If we are to get a striker, who would you go for. Huguain, or morata.
I would like dybala but juve won't sell
lewandowski Unrealistic, maybe huguain too. Aumbyang (spelling) will be eyeing Spain real madrid.
I think morata is very decent and always in the right place in the box, watched play many times.

If you're talking young strikers then I'd agree with Dybala and Morata. I'd also throw Breel Embolo into the mix. If you're talking someone a little more senior (not by much) then Lacazette.

I'd also like either Daniele Rugani or Niklas Sule in center back.

Gaya in at left back and Johannes Geis in midfield.

I think we need a striker who can find the back of the net blind floded such as huguain, which I would love if we get him, but morata is a really good option in my opinion.
Centre back rugani did a brilliant job for juve this season not sure they will let go.

Moe do you think it's worth trying Olly with a blind fold? If it works for Higuain why not :-)

19 May 2016 09:51:04
Hahahah g62 mate, Olly can hardly do it with his eyes open lol. And as for higuain I might have a wet dream if we signed him. :-)

{Ed025's Note - i dont think hes that attractive moe.. :)

Higuin looks old. I'm still not sure about the guy . But I'm still not sure about giroud. Really do we keep giroud he is a type of striker with good skill. I would love him to stay as a no2 because he is good a what he does. I want a pacy striker aubamayang would be my choice.

Hi to everyone. Not been on for a while now but enjoyed reading everything as usual.

In a way I'm glad the season is over and feel really frustrated along with everyone else. We should have done better of course but if we think that every team had a bad season then we at least were not as bad as the rest bar Leicester.

There is a lot of talk about how many points etc. gives an idea of how well we have done. Well I was bored and had a little play around with averages. Sorry if this gets boring.

since we last won the league average for league winners in the last 12 seasons is 87.5 pts and 2nd place 81.4

If we look at the 6 biggest clubs over the last 12 seasons you get the following, ManU 80.75, Chel 79.33, Arsenal 73.66, Liv 67.5, ManC 64.8, Spuds 62.5.

If you then look at the averages over the 6 seasons that City have been a proper force then it looks like, ManC 78.16, ManU 76.33, Arsenal 72.66, Chel 71.5, Spuds 67.66, Liv 62.83.

And if we look at the 3 seasons since Utd won the league, ManC 77, Arsenal 75, Chel 73, Liv 68.67,Spuds 67.67 and Utd 66.67

We have actually been improving. So just maybe if get the right 2 or 3 players, our shooting boots on, teach them how to use both feet, the improvement will go on. It's not as bad at the moment just very frustrating knowing we are just a gnats away.

Sorry if this had bored the pants off you and if so I will never post again. I'll just enjoy the sun and look forward to England beating France in the Euro Final.
I mean We have Kane and they have Olly.

Estepona goner.

Raver, even though I love to see your mob suffer I have to admit that I have been very impressed with what Pocahontas has done this season and the names you've mentioned.

I will also be cheering every touch they take and goals they score in the Euros.

Fair point estepona, international tournaments are a funny thing players you normally hate with a passion you like for a few summer weeks and come August you hate them again.

Hate is a strong word raver, you might dislike player for the reason they play for our rivals. At the end of the day there is nothing personal.

Good post EG mate well done for those stats, some surprising and interesting bits in there mate.
Welsh Arsenes stats are super impressive if you like your football with lots CL participation and all that title challenging nonsense isn't your kind thing at all.
Change ends pleae, Welsh to serve :-)

Can Wales do what Denmark and Greece did and stun Europe? Why not!
In my opinion there is no that stands out as red hot favourites as Spain have in the recent past, yes Germany are world champions but they've looked very beatable since Brazil.
You can't rule anyone out completely, well exempt England maybe :-)

Hi guys been a long time since I visited this site. It's clear that a new striker is the priority for Wenger. What realistic options are we considering? Personally I'd like to see us sign Lukaku. The amount of goals he got for Everton was impressive, he's still young, wants champions league football and has premier league experience. Does anyone see us going in for him? I think the valuation may be the stumbling block.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

18 May 2016 10:59:40
Is it clear that's his priority? I'm quite certain a CB Is his priority.

18 May 2016 11:15:19
i read somewhere that quite a few clubs are after him and with new ownership at Everton, i don't think he will come cheap. 80-90 mill easy.

id rather we try for

Morata
Dybala
Icardi

not likely we will land any.

but lucas perez has been bandied about with arsenal.

Blimey Laker are you his agent lol

Half that and maybe and then that is generous.

it doesn't look like lukaku is an option at all we are 40/ 1 odds with to sign him, liescter are 33/ 1 not sure why we are such long odds, must of shown zero interest whatsoever!

Too simaliar a player to Giroud for me. although he is better than Giroud. Not the type of striker we will be looking at i wouldn't have thought.

Steve,
You asked me if I thought we have improved this season?

In all honesty, possibly not.

We upgraded our keeper, but not our defensive frailties.
We always have the ability to concede goals even after total possession for previous 20 mins.

Our midfield will always chop and change, mainly due to the usual injuries to the usual players.

Too many players playing out of position or 'not happy' in that position, due to aforementioned injuries.

I like Giroud, always have, but he scores goals in gluts as opposed to a consistent level (ala Aguero) .

Our biggest problem however, is too much tika taka football and no 'real' plan B.

Also, we are too pedestrianised (compared to 'invincibles team', again due to tika taka football and we are too predictable, again due to tika taka.

We need to hoof it once in a while and get more players in the box, as opposed to hanging around the box looking for a pass.

We need to shoot more. In fact, we need to shoot, full stop.

I think our last goal scored outside the box was by Graham Rix, I may be wrong.

Apart from that, we have improved.

Solid post Dags - let's hope 2-3 signings plus the maturity of a couple of the kids gets it done. This Adelaide looks awesome and hopefully Bielik is ready to pitch -in.

Do you see a future for Chambers? Sure started strong!
