Top result today, well happy.

My boy Elneny looks good :-)

To my suprise he does indeed, along with Le Coq we have we have a strong central midfield pairing.

Cant fault him so far. Both him and iwobi have brought some size into the team in midfield, only about two months too late, well 12 years really. Stubborn wenger falling onto it too late as usual. Where does he play when caz is back.

Next seasons premier league already looks set to be a cracking season in the making
After Liecesters example this season every one from Bournemouth to Palace and Swansea to Stoke will think the champions league is achievable ( I'm sure their fans will) City will have Pep and have everything to prove while Klopp will have a full season Poch will be under pressure to make top 4 absololute minimum Utd will most definitely have a new meager as possibly will Everton if Martinez doesn't win the FA cup AND of courss it will most probably be Arsens last season as our manager and the last chance for the players he's stuck by and stood up for so long to finally prove him right to do so.
It has the ingredients to be the best PL season yet.

Next season m Wenger needs to enter every game and tell the team they have no hope in winning the league and they need to push for 4th, It's the only way we seem to get up for games and we'd probably have another undefeated season!

The moment we lost Cazorla, was the moment we lost balance in midfield. He had no one to replace him. Now that Elneny has popped up who's somewhat doing well to grace our midfield again, it seems we're one gambit too late tho' i'm sanguine about still winning the title. That could only be if a miracle happens!

Why do we always chose the hard way when it comes to performance? We almost always leave it too late every season and start pulling off performances in the run-in when we could avoid that. It's shameful as a big club. However, let's keep winning and see if it pans out well enough to see us lift the trophy. Leicester refused to lose today too anyway. That's how bad it looks now.

I know Arsene gets very upset when people question his players attitude but?
A constant stream of selfies on social media when things are not going well doesn't help his argument on that at all.
We either get ahead then fall apart or are way off the pace but rally when the uafa league looks a real
possibility,
People can come up with every excuse they can think of but it will be a very very long time before another side completes 12 consecutive seasons of top 4 without once being in with any kind of realistic chance of the title after 34 games, that's an incredible under achievement by any ones standards.

It's down to our weak mentality. No matter how Wenger tries to talk up about our great attitude and togetherness the hard evidence on the pitch proves otherwise. It is clear when it really matters and the pressure is on to perform and the expectation is on us, too many of the players shy away and hide from their responsibilities and just don't perform to the level of technical talent they have.

It really frustrating to see us only really perform when its too late when the expectation is off us. I would not be surprised if we actually win all our games now but it will just be too late regardless.

The cause for me is a lack of genuine leadership and real direction from Wenger and lack of leadership on the pitch to enforce such instruction on the pitch. We have no game plan and tactical nous from Wenger and hence on the pitch we lack disipline and responsibility in key points in game. This is more evident in the defensive side of the game but can also been seen attacking wise aswell sometimes.

When the pressure is off we can just play without restriction and beat most teams with our superior technical ability but against better teams you need a good effective tactics and a collective responsibility to carry out that Game plan.

This is why Leicester are where they are because they have rigid game plan that works with the player's they have and they all work with it collectively to a man with great desire. It is very much the sum of whole is more than the some of parts.

Were as for me we are still often a team of unstructured individuals.

Wenger is ultimately the cause, so if we really want to take the next step and change this re-occurring theme he has to be replaced.

He needs the rest of the season in the team hopefully next to Kos so we can see how he does with a decent run Malaga mate, although I'm not sure that's going to happen.

Agree3 Disagree0

19 Mar 2016 17:21:09
Yes he was decent today when he needed to be and him and Kos marshalled Lakaku well. I certainly prefer him alongside Kos to Mert.

I also thought the Midfield partnership of Elneny and Le coq gave us a much better shield on front of them and denied Everton the service into Lakaku. We bossed midfield really and Everton were just not up to our pace. A much easier game than I was expecting for sure.

Agree with all above gab was a beast today, but the only thing about him that is consistent is his inconsistency, mirrors the team i suppose. Why have we been the last few weeks to then pull out a top performance with relaxed power and control, will we keep it up or revert to type.

Only someone who was totally unable to remove their rose coloured with extra bifocal bias glasses would deny Leicester would and are ever more likely to be very deserving premier league champions.
What a turn around from this time last season, incredible. Total respect to Ranieri his players and the Leicester city fans who must be pinching themselfs, each other and each others gold fish in total amazement, the greatest story of the premier league era if not all time, no wonder Hollywood is watching with interest.

Love the balance Coq and Elneny give us

Agree with wrighty - Wenger is trying his heart out and should respect him

Again - 150m in the bank is not enough to compete year in year out. We need to change our model if we want to compete year in year out.

It's taken a while to accumulate the reserves and we still have player instalments to pay

Give the manager the 200m more that City, Utd and Chelsea have spent in past 5 seasons plus what they will spend this summer - THEN judge Wenger.

Believable1 Unbelievable9

And we have spent 260m in that time. There is no excuse this time. It doesn't matter what they do next year. They have shown what you can do with less money. Wenger is done. His time is up.

Agree4 Disagree7

19 Mar 2016 16:00:47
Leicester have been a revelation this season and have kept to a very effective counter attack style game plan that every player is committed to carrying out which suits the players they have. They work harder than any other side both for each other and for the manager. It proves it's not just about buying good players but having full commitment and everybody working in the same direction with an effective game plan as a team. The sum of the whole is much more than the sum of the parts really.

