Ed any chance of diarra signing on a free?

GoonerRed

{Ed002's Note - I cannot sensibly answer "any chance" questions.}

1.) Wenger got rid of him dead quick, I don't think you will see him back.

2.) You can only ask specific questions GR not chance or how much you think a player is worth etc.

What you should of asked is as follows (watch now he will ignore me lol).

ED is there any truth in your infsmouse knowledge about the signing of Diarra

{Ed002's Note - It is an option that if Arsenal made available Lass would probably consider. Financials over the short-term may be a little bit of an issue for Arsenal but the opportunity is there to strike a deal. There will be interest from elsewhere and driving factors for the player will be money and next season. So clearly a "maybe a deal can be brokered".}

3.) Personally I think its just speculation by the press along with the defenders mentioned today, there just looking at free agents and trying to make a story out of them and us, media fabrication imo

4.) Thanks ed.

G62, I think there could be some truth to this to be honest.

I feel at the right price (talking salary ofc), or now he is thinking the same as most that the squad depth is not large enough and we really do need a dm.

Dont think that Ld is the missing link tbh but for theprice of free we will haveto see what happens.

He was a good player in my view, not exceptional butbetter to keep him then Diaby in my view.

5.) 19 Sep 2014 14:50:44
would be an excellent player to have

6.) Serious attitude problem with this ed

{Ed002's Note - The site doesn't care for brain dead rubbish like you trolling the editors again. Take you pitiful little life, that I can assure you will lead nowhere, and move on.}

11 Aug 2014 15:24:35
ED I was wondering since interest on the cdm's we have been linked with has cooled aka bender, khedeira and carvalho and all of them seem less likely to get and unavailable, what about daley blind from ajax! seems like he would be open to a move away from ajax, would be cheaper than the cdm's mentioned and plus he can play abit and a suit the style of football we play, surely he wouldn't be a bad shout for the cdm role aswell has his versatility for other roles?

GoonerRed

{Ed025's Note - it looks like he is united bound GR..

15 Apr 2014 12:22:46
Ed is it possible that arsenal already have a replacement ready for Arsene when he steps down, and arsene is already trying to bring in the players now that he wants and have agreements with the likes of Bender in place for before/after the world cup?

GoonerRed

{Ed025's Note - possible, but highly improbable mate..

30 Mar 2014 10:19:53
Is it possible that Balotelli will be available as Milan are currently 12th and out of the running for Europe and if so do we have any interest in him and can u ed see him at arsenal next season?

GoonerRed

{Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath about Balotelli playing for Arsenal next season.}

20 Aug 2013 10:40:28
Ed do u see Arsenal getting pogba and is there any truth behind the rumours that we have biddded 20 million for him.

{Ed022's Note - Speculation regarding the bid. I have mentioned on here before Wenger has always like Pogba and wanted him before Man Utd beat us to him (sound familiar?) I don't think he'l be going anywhere this summer in my humble opinion...}

GoonerRed

1.) Pogba is really well liked by the Juventus coach there are some political issues surrounding Juventus' current midfielders that mean his game time has been restricted but an injury to his direct competitor means he will not be sold.

2.) Given the injury of Marchiso -

As much as I would want this one to happen, I stuggle to believe it will! :(

Cabaye / Kondogbia are our best bets.

Is it just me who wants to cut Walcott loose? For me the only good thing about him, is that he is English, otherwise I reckon he would have been sold long ago. Yet again he has failed to reach his potential, yet someone who has been at the club for 10 years should be a fully integrated first team member not a bit-part player which he still is. All theo offers is pace, he has proven he cannot lead the line alone, he is not clinical enough as a striker. Yet out wide his running against players is poor, he hasn't got great dribbling and his final ball is largely poor, so hat does he actually offer us that the likes of sanchez, campbell, welbeck and Iwobi dont. Iwobi has done more in the 4 3 league games he has played than what walcott has contributed this season. I really feel it is time to cash in on Theo. Hopefully he proves me wrong but 10 years of no significant development leaves me doubting.

GoonerRed

1.) 11 Apr 2016 13:16:04
I recall him once saying he didn't practice certain things in training, I think when he was asked about dribbling skills and he said he didn't.

I don't think there is many would argue that he has made little to no improvement.

I watched Gnabry in the U21's last week and I'm certain we have a better, ready made replacement already in our ranks. Albeit they were playing Newcastle he was excellent and looks as quick as Walcott.

