If we go all out for Lemar and actually manage to get him that's more than likely the end of Sanchez at Arsenal, so my question is how would you feel about that?

With Lacazete already done I'd be pretty happy to be honest, that could be a very good attack and with Ozil feeding balls from the middle of the park I would think it could actually be a lethal forward line.

Just to clarify, my perfect situation would be to have Lemar and Sanchez, it's just looking very unlikely.

If he goes get mbappe in and Lemar that will soften the blow.

Welshie. Before we moved from Middlesex to Northampton my eldest boy a goalkeeper had been training at that time with Chelsea at Simpson Lane near Heathrow under a guy called Neill Bath. He also played at QPR. Anyhow when we moved up to Northampton they wanted him at the Old Rushden and Diamonds but they were so poor and money orientated that he didn't want to play for them so he played for a semi pro club. Anyhow he was also goalie training with a guy called John Brady who ran the Arsenal Soccer school but was also the manager of Brackley Town. My son was 15 at the time and Brady said to me.
"Bring him to Brackley we have got lots of money at the moment he will make i as a player. We will then put him forward to Vills or Leicester later on "
My son said to me " Dad when have I got time to go training there 3 times a week. I know what happens you get to around 17 or 18 and maybe they release you. I've got my GCSEs coming up I would rather concentrate on them"
He is now 23 and is an F1 mechanic for Mercedes. The moral of the story is i am a father of 4 boys one of my other boys played for Watford before we moved but as they got older football became more of a job for the kids that originally started playing for fun. The fun part was played out of them.
I think that's the problem. Also parents that want it more than the kids. Too much pressure. I hated the bitching at the academy games the big egos that went with it too and that was just the parents ALSO the cocky coaches who would ignore parents as if the sun was shining out of their backsides.

Sounds like you have some level headed kids. I think I was one of those pushy parents, my boy never seemed to put it all in.
But when you here figure like 80 million and 400k a week, it sickens me.
People say we shouldn't sell our best players, to me it sounds like he doesn't want to play for us. If his heart is not with us, I don't want him. I hate the guy.
The way he has disrespected our club, I will never forget.
I want passion, not trophies. If Arsenal Don't win the league so what I want to come from the ground thinking yep that was a good game.
I'm proud we won the fa cup, great day out.
RANT OVER
Sorry Lanesra i went of track then.

Hey Welsh mate we agree on something :-) happy us day mate :-)
Only one team can win the title each season and no matter how much we want it to be us so do Chelsea City Utd Spurs Liverpool fans want it for their clubs too.
Only one set of fans can ultimately celebrate being champions each season but every set of fans from Arsenal to Accrington Stanley deserve total passion and commitment from their team in every game and over an entire season.
I'd take 38 committed passionate premier league performances from our team next season and be more than happy we'd given everything if we finished in 1st or 10th place, you can't always help t if people are better than you but it shouldn't be because they gave more effort than you.

Just continuing a thread what you lot started about Jack Wilshere.

I have never seen the fascination.

I wouldn't even put him in my top 100 all time Arsenal players.

You may think Jack plays like a potato but one day you will veiw him as a bag of freshly cooked perfectly salt and vinegared chips.

Then you'll want him, bad :-)

At the end of the day you can't keep holding a spot for someone who doesn't show up to play, it's detrimental to the team and building a squad. Jackie boy is Arsenal through and through, but don't see it happening for him. we all tried, non?

If the lukaku to united goes through and the sums reported are correct then that has been an awesome piece of business by the toffees . Ed25 I bet your very happy with that my friend. From an outsider looking in I feel that Everton are better off with the money rather than keep hold of the player. Everton have always lurked just outside the top spots with or without lukaku so I think that that extra little bump in cash can give a serious boost. No wonder they have been throwing cash around like a weekend millionaire thus far.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - we are doing fine SLB, its a bit of a rebuilding job but i feel we will be stronger at the end of it mate..

08 Jul 2017 17:41:07
If Lukaku scores the goals that fire Utd into the thick of the title race and Everton use the money to fund a top 4 finish both clubs will veiw it great business.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2017 18:56:55
I personally don't rate lukaku that much. I know he has the goals etc etc but don't enjoy watching him. If we would have bought him this summer I would have been absolutely gutted! And would have been if we payed 5 million for him . Think it's a really good business from the blues.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2017 19:30:37
Time will tell mate, Mourinho has never failed anywhere he's been Portugal Italy Spain and Chelsea twice he uses the clubs money to get the players he wants and motivates those players to give the club and fans what they wanted when they hired him.

He may spend a lot and he might nit last long at the clubs he managers at but so far he's yet to fail to deliver a title wherever he's been, will that all change at Utd one of world footballs giants? Maybe but unfortunately I doubt it.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2017 16:56:12
Ed, he did bring a lot of goals to the team though.

