Great read, heart breaking final bit about the fundraiser where he only got £7000 and Madrid got £892000, you would of hoped they would show a bit more compassion to one of their legends and helped him even without the fundraiser!

The league cup
Where in the quarter finals so is it now time to play our best 11?
Just 3 games from the final and 4 from a trophy we haven't won since the Charlie Nicholas final.

My personal view is unless your going to win one of the big two competitions or get extremely close to doing so you should go all out in all 3 less prestigious cups available as it would be tough to call wining 2/ 3 a bad season and impossible to call 3/ 3 a bad one.
There will no brownie points handed out for finishing 5th and going full tilt with all eggs in the 4th place basket seems silly to me.

With the CL and PL being extremely difficult to win, it makes the domestic cups more significant. In theory we should play our best team, but we have 8 matches in December, plus the League Cup match. The QF takes place on the week starting the 18th Dec, in between, PL matches against Newcastle on Sat 16th Dec and Liverpool on Fri 22nd Dec, only 2 or 3 days after the QF and as Liverpool are not in the LC, their players will be rested.
I would play as strong a side as possible from our squad, with players such as Mustafi, Chambers, Ospina and Welbeck returning from injury, we could put out a very strong second eleven assuming no injuries and suspensions:
Ospina
Chambers, Mertesacker and Holding
Debuchy Wilshere Coquelin and Maitland-Niles
Iwobi and Welbeck
Giroud

Walcott and Elneny could also be considered.
However, I believe Wenger will select a team similar to last Tuesday's.

Personally, i'm happy to see squad rotation in the league cup. We won't ever discover talent, if we dont. Plus its all opinion as to who or what is our strongest team.

Play the players who have been playing, whilst it would take a fairly large miracle to win the league for me top 3 is still easily achievable. But that’s my opinion.

I only see City a big step ahead and whilst Spurs are playing really well they have the pressure of really really having to win something, which hasn’t gone well the last few seasons.

United and Liverpool are not pulling up trees and Everton are currently 💩.

Wenger normally stays loyal to the team who progress in the cup's.

Apart from the odd player, I don't expect much change in the quarter's.

Nice one Sussex. There are times when silence speaks for itself, as I am sure a certain 8 year old Gordon Strachan look alike has been heard sobbing in the back of his mummies rusty old Subaru. Last night it was infact the pain at Wembley just goes on. What I find odd is that the attendance for a London derby and in a competition that gave the toot the best chance of a trophy, looked to be in the mid-30,000, which was better than the 23,000 that attended the previous round. Whilst the attendance at the Emirates the previous night was 58,000. I can't see th toot winning the CL nor the PL, so in October their best chance is the FA Cup. 1961.

I know Sanogo mate but the thought of it is funny, RG moving the goal posts and regardless of what the rest of the world thought insisting the community shield was a more valued trophy than the premier league title :-)
I've got a wierd sense of humour I guess but just the thought of cracks me up :-)
No offence intended RG mate but you must admit you would try :-)

R. G. we were dire last night and we still have a soft underbelly I thought we got rid of, I think poch has done a good job at spurs but I'm starting to think he won't take us to the next level this current squad should be. If we had Conte or guardiola in charge of this current crop we would be winning trophies. The facts are R. G. I don't go hiding after defeats and I'm always honest.

G62-
A) However unlikely, I will call him raver18
B) I am so confident it won't happen, that I will change my name to RGtoot
C) The standard is as follows, in my own order of importance: CL, PL, FA Cup, League Cup and Community Shield. All are considered trophies, including the community won by teams. I have never mentioned the Emirates Cup as a trophy. I amused by your ignorance in respect of the Community Shield, which is played by the League Champions and FA Cup winners in front of a full house at Wembley and televised live. I always go to Wembley when we are playing in this match and have enjoyed beating the league champions on the most recent three occasions.
I have never said that the Community Shield is a 'more valued' trophy compared to the PL title. This is a figment of your distorted imagination. It appears that your best mate is Sanogo, raver61's Arsenal supporting identical twin, which says it all.

Hi raver61, I have no problem having sensible discussions with you. I was very surprised with last night's result as you were coasting at 2-0 and it is very unlike a Pochettino side to give up a two goal lead. In fact I can't think of it ever happening under him at Tottenham.
I have to disagree that Conte or Guardiola would win trophies with the current squad. I think Pochettino is doing a great job. However, in the cold light of day, the squad although good, lacks the 'super' players that any of the top European teams, such as Barca, Real and Bayern have. In the PL, Man C and Man U have some top notch players. At Tottenham, the players that could fit into the starting eleven of top teams are possibly Kane, Alli and at a push Eriksen. Even these would be hard pushed to get into Real's first eleven or Man City's. Pochettino also needs to win a trophy desperately in order to move up to the next level.
In respect of commenting after a defeat I tend to wait a day or two opposed to making a rash statement in the heat of the moment.

No probs G62, I have an extremly thick skin having been brough up on he likes of Pat Howard, Terry Mancini, Gus Ceasar, John Matthews, Trevor Ross, etc. Gooners under 35 don't realise how fortunate we have been to have had George Graham and Arsene Wenger manager us.
