joining but the timing is a little odd! He hasn't added another players/teams recently!

3.) Maybe he is trying to expand his quality players as an agent, let's face it no better place to headhunt top players if you an agent =]

Nozza

1.) Welcome to Arsenal Ozil. See you in 3 months -_-

2.) That's a funny reply :-), not very nice but got to admit funny all the same

Below is a letter Arsenal are sending to fans who raise concerns about our lack of transfers/ambition:

'Many thanks for your email. We understand and share your disappointment that Arsenal Football Club plc have not secured any acquisitions on players for the new season.
'In terms of our dealings in the transfer market, we can assure you we have been working hard throughout the summer to bring in additional players and this will continue until the end of the transfer window.
'We are clear that our ambition at Arsenal is to compete for and win trophies. This ambition is shared by our majority owner Stan Kroenke, the board, Arsene Wenger and everyone who works for the Club.
'I take this opportunity to thank you for your continued and valued support of Arsenal Football Club plc.
'On Behalf of Arsenal Football Club.'

Nozza

1.) Oh they forgot to add, keep coming & supporting, I have a big RANCH that isn't cheap & dividends to pay out. MUGS

2.) Writing out that letter is probably the hardest work wenger and the board has done all summer

3.) I sent a email that went over many different aspects of how the club is run.
Including ticket prices, ambition, management, finances and transfers. Then I received the same email. If you want to read it just look at my last 5 posts in banter section. I warn you its a long read.

4.) Do stan ever go to any of the games, I think he went once after he took over. I don't want us to be run like Chelsea but at least Roman forces the managers to bring players in or he buys them him self, I mean what does stan do? usmanov in

5.) Kronke is an investor who owns or has holding in other sports "franchises", he is not an owner who will take our club forward.

Not a signing as such! But we have secured the services of Germanys World Cup winning fitness coach Shad Forsythe! Great move by Wenger. Injuries are always our downfall in Feb/March! Maybe he can introduce some new methods to manage these better!

Nozza

1.) Where have you been all summer Zarathustra?

2.) This happened before the worldcup.

3.) 05 Aug 2014 18:04:21
And we're close to signing Alexis Sanchez as well! :')

4.) 05 Aug 2014 20:09:59

Hats off to Amano! Seems to have got the Chambers deal 2 days before we did. that's what we like :) Great posting!

Nozza

1.) Cheers mate, should hopefully be able to shed some light on the Schneiderlin situation in the next couple of days. However for the moment its not looking like good news.

Arsenals "war chest" is growing each day with 5.5M from Cesc and the apprent 8.8M from Vela's release clause we are up to 110M.

Arsene needs to spend this wisely throughout the squad and spend big! I expect 1 or 2 30M + signings and the other 50M to be used on squad depth. We need a worldclass CDM, CB and striker (minium).

This season we have no excuses. We have the money and the players to attract the best. Arsene. pull your finger out and deliver!

Nozza

1.) Guardian reported earlier - Real Sociedad have signed Vela to a new contract and paid us £8.8 million + £4 million performance based to get rid of the buy back clause.

We going to get someone big I can feel it!

2.) Add to that fees for peripheral players such as Monreal, Vermaelen and Podolski whom Wenger might now consider as surplus to requirements and the kitty can rise by another £20 million. Personally I hope Podolski could be used either this summer or next as a bargaining tool to secure Draxler.

3.) Talk of spending £100m is nonsense. We have had huge cash reserves for ages and Wenger didn't choose to spend. in the last two windows we spent £42.5m on Ozil & approx £400,000 on Sanogo. The other signings were Flamini on a free and Kallstrom on loan. Taking into account the sale of Gervinho and any other lower prices sales that I can't recall, we probably only laid out around £30m in two windows, so to expect Wenger to spend over a £100m in one window, is pure fantasy. Don't forget around this time of year we are always linked with top priced players, which don't come to fruition, bar Ozil.
I expect a maximum net expenditure of £30m, at a push £50m.

We are looking at Norweigan keeper Orjan Nyland, who won't be costly. Possibly Serge Aurier at around £8m, to replace Sagna. If Vermaelen departs we will spend no more than we receive for him.
We have loads of midfield options, so I don't expect any signings unless we sell. So a star forward such as Balotelli may be on the cards, although I doubt it will be Balotelli as he will be too expensive taking into account the likely transfer fee and wages. We will also welcome Joel Campbell to the club.
Wenger actually said he is looking to make 2 or 3 signings, so a keeper, a right back & a forward seem obvious, with possibly one more if Vermaelen goes.