So yep, get rid. United are currently paying massive fees for bang average players so flog him to them for £40 million. :-)

2.) 11 Apr 2016 13:52:30
There are a few that need clearing out Walcott is one sadly The Ox who I thought would do well isn't performing either and we can all mention a few.
The only point is. Is it the coaching that's wrong.

3.) 11 Apr 2016 13:59:05
Personally I see no future at this club for walcott giroud ox gibbs or wilshire. None have ccontributed to the team the level of contribution required for a team wanting to go places, while they stil have a good value it would be reasonable to move on to lower placed teams or abroad and bring in fresh faces who can move us forward. With the imminent departures of rosicky flamini ospina and arteta, it would take a lot of wasted wages off the club and allow for quality replacements. Will it all happen, I doubt it. We will still have the same next season. Plus we have a few youngsters who could be promoted to the squad and like iwobi given a chance to prove themselves.

4.) 11 Apr 2016 14:00:15
Plus mert should go.

5.) 11 Apr 2016 14:52:09
Walcott was supposed to be better than bale when at Southampton lol. Bale is now ripping Europe apart with the biggest club in the world and is a star in his country, the other is a headless chicken who can't get into a crap arsenal team.

6.) 11 Apr 2016 15:04:53
Isn't your main concern keeping hold of Ozil and Sanchez this summer.?

7.) 11 Apr 2016 15:32:42
I'm enjoyingtheride northeast.

8.) 11 Apr 2016 15:36:07
And just remind me raver, why did bale leave spuds and you have some pretty tasty players who will be prised away this summer. don't try and say if real Barcelona bayern man city or whoever come calling for kane alli or dier they will say, no sorry i'm stopping at the great spuds on 60,000 a week i don't want world fame a chance of winning, i want champs league now and then and spursday night football rather than the big time and 250,000 a week.

9.) 11 Apr 2016 15:44:09
and so you should Ravster. happy bunch us Spurs fans.

10.) 11 Apr 2016 17:42:42
The fact is Steve the massive clubs won't be interested in Arsenal players as they are not good enough. It's the sane for you this summer with ozil and Sanchez do you want to stay at Arsenal and never lift a European major and just happy finishing 4 th every year.

11.) 11 Apr 2016 18:44:16
Fourth is not great but it a hell of a lot better than your record over the last 16 years. Oh and throw in a few league titles, which the old spuds block out.

12.) 11 Apr 2016 20:38:24
Steve, you've still not won the championship league. Get over it. Westwood will never win a major. It's just one of those things. You can shout out all other statistics you like, the government report statitics to suit their agenda, as do you.

just enjoy being a football fan!

#enjoytheride (delusional fan Steve)

Ns I have no respect for your posts or you r views you and I can't stand anyone who gets personal. Your mate raver takes the mick and has good banter i'm afraid that can't be said of you. You can't do anything without making it personal. Its banter pal and you don't understand. As far as i'm concerned you are spoiling good banter with idiotic statements and when people give it back you make it personal. i'm not interested in the slightest what you think. If people have to get personal and you are the worst. Most people on here and other sites give stick and take stick but they don't get personal.

14.) 11 Apr 2016 15:22:14
northeast lol. both will give it at least another year as i see at least one big signing more likely two.

When we look to grasp ourselves right back into the title race, we yet again let ourselves fall at the next hurdle.

Today reminded me of our defeat to Southampton earlier in the season and the events surrounding both defeats today included were relatively the same. We had just beaten Manchester City in a crucial game that propelled us into a strong position in the title race when we were easily dispatched of by a incredibly beatable Saints side, we cited a lack of passion and a lack of focus that day, yet we easily brushed it off as a one off, maybe the euphoria at the time of leading the title race, being favourites and Ozil's form meant we were prepared to overlook how poorly we had responded to such a big win, yet the patterns are striking in relation to that game and our result today.

Following an incredible victory at home to Leicester, with a last gasp winner we propelled ourselves back into the title race and everyone yet again seemed convinced we would push on and that Leicester were going on to fall, yet lighting appears to have striked twice, our following league game yielded an incredible loss to what has to be considered one of the worst Utd teams in history, yes we played two other games in between but still our return to our championship fight which is our priority has yet again been abysmal.

