Hi everyone. Reading online it seems that Jerome Boateng is a free agent this summer. It seems that spuds are interested but don't know if we might throw our hats in?
Think he's a good CB who could be useful as cover at RB.
Eds if you have any info on that itd be great to hear it! Thanks for all your hard work and stuff you do behind the scenes tgat keeps this ticking over.

Hi everyone. There's been lots of talk in the papers about getting the wage bill down and then buying more players.
I know this is probably a strange opinion, but i'd like to see us see the season out with this bunch of players. If we really want to improve, we can't buy the league, we need to get the young players that we have playing more consistently and adding one or two at the end of the season. January is not the time to be buying and i worry that we have been spending crazy money over the past few seasons. I really admired Arsene for the way he - in his first few years, in particular- coached and had such high standards that he changed the whole culture at the club.
Players make a difference to that but i'm not sure many January transfers do. Ready to be proven wrong, but interested to see what you say.

To be honest, I’ve supported this club since I was 6 years old. I have enough to worry about with 4 kids and my own business the clubs finances are not for me to worry about. The only time I care is when we pay extortionate amounts to players and they do not put 100% effort in
These players are blessed to be paid the amount they are and should realise it, which most of them do, other than that the business side of the club is not my concern.

Hi Sally, when you think of the players we have let go in the last few years without any return - Sanchez, Ramsey, Santi, Mhiki, Papa, etc. not to mention Ozil! that's a fair loss and as Ed2 says, we have borrowed forward, so I expect (and hope) some of the youngsters will get plenty of game time. I just worry about burn out if too much is placed on them so I reckon we do need a few incomings this window to strengthen in a couple of places. Not sure about loans but that seems to be what a lot of clubs are doing atm.

Hello all, long time follower, first time poster.
There's some talkin the papers about Chelski being keen to offload Kante, i wondered if, a, there was any truth i this and b if Arsenal could snap him up?
I know he's struggled with injuries this year but he's such a great player and works so hard.
Ive always admired his attitude, but this could be a pipe dream!

I think i'm in the minority here but i'd keep him! Think he can be a cretin at points but he does have a presence and last season was his best with us. It seems very odd to me that we'd sell him when we have so many players out on loan who we need to sell. Quite like the idea of Xhaka and TP dominating the middle and allowing the pacey players to drive forward.
Still, i think buying another CB is ridiculous, so what do i know?!

I don't see how another super rich owner helps the fans! Surely this problem has been caused by rich owners seeking to increase their influence and control.

My biggest worry is that we splash the cash on a new cm it is no guarantee to work and solve our issues! I think we all were super keen for Torreria to sign a few years ago after the world cup. I believe in Arteta but we should not put all of our eggs in one basket.

Id feel pretty uncomfortable if we spent 44million on a another CM when we have a big squad, huge wage bill and, most importantly, have sacked a load of staff as we don't have the funds. Surely we need to be better than that? This club is more than the action it completes in these football manager style transfer markets. i'd hate to forget what happened to those staff members as we fet excited about the season.

I would be sad to see Emi and AMN go, they both have a passion and willingness to learn that you don't always get with transfers into a club, its just an unknown when we buy them.
We have issues with finances so our forced to do some selling.
Surely we need to be getting rid of the older players who aren't being used and have a bigger impact on the wage list?
Incidentally, though Holding played well yesterday and think i'd like to keep him. We have a lot of centre backs! It's like we are expecting 3 of them to be injured for the whole season!
