Unai has me excited:

-19 matches unbeaten.
-Fighting our way back from deficits to win
-Shooting from distance.
-Making early subs.
-We genuinely happy as a team when we score.

Dare we dream? One thing for sure, I am looking forward to our matches again.

Me too Rue, I was really hoping for United Liverpool Chelsea or Spurs in the FA cup, just can get enough of the big games right now.

I've been impressed with how the whole transition has been handled, having witnessed utds floundering I feared a similar predicament of 3 or more years in the wilderness, but without the money to throw at the problem. Yesterday's win was massive I feel that will of got even the staunchest wenger supporters over their doubts and on board, which is what we need a united club after such an unhealthy division for so long. But I've been impressed even by how the appointment was handled, with the press naming every man and their dog with a new name almost daily and it appeared the club had no idea. But turned out they were acting very professionally and not getting involved in any of the presses nonsense that the final appointment was so under the radar he hadn't been mentioned once.

Totally agree with all that Eden mate, it's a fresh start for everyone and from now on if the club or management say we are looking to buy in January and or the summer I will once again listen and be interested.
We had lost all credibility on every level prior to this season both on and off the pitch but now all we hear from the club is once again credible and possibly to happen.

{Ed025's Note - good times ahead i suggest G62..

I was very pro-Wenger and very happy with Emery. Still lots of work to do as previous results have papered over the cracks of a poor defence but I like the direction, decisiveness and energy under the new manager. Thought we thoroughly deserved the win at the weekend.

We definitely started to turn it round when mislintat came, then salneri, then Dick. We sign players we need and Dick doesn't feck about, he does his job. No blaming the fans, the ref or the money, he just does his job. We were very lucky that PSG had a brain fart and we benefited. There is now at least a plan in place and it will improve us, to where? Time will tell but we do have a plan.

It certainly feels that way Ed025 mate, everyone is pulling in the same direction again and giving their all for the Arsenal once more.
No more thinking will they won't they be bothered today, they might not always get it right but the effort and commitment is always plain to see and personally that's enough for me mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i dont know why G62 but i keep thinking this bubble is going to burst, but the arsenal just keep on proving me wrong, they have played a few good sides lately yet have kept on winning!, thats testament to how well emery has settled in and that the players have bought into it big time, its great to see the arsenal back in the groove and top 4 seems very realistic at the moment...great stuff mate..

03 Dec 2018 23:10:40
At the start of the season I thought a better 6th than last season might have to be enough to build on for this season Ed025 mate, then I started thinking 5th could happen but now I think that some how Dick has got us to a level where we have every bit as much reason as Spurs to think we can get 4th and maybe just maybe Chelsea too.
It's incredible to think what Emery has done with us in such a short space of time and what is in today's market very very little money spent to get us there.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - its been a great ride up to now G62 and long may it continue..

03 Dec 2018 23:41:36
I was fearing this week Ed, I thought this might of been the time the bubble burst, if we got hammered by spurs and Utd, things might of looked a whole lot different and we could of ended the week 9 points behind spurs having not one in 5, that wins made everything rosy! Fingers crossed we smash Utd and lay another ghost to bed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - its been a great start eden and even in the harder games arsenal seem to find a way, obviously there will be defeats along the way but up to now you cant fault emery or in fact the players mate..

04 Dec 2018 09:08:15
The team are giving their all for the club and the fans again but there will be days when it just isn't enough and we come off second best on the day but it's the credit they build up now with their efforts commitment passion in an Arsenal shirt that we fans will need to remember and pay back with interest on those bad days.
With everyone once again pulling in the same direction, players manager backroom staff club and fans who knows what Arsenal football club might once again be capable of.
The old saying of " United we stand devided we fall " has never looked more appropriate to a football club.