Now what is it that can explain such repeated occurrences, our always sloppy February form? and our poor responses to seismic events? it is yet again persistent failings but why? Well looking at the two examples mentioned overconfidence and thinking we will just walk games seems to be the answer, both games we had pretty much our fist 11 yet we were easily dispatched of by teams whose majority of fielded players on the day would not get into our team. Where does this mentality come from, it must come from somewhere and judging by the arrogance AW exerts at times we can only look at one place. Do these players also want it enough? 'wanting it' is what Vardy and co have offered us all season, bundles of passion and work rate with a team that isn't the greatest but they ground out results like against Norwich because they are committed and never have a attitude of being beat and dying once they concede, yet once we do today it seems our overconfidence becomes shrouded in panic and fear and we result to how all arsenal teams since 2006 have been and that is to just commit to the attack, act carelessly and abandon simple instructions or roles. With such a mentality how can we ever win the league.

Secondly, I mentioned our poor february form and our lack of fight, WHERE ARE THE WARRIORS IN THIS TEAM? When the weather gets rough we seem to get a nosebleed heading up north and we never seem to want to fight tooth and nail for it, regardless of our opposition, we offer very little aggression! Only Coquelin who I absolutely love and probably Alexis Sanchez who is shocking at the moment put up any fight! We lack players with desire who don't mind getting hurt in order to win! Compare this team man for man based on hunger, passion and fight with our last winning championship winning team and today we look absolute melts! Lauren over Bellerin, Sol over Mert, Toure/ Keown over Kos, Cole over Monreal, Gilberto probably on par with Coq, Vieira over Ramsey, Pires on par with Sanchez, Ljungberg over Walcott, Bergkamp over Ozil and Henry over Giroud, these guys were tough, athletic and physical and knew what the badge meant. They bossed and scared teams yet today we are nowhere near in comparison, we are fairies who don't put themselves out there to win, only a minority do!

So why hasn't Wenger stuck to this blueprint? Yes football has changed but Leicester have that robustness about them, City do and even Spurs do, I hate to say it but fundamental changes are needed in our squad either mentally or personnel wise to recreate those days of not fearing anyone and being the feared, we are no longer a monster that can go to the Bernabeu and win 1-0 or go to Inter and win 5-1! And if that is the case and our bad form persists and we do not win the league for me Wenger has to go!

As a big lover of Arsenal FC I really hope I get proved wrong and this team can go on to great things starting with this season but i'm afraid the proof is in the pudding, today we were beaten by a b team, possibly even a c team with an 18 year old debutant and a LB AND CM paring at CB, as 'title challengers' that should never ever happen!

Cant really argue with GR that pretty much sums it up. Great post by the way.

2.) 29 Feb 2016 00:18:29
Cheers steve, point is, I shouldn't be having to make posts like that, as suppossed title challengers in the easier premier league for a long time we should be killing such a utd team.

3.) 29 Feb 2016 00:30:41
I think what has upset me is the players don't look like they want it. I think they are racked with fear, how else can you explain getting to the top of the league and then produce sterile, negative football. I really don't think they are of the mindset that champions have. We have stopped scoring and are letting goals in and that only spells one thing.

4.) 29 Feb 2016 03:32:59
Didn't even deserve to beat Leicester truthfully. Papered over the cracks for one week.

5.) 29 Feb 2016 07:01:00
Great points. And rooster you are correct.

Per should be dropped come January. His performances since the world cup have been diabolical and its crazy to think a lot of us wanted him captain. The guy is not fit to lead a group of school kids let alone THE ARSENAL! He cannot cope when Koscielney isn't there and this season that has been proved time and time again, from Anderlecht away to Anderlecht at home to Swansea to Man U and Stoke, the guy is a massive liability without a quick defender next to him! The amount of times he just walks back once he has been bypassed or has been caught marking fresh air is crazy, considering he is a world cup winner! Yet yesterday proved to me he is not up the fight, not once did he seem to play with a bit of passion and look to get in the thick of it, yet this is one of our supposed leaders? For me we have to adapt our tactics or just not play him, because the way we bomb forward, we are caught out time after time because once anybody is running at him, he isn't going to stop them! I don't care if the quality center backs are champions league cup tied, for the good of the remainder of the season we need a class act like hummels or chiellini, although highly unlikely to fill Merts place becuase if he was at anybody else he would have been dropped by now!

WOW this club needs a complete change NOW! More so than ever.

How on earth can you lose to the worse united team possible and have about 30 attempts with them only having 1 shot on target is beyond me! what is more dissapointing is that I thought we played well but it all went tits up once wilshere went off!

wilshere was the only one who showed a bit of passion, and I don't care if he was wrong to square upto fellaini its good to see such passion out of a team with very little!

We look back to the invincibles every single player bled the arsenal colours, out of this bunch we have a handful at best!

