wales are doing more cruising than the ravers Subaru, I also want a word with xhaka when he joins Arsenal as he has put a right dent in my Subaru due to that penalty he took.

What dent lol, you finish one place above us in that's it. Chelsea put dents into us by winning European cups etc we will never gave to worry about you lot doing that.

Why don't you come back when its not been 44 years since you've won anything other than the league cup.

The league cup lol what about the FA cups and European trophies we have won.

I think it's weird that Arsenal looking to sign Arek Milik from Ajax, looks like the kind of player we would want to have. And in our price range!

Believable1 Unbelievable6

25 Jun 2016 14:21:29
Milik played in Germany for 4 years between 2011-15, he only scored like 3 goals in over 20 games and only made 6 appearances for Bayer Leverkussen.
In his defence, he would of been between 17-21 during this spell.

Since he moved to Ajax, his goal to game ratio is almost one in 2 and is slightly less (not by much) for the national team.

I actually like the look of him from what I've seen, but then again, that's not much, so could be MOTD fever.
I don't think he'd be a bad signing, but I think right now, we're looking for players who are established, instead of 'could be', I think if we did fancy a striker who could work, we'll just keep hold of Akpom or maybe super Yaya!

That said, fun fact for you, Milik himself is actually an Arsenal fan.

There's a good amount of young strikers with bags of potential about but we're looking for the finished article I think.

Players like:

Paco alcacer
Milik
Icardi
Morata
Embolo
Berardi
Plea
Sane
Bakambu

Etc etc

All with the potential to become deadly strikers but do we need the experience and leadership to go with the goals?

The 8 from 25 home grown rule hasn't worked to improve the English players all is done IMO is make them necessary rather than preferred and disproportionately over paid for thier ability simply because of thier nationality.
The idea was well intentioned but it has back fired as the likes of Stirling and Walcott are rich beyond their dreams dispite achieving very little and thier hunger for success on the field seems greatly reduced.
I think if we were to reduce the quota needed to 2 from 25 we would get more quality than quantity in the future and maybe because the standard required would be much higher maybe more rather than less British players would make the grade and merit a place rather being there through privilege.

I wonder if Ox Gibbs Chambers Theo and Jack would be all be at a better level by now if they were competing for just two guaranteed places in the squad, maybe some of them would be playing regularly for Palace WBA or Hull rather than just sitting pretty as Arsenal stocking fillers or better still all with us still but delivering regaulally week in week out.

Yet again we are in the middle of a transfer window and fretting about who we may or may not sign so It was interesting to read a post the other day about how big a club we are and how attractive we are to players, obviously after Vardy decided to stay at Leicester. Personally I totally get that decision and believe it would have made little difference, bar maybe two, which club made the bid.

In my opinion there are two clubs at the very top who most if not all players would love to play for at any point in their career, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Below those two its really down to money, how much the club are willing to spend on fee and wages which would be PSG, City, United, Chelsea and maybe to a lesser degree Bayern Munich. It appears in this group though that United have not attracted the quality of player the money available to them should have done. They've made some bad choices after Fergie and been royally seen off.

I believe we fit into the next group along with maybe Juventus, Atletico, Napoli, Dortmund and probably Liverpool.

These are all my opinion and others may see that differently, I may have missed certain clubs but that's where I see us.

The point being that we are what, anywhere between 8th and 14th in the food chain with more glamour, more wages or both elsewhere along with a genuine chance of winning the biggest trophy.

So for me attracting the likes of Ozil and Sanchez says a lot more for our club and where we stand than many would think.

But it equally shows that with few top class strikers in the world and the top two having at least 2 of those strikers each how difficult it will be for us to get players of the likes of Lewandowski, Aubameyang, Lukaku, Higuian or Benzema.

We will have to take a gamble in my honest opinion which is where the difficulty lies, season before last Aubameyang did nothing, this season it turned to gold, season before last Lacazette was on fire, the opposite this season.

Then you find that striker who makes a difference and before you know it you have Ronaldo leaving for Madrid, Bale leaving for Madrid and Saurez leaving for Barca.

Pretty much every striker we are linked with you get either that player or their agent talking of going to Spain etc.

Obviously I want to get it totally wrong and Wenger to bid £60 million for Lewandowski and pay him £200,000 a week but there's more chance of the spuds winning the league than that happening. :-)

Good post that stoner mate

I've been thinking we may have an unbelievable striker in our ranks already n we just don't know it, why don't we move Alexis up front and go spend the money on Marco Rues? Or a winger of his Calibre, Alexis is a lot like Suarez in the way he works and thinks. If we're struggling to get hold of a decent striker then this would be my plan B

Thoughts? :)

I was thinking the same jegooner, and still don't see why not. He's a good finisher, great touch n dribbling, causes defenders havoc. Strong too.
But think we'll need to buy 2 goal scoring wingers on either side of him tho. Reus and Mahrez would do nicely.

It may be the way to go if we can't get hold of any world class strikers.

Is there any young players yous think would benefit coming to rangers playing in front on 40.000 plus in your youth setup thoughts would be good pls.

He's a great wee player would fit right at arsenal.

I've said for a while id like Chicharito, he's a great finisher, takes up good positions and scores goals.

Problem is, he's only been at Leverkussen for one season and it was a very good season, so I can't see them wanting to sell and if they did, it wouldn't be cheap.

Yeah he might keep us in top 4 but that's all, not a statement signing and another midget who can't score or defend corners.

25 Jun 2016 17:27:32
For £15 might be worth a shout for our under 10s. £15 would be a steal £25 too much.

25 Jun 2016 21:28:05
At both teams mate he should have been starting everyone says that, he's an out n out goal getter and would fit our style of play perfectly.

It's obviously your opinion buddy
But your WRONG ;) lol.

25 Jun 2016 22:01:10
Hes not good enough, i'm sorry, you might be happy with fourth but not me, he's not a top top striker, he's below that for obvious reasons, that's why he doesn't start for the top teams he's pkayed for. Anyway we aren't in for him thank god so all irrelevant.

I know we are not supposed to praise anyone who has played at Spurs (unless they later join us) but I have to say I have been hugely impressed with Bale, both on and off the pitch. He seems like someone who has not let his considerable talent and succes go to his head. He is really just fighting for his country and as a non-European I will be hoping Wales can go all the way.
Also that Wales number 10 looks pretty good. Reminds me of our Aaron of 2013-14.