Wenger was a revolutionary when he came but the last ten years he was out of his depth. Dick is a coach, wenger wasnt, that doesn't mean he will do better than wenger, it means he will get more out of the team. When he gets a player, he will coach that player and make him better, which ultimately makes the team better. We are now coached and that means we go into every game prepared for that game, what happens during that game depends on how good the tactics and coaching are not how the game pans out, like it got. Plus every player is accountable for his performance in that set up and Dick takes the plaudits and blame for his actions. Everyone is accountable now and everyone has a responsibility.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Dec 2018 18:54:04
Plus Dick sets us up according to who we are playing and I'm sure we have team meetings highlighting opponents strengths and weaknesses and planing on how to reduce and expose both.
Arsene for all his assets and brilliance over the years didn't like adjusting his plans to nullify opponents no matter who they were or how good they were and most importantly how much much better than us they were at that time, Arsene wouldn't accept that others were better than us hence all the thrashings over the years.

Really sad to see the banana incident at The Emirates, you could see Auba just stare! But like wrighty said he’s never known that from the spurs fans. I’ve never heard anything like that from spurs fans either. I’ve never heard anything like that at The Emirates, when your there right, left, up and down you re surrounded by people who are there to watch the football and that is something we all have in common and the best place to start.

I have to admit i have never been a fan of the 3 across the back as you always have to sacrifice a forward player from the team to compensate for the fact that you are in effect playing with 5 defenders. However, credit to Emery as we have looked a much better unit in the last 2 games, and most importantly, it seems to suit the players we have. We seem to be able to take the ball from defence up the pitch much more successfully with the current formation, and we don't get as exposed having the two fullbacks pushed up the pitch. It is also helping our players, with for me, Holding in particular starting to look a very decent player, as much for how comfortable he is bringing the ball out as for his defending. Perhaps he wouldn't be in the starting XI as much with just 2 CB's? Mustafi is also starting to look the player he was, and should be. Perhaps the truth is Torreira is just making them look better? One thing yesterday was Ramsey, who i thought was superb when he came on, perhaps because Lacca and Aubey were parting to leave a big space for the AM to run into, a role he clearly likes and does so successfully for Wales (and Arsenal in the past) . Does this give the management an issue, in that if he can continue do that so well, why would you let him leave on a freebie just to try to find someone else to do the same job, albeit at a smaller salary (but for a big fat transfer fee) ?

Maybe if Aaron can continue to impress and starts to change his comportment maybe things will change.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Dec 2018 19:26:34
Ramsey is a good player playing in the hole but will he ever be team player consistently or will his natural instincts to be a self propelled flamboyant super hero always kick in at the cost of the team?
If anyone can change him it's Dick but Aaron needs to seriously rethink his actual ability to £s paid ratio before that can even be thought of by Arsenal.
Aaron Ramsey is in reality only 25% as good as Aaron Ramsey thinks he is.

So onto Wednesday and United, only a couple of days rest, that can be a factor if you let it.

Will be another big step for Emery and the team.

United clearly not in a good place so let's hope no complacency sets in like it did against Wolves as Mourinho will be all over that.

Has to be a point at the absolute minimum. No Xhaka as he is suspended. Will no doubt mean Guendouzi starts. Did Aaron do enough to keep his place, he currently has most assists in Premier League.

Will Lacazette be fit enough for the full 90, no doubt another big test we have failed so many times in previous seasons.

03 Dec 2018 14:54:46
Agree Stoner, Gouendouzi and torreira are a tasty pair and the future of arsenal. 3 at the back suits our central defenders and it also suits Bellerin and kol. We need battlers on Wednesday against the gourillas in the utd team, the shape is better for us, i hope he can play it. Utd are dross at the moment but are still capable of beating most teams on a given day.

03 Dec 2018 16:07:52
Guendouzi in and 3 4 1 2 formation with Ramsey playing his most suited position in place of Mesut behind Lacasette and Pea.
To be that's our best current 11 simply because Mesut ain't right for whatever reason.

03 Dec 2018 16:21:45
Agree with both of you, we definitely don’t need anyone coasting in this fixture.

It will mean our bench isn’t as strong but hey, can’t have everything.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Dec 2018 16:30:56
I hope Mustafi is fit for Wednesday as three at the back gives us a more solid look. Yes, Guendouzi in for suspended Xhaka. Assuming we play 3-4-3, which three should we start with up front? Ramsey, Lacazette and Aubameyang?
I am not keen on Mkhitaryan, but perhaps Iwobi will start again in place of Ramsey?
I believe United will turn up against up, which is irritating as they have been noticeably absent recently.
It's interesting, I only thought of Ozil as an afterthought.