Hard to replace?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - he will be dags but im hoping a change of personnel will result in more goals from other players, we tended to be a bit one dimentional at times last season and everything revolved around lukaku, in klassen, sandro and rooney i would think it would be shared around more, not to mention giroud if we can prize him from you mate..

08 Jul 2017 10:27:13
I know the sun is not a credible source so just seeing if the eds have any info on this.

They are claiming we've came to an agreement with lemar but haven't agreed a price with Monaco yet.

Is this true? Secondly how much do you believe we will sign him for, or will we turn to mahrez instead? Any info would be appreciated.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - firstly never read that rag mate its an insult to all true football supporters, as far as we know no agreement has been reached yet, and discussing money is futile as its all guesswork EC..

08 Jul 2017 10:54:54
I hope we sign Lemar over Mahrez! We may have come to a tentative agreement with his agent about what he'll want and what we'd pay but that's irrelevant if we don't meet Monaco's demands.

And second what Ed025 said, the Sun is a horrible excuse for journalism.

Agree2 Disagree0

08 Jul 2017 14:11:20
I agree with the comment about the sun, didn't buy the paper just seen it on the sky sports rumour page credited to the sun.

Thanks for the reply ed.

Also do you have any info on when this whole Sanchez debacle will be sorted?

He said he'd say after the confed cup, still no word.
Surely we don't want this rumbling on all summer?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - its a tough one EC, arsenal want to keep him but he wants to go so this could rumble on for quite a bit mate..

08 Jul 2017 14:48:32
Woah, that is the first iv heard that he wants to actually leave.

Most say he just wants more money, but you have Info that he definitely wants to go?

If that's the case need to make sure it's abroad!

This is a true story on Wiltshire I promise.
It was around 2004 or 2005 my eldest son was playing for a team called Sandgate out of Hayes in Middlesex in the Arsenal International Tournament which was held in Surrey at the old Royal HollowayPolytechnic University there .
Anyhow one of the Arsenal scouts we were talking too pointed out Willshire and he's words were something like this .
"See that boy there. He's going to make it as a pro player. The problem is with him is that he knows it. The problem we have got with him is he's ego and that's going to be he's undoing ". Wilshire was playing in a different age group to my son as he was 2 years older. How right was this scout.

08 Jul 2017 08:44:13
Should have had the doctors in and lanced that ego when he was a kid. Bit late now perhaps.

If you humanise it who wouldn't have made many of the same mistakes Jacks made given the way everyone at Arsenal has put him on a pedestal for so many yeas.
We are all guilty of it fans coaches Arsene most definitely, for many many years Jack could do no wrong in any of our eyes.
It's got to be difficult to keep your feet on the ground when everyone is pussy footing around you treating you like royalty from a very early age.
Most people have to work hard to prove themselves in what they do which gives us a solid foundation to build our character on but for Jack it's been both different and difficult.
Beckham and others been lucky to have had the right people around them at the right time but Jack and plenty of others who never went on to be all they could and should have been simply because they didn't get what they needed when they needed it.
Gascoigne? What could be have been if handled better?

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Jul 2017 09:21:37
Sharpie. I also remember this scout saying something that Wilshire was hard work and would do what he wanted.
Basically he was a bit of a know all.

08 Jul 2017 09:30:45
I have no special knowledge about Jack but I feel it is much more his injuries that have destroyed his career, not his personality.

My son and his best mate had trails for shrewsbury. His mate is very good.
I was their when the shrewsbury youth coach asked the lads name.
Ryan went on to be selected, in his first youth game he beat 4 villa players went around the keeper and back heeled it in.
The Youth coach toke him off and said he should try next year.
As ryan went to change, and he was upset, the coach came over to me and his dad, and said we won't him badly, but we have to knock that out of him.
The next year they signed him and he is now in the first team squad, He has developed into a level headed lad,
And its great to see him getting his first pro forms this season.
I know people will say well its only shrewsbury, but a lot have risen from the lower ranks, And I think and prey he does
A good level headed lad.

{Ed025's Note - nice piece that welsh..

08 Jul 2017 13:27:22
Ed
I was shocked at the time. But I really did settle him down.
My boy is now an apprentice welder, and has signed for a club 1 league below the welsh premiership, and is getting £40 a game. (he is 18)
Its a disgrace, people should play for nothing.
To put it in perspective he only pays his mum £25 a week for keep.
I'm getting disillusioned with football, the sanchez thing.
People need to get reel.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2017 16:55:10
Welshie, only time I'll get reel is when I'm going fishing mate. Otherwise I just look like an assassin.