Cazorla? NOT GOOD ENOUGH! Ramsey? NOT GOOD ENOUGH! Monreal? NOT GOOD ENOUGH! Flamini? NOT GOOD ENOUGH! Rosicky? NOT GOOD ENOUGH! Sanogo? NOT GOOD ENOUGH! Podolski? NOT GOOD ENOUGH!
Arteta? NOT GOOD ENOUGH!
Martinez? NOT GOOD ENOUGH!
Mertesacker? NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

So many players have underperformed this season, and that mixed in with Wengers shocking naivety, reckless tactical decisions, shocking set ups, poor substitutions, too much trust and poor poor poor transfer window comes to form our worst start to a season ever!

If Wenger loved the club he would walk either now or at the end of the season because when you win an fa cup your meant to kick on not go backwards!

We need a new boss (KLOPP?, SIMEONE?, CONTE?), more arsenal legends coming into the coaching team, a new board, chairman and owner and most importantly a lot of a new players especially a DM and a new CB!

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH i'm SICK OF LOSING TO THE rubbish WE PLAYED TODAY!

GoonerRed

1.) Wenger is the main problem he has failed to address the obvious personnel failings in our squad balance for years now. Tactically he is just clueless and pays zero attention to the opposition to try and combat their strengths and exploit their weakness.

He just sends then out playing with no real game plan playing the same way time and again ever adapting never changing. Their is little positive leadership or instruction from him at game time.

Yes some players are just not good enough either, Flamini, Monreal, Arteta, Mertasaker, Schenzy are for me not up to standard for a so called top EPL side. I am not total convinced about Wellbeck either to be honest.

Ramsey has just lost all form But I reserve judgement on him as with Carzorla, our problem, is with have too many players of this type still. Martinez is just a 3rd choice keeper to be fair

Wenger has been too loyal to some players why Diaby is still here god knows and Rosicky a good servent but his time is up free up space for new blood.

We change soon else we will slip further down to appoint we may not recover from.

2.) Completely agree ryan, think we need to get players like campbell in the team, freshen it up! i'm losing confidence quickly, we will lose to dortmund and we will lose to west brom, were to easy to suss out, just listen to rooney, utd knew we would be vulnerable on the counter and we paid the price, why don't we scout the opposition to know their weaknesses, if we actually scout west brom we will know they play with little pace in the team but with 4 central midfielders across the midfield we will need to match them for strength but also to keep them in their own half because we they have little to counter us, but do need to man mark sessegnon and have pace against berahino, yet wenger will do none of this, play the same old team and we will lose!

3.) 22 Nov 2014 21:19:30
Wenger has to leave. The whole team looks on the verge of imploding under his watch. Predictable, EVERY SINGLE GAME. no passion or fight. I think a new manager would give fresh impetus to the players , new ideas , and also a kick up the ass for every single one of them .

4.) Fair point GoonerRed, but las season every fan I know raved about Ramsey, and many said we would of come closer in the championship if he and Walcott had stayed fit. There are many reasons for loss of form, fitness, personal issues, who knows.

Really, Wenger has taken this club as far as he can, it really is time for a change. We have some top players, but a fresh face is the only way to tweak our team und fix our soft under belly. Physical, defensive leaders to allow the rest of them to play there football from.

5.) 22 Nov 2014 21:23:51
I agree with most of that. Although Ramsey is good enough. He did more than enough to prove his ability. Hope the fans don't start getting on his back now his form has dipped

25 Oct 2014 16:49:50
Cazorla has been tata all season and needs dropping he could have had 5 today!

GoonerRed

1.) 25 Oct 2014 16:54:25
I think it's time we offload him. He's not been the same player since his first season and it shows that the premier league isn't for someone of his stature (or lack thereof) barring his FA Cup free kick and goal against Tottenham he's done nothing to warrant a place in the starting XI when the squad is fully fit.

Teams are still willing to pay pretty much what we did for him. I say we cash in on him before it's too late and he just becomes more dead wood on the wage books.

2.) 25 Oct 2014 17:45:01
He'd make a great clown with all the balloons he's pulling out!

He's been dreadful in the shoot for a good few months now but the man is custard. The position's he got himself into today were great. Granted he shouldn't be fluffling him. Bench player? Only because we have 10 no. 10s. Offload him? Absolutely not

3.) If atletico want him i'd be happy to take arda turan in exchange even if we have to pay. That guy is a work horse and winner

For me its Thierry all day! Bergkamp was a magical player but what thierry did, being the clubs all time leading goal scorer and third in the prem it has to be him!Not saying Bergkamp didn't score magical goals but the ones henry scored against Real (all time fav) and against the spurs and united it has to be him!
