Reports of a spotty ginger haired 9 year old sobbing his eyes out, sitting in his mummies clapped out rusty Subaru on Wembley High Road, which has run out of petrol.
Big thanks to the toot who completed my accumulator, wads in the bank and great fun watching a dire toot performance at thier home of failure. 1961, yes 1961!

Mind the gap deluded one, I had to laugh at your post this morning praying for a draw at Chelsea tomorrow lol.

Raver61 - Just watched the toot v swansea again, best 0-0 draw for a long time. We may well lose tomorrow, but least it's against the current league champions. Just imagine we draw or win and more tears in the back of the nasty old Subaru. At least your mummy will be in the back with you, cuddling her little boy, whilst you are sobbing 'if only dad had been a gooner, not a loser from the lane. and Wembley'. 1961.

I hope you do draw R. G. as you'll still be looking up at us and we are still on Chelsea's coattails, the only woman I'll be cuddling up to tomorrow is that gorgeous wife of yours lol.

Is this the season that the best managers in the premier league pull away from the rest leaving 3 teams, spuds, pool and us fight it out for the other spot. It's early but man citeh and chelski look like battling it out for top spot.

I wouldn't rule out Man U! So Man U, Man C and Chelsea for 3 places, which leaves us and Liverpool fighting it out for the 4th spot. The toot had an easy start to the season, except for the Chelsea match, and they look poor, not a home win in three, despite playing two of the weaker teams, Burnley and Swansea. They don't look as strong on a bigger pitch and away from their awful corrugated excuse for a stadium.

16 Sep 2017 20:15:28
Rg leaves you fighting for 4th lmao, you were embarrassed by Liverpool, then lost to lowly Stoke and were lucky to beat Leicester. I wouldn't call your start to the season tough games either deluded and boring R. G.

16 Sep 2017 20:31:18
It was always going to be that way Steve mate and if Spurs don't join the title race they will nailed on 4th, the top 4 are out on there own above the rest and personally it is only a matter of weeks before it shows.

16 Sep 2017 20:35:12
Rg I didn't rule out man utd, they were one of the top three teams. I just think citeh and chelski will be 1,2.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Sep 2017 21:28:57
I said before a ball was kicked Steve utd will be champions and Spurs city Chelsea will make up the top 4 while us Liverpool and Everton fight out the europa league places.
Early days yet but those 4 teams are in a league above the rest. Spurs and kane never start well but once they hit their stride they take some knocking out of it.

Gunner, Wembley will be like a shackle to them, it's in their minds and their fans, they will be in our battle. Champs league and prem and Wembley will be too much. We can at least shuffle our pack, they can't, it will impact on their season. I'm afraid their big chance was last season and the season before.

Oxlade must be loving life at Liverpool. Three matches on the bench and £120,000 in lost wages.

It's interesting that so many Arsenal fans wanted Klopp to replace Wenger, so far two seasons and zero trophies and they are stuck with him until 2022!

Another choice was Koeman and if heavily defeated against United, Everton could fall into the bottom three.

Eddie Howe another choice is sitting one off the bottom with Bournemouth.

At times I freely admit that I have called for Wenger's head, but I often stated that we would need a top quality manager and at the time none were available. Many people disagreed with my choices Mourinho, Ancelloti and Allegri, who aren't doing too badly. After our terrible performances against Stoke and Liverpool I wanted Benitez, again many fans castigated me, but I felt he was the only decent manager we could have appointed at the time and he has managed a very impressive 4 place with Newcastle.

Hopefully I'm wrong, but a poor performance and a defeat tomorrow will place Wenger under enormous pressure.

Don't want Pep, never wanted Klopp and would be upset if I had to watch Jose manage our team

Ancelotti all day long if available - he's been my number one choice but not been available I guess

Fingers crossed and would like Wenger to win silverwear before he goes but the leaky defence will ultimately cost him.

Man City are playing some very exciting football. As good as Man U have been this season, for some reason watching them is not even in the same realm as watching a full flow Man City side.

It's like chalk and cheese, Pep really does get his teams playing some wonderful stuff unlike that utter twonk Mourinho.

Mourinho resorts to kicking and long ball if things don't go to plan. I'd really like to stove his head in. W⚓️.

It is very seldom that prior to playing a match I would take a draw before a ball is kicked. Unfortunately, tomorrow is such a case, unless Wenger selects what I consider to be our strongest team and defends deep, abandoning his suicidially high defensive line. I can''t imagine what damage Hazard, Morata and Pedro will inflict if we defend the halfway line!
Selection-wise, Cech in goal, a back three of Mustafi, Mertesacker and Koscielny - No Monreal please. DM - Elneny and Xhaka instructed to play deep, with the prime objective of protecting the defence. Wing backs - Bellerin and Kolasinac, instructed to concentrate mainly on their defensive duties. The remaining three players would be Ozil and Sanchez, with Lacazette up top. I seriously considered playing Ramsey or Wilshere (yes Wilshere) in place of Ozil, except Ozil had a successful international break and hopefully he can bring that form back with him, although as I write I am still in two minds about playing Ramsey.
Thoughts fellow gooners?

Personally I expect a thrashing and another Arsenal meltdown but let's see what happens because I expected that in the cup final too, the Liverpool game suggests things are still very much as they have been for years at Arsenal let's see what happens tomorrow.
A draw would certainly be the first step of a long very long journey if the current manager and team ever hope to win back any real credibility outside of the 50% of Arsenal fans that comes for free regardless of effort or performance.

I think everyone would bite your hand off for a draw.

Agree0 Disagree1

16 Sep 2017 12:20:32
I'll be pleased with a draw tomorrow too.
Our lack of defensive cohesion worries me and I fear that Chelsea will exploit Mert's weaknesses (dire pace and age) . Defensive stance by the wings and midfield (whoever that is) will be crucial because Chelsea can score by the handful and I don't see us as able to do the same at the moment.
That being said we have the right players to hit Chelsea in counterattack, question is whether the manager will set up our team accordingly. Sort of pitiful that we have to wonder about his tactics at this point in his career with Arsenal.

16 Sep 2017 12:50:31
I very much doubt Mertesacker will play tomorrow. I think it will be Monreal kos Mustafi.

16 Sep 2017 13:12:10
This season Mertesacker seems to be only nominally part of the first team. 62 I don't see him playing too much at all unless there is a major injury problem. Probably better that way, his prime is well behind him and he seems injury prone himself.

16 Sep 2017 14:30:27
I think Mertesacker behind Xhaka and Ramsey is making life easier than it has to be for Chelsea Cat mate, it's actually difficult to come up with an effective looking line up and formation from our squad that does look capable of getting a result.
The FA cup happened so there is always a chance but at the bridge it's a tough for anyone Utd City Spurs included.

Another good article Ed001 mate, I think bond has called the Liverpool result correctly this time and Ed's 033 and 025 must have been out on the town last night if they think Liverpool will keep a clean sheet :-)

{Ed001's Note - I am not sure Ed025 knows what a clean sheet is!}

Ed001, are you saying we need to take up a collection for his adult nappies?

{Ed001's Note - defo, at his age he can't go through the night unfortunately. It is sad to see how age catches up with us all.}

I was hoping you were going to say no. Now I'm left with a very disturbing mental image! Thanks, I guess?

{Ed001's Note - glad to help. If you have seen the first Blade movie you can easily picture Ed025 as the keeper of the vampire records was based on him.}