Yes gunner, I'd plumb for a 352 of sorts. I would like to think myki had a point to prove and played off the strikers, he could be effective. I do think our front 2 or 3 need to really get at utd because they can really hurt them. We always in the past few years seem to make heavy weather at OT. We need to be more up for this and punish their staleness.

If Jose can't get his United team up for a Man utd v Arsenal game then they are a seriously bad condition.
Because of embarrassing past experiences at the hands of both United and Mourinho over the last decade or so most of us can only manage to be cautiously optimistic but should we get 3pts Wednesday then the United fans patience will be tested to an all new limit under Jose.
For Jose it's a must not lose game regardless of how good or bad they play, they can't get away with defeat at home to the team they have been so used to humiliating so often in recent years.

What an incredible performance from team. I was pretty sure we would beat them because i knew they would be knackered from playing inter milan and chelsea last weekend.

The so called power shift has been halted. i can only see us getting better and better.

The only negative seems to be ozil who is constantly injured. I suspect he might be faking them. i am tired of this cry baby, who never turns up in games and who is constantly injured. You can't be getting 350 grand a week and you don't want to turn up because of a flu. I remember fabregas playing with a broken leg once. what is up with ozil?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

03 Dec 2018 10:04:32
This will be music to Crybaby’s ears, he’ll love you forever.

There is little doubt Ozil is a talented footballer but he needs consistency, even if in some games he’s only 7/ 8 out of 10 rather than a 9.

What we cannot see from him are 4’s and 5’s. Emery clearly isn’t going to accept that and we shouldn’t either.

He has a lot to prove to Emery as there is no longer a Cosy Club to fall back on. He shouldn’t be wasting his talent.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Dec 2018 11:34:23
Agree Stoner I’ve constantly said Ozil is a fantastic player but he may not fit in with Emery’s style of play . He has to adapt as that’s how he wants us to play . I’m hoping he does! On a another note it was the final straw for Southampton as they couldn’t beat United so they sacked Hughes! COYG Also was impressed with Ramsey yesterday both on the pitch and arguing with Dele Alli when off the pitch as a sub 😀.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Dec 2018 12:11:48
Loving the Hughes bit Sussex! 😂 Kolasinac wasn’t taking any prisoners either in the melee.

I said yesterday about our bench being up and out of their seats when we score or even nearly score, mostly led by Guendouzi who loves getting stuck in too.

If Koscileny gets back in the side he’s going to have to start handing out a few kickings. 😂😂.

03 Dec 2018 12:29:05
I am afraid he might refuse to move and instead choose to just earn his big bucks while sitting on the bench which will be a big strain on our resources.

Mesut needs to get with the programme or get out of Arsenal it's as simple as that.
There is no player at the club more important than Dick now and that's a situation that won't change in the foreseeable future, 90% of fans are now firmly behind the new manager and win Wednesday night at Old Trafford and that figure will be 99% of Arsenal fans being happy with our manager.
Mesut like Ramsey has two choices give there all and total commitment to Arsenal football club and the new manager or close the door on the way out.
The cosy club ended the day Emery took over and Guendouzi who must be the most passionate committed sub I've ever seen in 40 years of football typifies the new Arsenal mentality.

Fabulous performance. Going into the matches against the Toot and United I was hoping to avoid defeat and collect 2 points. A defeat against the Toot would have left us 6 points behind them, possibly 9 points if things went badly midweek. Emery is an amazing manager, which showed yesterday when he courageously made 2 substitutions at half time, which arguably changed the game. He isn't afraid to drop or take off star players. The team look so different these days, playing without fear, with a spirit that has been absent for too long. Torreira of course was brilliant, but a special mention for Kolasinac who looks slimmer and revitalised under Emery, and Xhaka whi has his critics was sublime. Tricky match on Wednesday, as I have no doubt United will turn up against us. Well done to Emery and the team.

What a great game to be won
You’ve got to love the mentality and the intensity of the team when they needed to step up, we are not rolling over when we are down as before.
Its have been unexpectedly great season so far.
The city game came too early for Emery and his team, chelsea game will we all know we were unlucky and since then will some might say we were lucky but I would say we were fight and won the fight, yes I’m bias 😂.