They have taken advantage of some of the turmoil in the so called top teams this season but are more than worthy of the position they are in through their own efforts.

Arsenal like always have the talent but just don't have the mentality of winners when the pressure is really on. We lack the leadership from the Manager and on the pitch and do not take on the responsibility when the going gets tough.

Agree3 Disagree0

19 Mar 2016 17:46:32
Reminds me of chelski last season flair and power first half of season and managing games to perfection second half of season. They could end up with a decent haul of points too, well deserved, no fluke either.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Mar 2016 18:08:36
Any manager will need circa 150m plus wages to keep team fresh and moving forward if you want to compete year in year out, home and abroad.
Let's see Leicester next season with 30% more games.

Don't get me wrong - well done Leicester but not sure they cN compete home and abroad with that squad

Wenger or no Wenger - board needs to step up movies re to help us compete on regular basis.
Centre Half 30m
Centre Forward 70m
Midfielder 40m

Squad depth 30m.

Good 2-0 win today. I was surprised how straightforward it was expected a Everton side full of energy in in our faces especially after beating Chelsea in the Cup last week but they were off the pace.

I think they struggled to cope with our strikers drifting out wide a lot we played with a false number 9 for large periods.

Iwobi played really well looked good on the ball took his goal well and certainly offering more than Walcott atm.

I like the Elneny and Le Coq partnership in midfield looks better balanced between defence and attack more disciplined.

Defence was solid and keeped Lakaku quiet but he lacked service as we controlled the midfield really.

Good win take every game as it comes now and see where we end up.

{Ed025's Note - i am confident that everton will not lose mick, its a home win for me but a draw is possible mate, my only problem is that we might just give our noisy neighbours a glimmer of hope to gatecrash the top 4 if we do win so a loss would not be the end of the world, i always look on the bright side.. :)

19 Mar 2016 12:10:29
If you can see Everton not losing Ed and I definitely cants see Arsenal losing in fact I think 1 2 win if not a 2 2 draw, then I think we should both back our sides by saying if our team loses no Kebabs for the rest of the season for which ever one of us is wrong mate :-)

Giroud and Welbeck and Lukaku.

19 Mar 2016 10:55:42
God knows what Arsenal turns up these days. We do usual come into form when out of the CL but I guess it depends on wether the players believe there is still a chance of winning the title! If they think there is still a chance then we will get beat if the players think there is nothing to play for we will win lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Mar 2016 08:05:24
Henry has go this his coaching badge and does seem to be positioning himself as a possible replacement for Arsene when his contract ends, obviously it would be a gamble but might be one worth taking because even if it didn't workout as we'd all hope it would it would be a very positive move for us fans as there's no way he would be coming to just carry on as always and make up 4th place champions continuously.
Successful or not he would change things by replacing those who need replacing and signing players who might makes difference aposed to those we already know who don't make a difference.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i dont want him to take it G62, hes a hero at the emirates and if things went tits up i would hate him to be remembered as a failure, expectation would be very high and him being a rookie would have him on a hiding to nothing, its a good idea in theory but practically a disaster waiting to happen imo mate..

19 Mar 2016 08:26:52
Agree with Ed, sentiments aside, not a good appointment, ala Giggs at OT.

Let him get his badges, cut his teeth elsewhere and maybe we could be interested.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - that seems a better scenario dags..

19 Mar 2016 10:02:29
Do you think if De Boer and Berkamp came in as Wengers replacement It would also open a window for Henry to join the coaching set up?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i think it would epping but would he want to take it? he is very comfortable as the highest payed pundit without any stress and hassle mate, swapping the luxury of the heated sky studio for the bleak dugout on a cold winter night in manchester may not appeal to him..i know what i would choose..

19 Mar 2016 11:46:21
Guardiola was about as fresh as he could be before taking over Barcelona. Obviously different caliber of players, but I think Henry would do well and that's not just from sentiment. He seems to see the same failures we all see in Wenger's tactics.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - seeing them failures and actually being able to do something about it are two different things valley...especially with the present arsenal board mate..

19 Mar 2016 11:59:47
Just think he's the man to make those who desperately to do things differently get excited again and still keep the no one can replace Arsene fans 100% onboard yet will definitely be his own man from day one.
It may not work out but he would be afford more time and support than anyone else to steer the ship on a different course even through choppy waters if need be before we could hopefully start to ride the big waves again.
Even if things didn't go as we want he would get at least 3 years and we'd deffiately be out of groundhog rinse and repeat mode one way or the other.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Mar 2016 08:43:10
Smart words from eds. Henry is a born winner. He would at least have a go at competing or leave if he fails.

His legacy is great and big risk. Assistant manager role would do.

Right our season is pretty much over, same old Arsenal i guess. I Thought this would be our year (i still have a little hope ) but alas we've bottled again.

Now on Jack Wilshire i see some people want him sold but i can't seem to why. Maybe i like the guy too much, but i feel like he still has so much to give to this Club. He is insanely talented, young and above all he is one of the few who leaves it all on the pitch and knows the importance of the badge, he is one of us. He showed late last season for us and England that he has that world class quality that we need, i just can't understand it and Rambo too.

Even I am finding it hard to stay positive, but let's just try to support the manager and team for the remainder of the season then we'll do the autopsy. Coyg.