Wenger. Buy Cesc! Yes we have lots of players in that posisiton but every year we get lots on injuries in that position. Being a top top club means you can replace an injured player with a world class replacment, not a Diaby or Zelalem! Buy him now before its too late! Mark my words, we will get to Jan, Feb, March get some injuries and fall out the title race again. We need a big squad, with big players to fight for 4 trophies this year. Cesc is a home at Arsenal so will need no time to settle! Simple decison Wenger!

Last night was appalling! We had a massive chance to gain our confidence back and to go top of the league again. I don't think anyone thought that would be possible at the beginning of the week but Chelsea drawing was our chance. We could have cemented our top 4 finish, relegated Utd to Europa league at best and really pushed on for the title.

Instead we played with the handbrake on and offensively we were poor. I'm struggling to work out what Giroud brings to the team? (apart from mimicking a wall for our players to pass against). I don't hate the guy, he works really hard for the team. He just doesn't play the game in the right places. He drops in deep an awful lot and wants the ball to feet. However his touch isn't great and a lot of the time he gets the ball stuck under his feet. On the rare occasion he lays the ball back to one of our players he does not have the pace to spin and get into the box and cause problems. Another thing he regularly does is to pull out wide and lay the ball off down the line. I understand that he wants to be involved in the game, that's great. But when he pulls wide and Sagna or Gibbs or whoever gets down the wing we have no one in the box! It's pointless, utter rubbish and one dimensional football.

Now on to Wenger. Tactically he has lost it. I know the Lpool game was a freak result and I'm sure it won't be the same this Saturday. However we played the same game we have played all season and teams are working out how to beat that now. Sit back, 10 men behind the ball, absorb the pressure and Arsenal will eventually try the killer 3 yard pass. Intercept it and break with pace. It seems like he cannot or just won't adjust our style of football when needed and its costing us now! We need a plan B when plan A doesn't work and we really do not have that. In my opinion plan B should involve pace, directness and shooting. Three things plan A doesn't. When we need a goal, we just pass, pass, pass the ball around the opposition box and get nowhere. No one shoots, except Santi on occasion. The worst thing about playing like this is how susceptible we are to counter attacks.

Onto last night's game. Beginning of the second half and you see Ferdinand coming onto the pitch to partner Vidic. What were your thoughts? Immediately I thought we need pace, someone who is direct and will run at those two. They are both great players but both have lost their speed and hate running back towards their own goal. What did Wenger think? Nothing for the next 25 minutes it seems. Where was Gnarby? Where was Poldo? Where was the Ox? Ok the Ox eventually came on but much too late to make an impact.

Wenger has said this morning the team were "nervous" and did not want to lose. I think he was just as nervous and therefor refused to make positive changes until it was too late. I have real fear for our club if Wenger gets his 3 year extension. It seems that flirting with a trophy and falling away in the last few months is acceptable and now the norm. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Wenger out! I'm saying Wenger change!

It is plain to see that we needed a striker in Jan. Wenger says it's hard to get the targets you want in Jan. I agree it's probably harder, possibly a little more expensive but I look at "Roman FC" and "Mansour City". They can do it. Even Utd took Mata off a rival club. Arsenal, we sign an injured midfielder and that's it. This was our best chance in years for the title and he just couldn't change his ways and give it a real go. Its poor management (wenger), its short sighted (again) and it's not going to change while Wenger refuses to adapt and move with the times.

Rant over, I feel a bit better now!

Nozza

1.) I have to say I totally agree. Good post.

Arsenal will probably use Farnborough airport. Quite close to London, private and large enough that you can decide to land with little notice. Chelsea use it all the time now. Malaga you do make me laugh. Who tells you these things? Your HP sauce?

Poldo, Theo? and dare I say it Bentner! Cover everywhere once Verm, Arteta, Diaby are back. Plus a keeper. Not the 2-3 more players I wanted but enough until Jan!

Agree fully. I don't quite understand the logic. It was always going to piss off NCL and Pardew is a man who you don't want to get angry. Might cost us another target.

Hig is quality, we wouldn't pay the money. Suarez is quality, we paid £1 over what we thought was needed. If we didn't pussy foot around and went in with 50m we would have him. Gustavo, very good (what we need) we wouldn't pay the money. My point is if we won't pay more than £1 over what we think is reasonable how are we going to go and sign 3 players in the last days of the transfer window. We all know the prices go up as the window nears. Teams are reluctant to sell the best players as they know they will be charged through the roof for a replacement. Do you really seeing AW spending what clubs will demand now? No, he will be priced out of moves and we will end up with the next park, santos, squalatchi. We will then spend the next 3 years trying to move them on to save the 50k wages they get paid! JOKES
