Can that program get anymore corny?
Why do I still watch it?
Maybe Arsene should sign Phil, they might not be brilliant but at least they can still somehow make me interested enough to be bothered to watch them :-)

Malaga and gunner, i think we have our reason to get rid of wenger, he's turning araenal fans to eastenders. That is a crime.

You boys are so wrong.

You want a top manager?
Pat Phelan's the man. He could have built The Emirates on the cheap, buried Josè, Pep and Klopp in the foundations and lied his way to a PL and CL double.

It's a win/ win.

Great results yesterday. Congratulate the team for the effort but it begs the question;why don't we perform like that often? I believe it is down to the manager. We only seem to perform when we have our backs against the wall, when all the journalists are writing our obituaries we come back to life. I hope we win the europa but even if we do, wenger has to go still.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree with that Punani, solid performance yesterday but the underlining problems remain and will remain while Arsenes manager. Just enjoying the result at the moment and hopefully 3 pts on Sunday.

Personally, i'm pleased we played a fallen giant in ac milan, they are probably the yardstick of what happens when you fall and we need to avoid. Its sad but they are a shadow of their former selves and this os tbe level we are at now. We are not in the same class as the teams in the CL and there is no way we are going to get back there with wenger, even if we won the europa league. We can't keep relying on winning the europa to get us in the CL, our league form is still dire and will continue to be under wenger. Last night was a big tonic but it was also a wake up call to how far down we are slipping. I was shocked at how average milan are and we have to avoid the same fate. I hope we can win this cup and wenger bows out on top, so too speak. We all need to move on and move forward.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2018 19:05:36
They were poor as steve and some of the defensive stuff we were doing would have been punished by a decent team.

Playing stupid passes around our penalty area and neither of our keepers fill me with any kind of confidence.

Like you say we need to get to May in no worse a state and move on. There are far better teams left in the Europa Dopa and it will take a huge slice of luck or 10 for us to win it.

Dags, he's doing a job for them after some disasterous seasons, he's turned their ailing fortunes around but they are miles away after some disasterous buys. Ring a bell.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2018 19:53:36
If Arsene is going to be our manager next season I've already lost interest in next season, shame but Arsene isn't able to generate any emphusiasom from a large section of fans and a large selection of players both those already at the club and those who could potentially improve us.
I can't think of another club or business that would keep the same man in charge when it's customers are so disinterested and unenthusiastic 15 months in advance of his next production going on sale, crazy situation.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2018 20:01:37
I think its more but the last three seasons have been on a downward spiral. Anyone who can't see we are getting worse doesn't understand football. If this isn't arrested quickly by cutting out the problem and changing the attitude of the club and the players, then we are guilty of being complacent and putting this club in danger of mid table obscurity. If that's what people want then great but i don't want to see the potential of this club wasted. New blood, new ideas, new future. Out with the old ideas. i'm bored with the mediocrity.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2018 20:15:07
New manager, should mean new ideas and new players.

It's not a luxury, it's what we need.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2018 20:16:29
Gunner the ludicrously stupid decision to give him a 2 year contract is now looking even more unbelievable. If we had done great this season, it would now look stupid and now we are struggling it still looks stupid. He again has one year left on a contract, what a shambles.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2018 20:42:16
How did one man ever become more important to so many people than the club itself?
How can 50% of supporters be prepared to see Arsenal continue to decline and declare just so we can keep the same manager who 15 years ago gave us such great memories?
Why does it matter more to them that Arsene is our manager than our club gets back to its best and competes at the top again?
It's difficult to understand.

Great Result last night. Still Wenger out ( with dignity at end of season ) , still want us to win every game, and no we aren't suddenly world beaters . But with Laca and PEA to come in with new manager bringing a structured plan and defending attended to with motivation and consistency we are not as far away as some may have us believe COYG.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

09 Mar 2018 10:22:39
Forgetting the defence for a minute Sussex mate, but do you not think our midfield is well below par?
I thought before a ball was kicked this season that our midfield looked shockingly poor compered to those clubs we were going to need to better to regain 4th place let alone make a stab at being competitive.
Personally I think we are worse than people think we are and need some real dependable players all over the pitch that we don't currently have.
Keeper defenders midfielders even attacking players too.
Mesut? With the right manager maybe but so far over a season he's been strictly 4th place trophy material at best, and I'm a huge Mesut Ozil fan.
Kos and Cech are fading fast and the rest of the defence look pretty poor most of the time.
It's a huge job getting us back on track in my opinion mate.

Agree0 Disagree2

09 Mar 2018 11:26:12
Unless you are City or united you can't have £50 mill players in each position. I personally am happy to have mesut, Laca, PEA, Miki, Ramsey and wilshere as well as hector and kolasinac. Monreal has played well this season and Kos was excellent last night but along with mustafi Xhaka Welbeck etc the big question is can a new manager get much more out of them . Rate Niles and Nelson as well. I think it is not so much ability but a plan carried out - and I have banged on about this - by motivated confident players. I think a new manager would get the best from these players plus undoubtedly bringing in much needed players keeper CDM possibly two Cb . Our players are demotivated proof is v city and Chelsea fa cup last year and last night. Still maintain guts of decent squad especially when motivated! Did I mention they need motivating! So not as far away as some think COYG ps need motivating 😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2018 19:00:54
I agree they need motivating and organising better plus need to be much more personally accountable than they have been too in my opinion.

I'm not convinced by one off performances myself I think it's all about 38 games plus, if one offs like last night were a good indication then Wigan fans should be renewing thier passports in readiness for the champions league in 2 years time :-)
Ramsey and Jack both have ability no question about that but Aaron has had one excellent half season in the 2013/ 14 season before getting injured but since then very very hit and miss and Jack is still yet to manage as much as Aaron in terms of consistency.

It's not about being negative towards our players it's dealing with what is the reality they have shown us to date, sooner or later they have become consistent to be considered premier league competive players we can't go back to using the copy written Arsenal word of Potential all over again, Kos and Cech have booth shown that consistency but age is catching up fast with both unfortunately, but apart from those two players i can't think of another consistently good premier league player now Sanchez has gone.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2018 19:51:28
But we can't replace all eleven if as you say they aren't good enough apart from Sanchez. Which I disagree with. Initially if we bought Butland top drawer cb and CDM then that's a start. Sure as poop not eleven . Which is my point you can't just replace eleven you need to improve what we have and add quality, I repeat not as far away as some would have us believe. COYG.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2018 21:59:06
Fair enough Sussex mate, we agree we have a way to go to be competitive again and will simply have to agree to disagree on how far mate.
Hopefully your right because that makes the next managers job easier than I think it's going to be which is excellent news for us all.

09 Mar 2018 08:43:02
Eds? Are Arsene cleaning out his closet, by letting go of so many players go? Seems like he is preparing the club for the next manager. Or do you think he is doing it for him self, because he wants/ hopes to extend his contract? It is very strange business letting Walcott, Coquelin and Debuchy go midseason. They would give us more depth in thess last months.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Your reading things in to this that simply aren't tehre. Players are transient and come & go. Arsenal has a financial issue that means they have to be careful over wages going forward - so they have clawed some money back.}

09 Mar 2018 09:29:21
I see the Arsenal in camp are back in full voice again this morning and full of warnings about the consequences of driving Arsene out of the club and how we will go into an even more steep decline once Arsene isn't our manager, I'm not quite sure why they think Arsenal football club are so tiny that only Arsene can make up top 7 but they obviously do think this is the case.
I never for one moment though the 88% in favour of getting rid of Arsene was anywhere near accurate, Arsene Wenger support amoung 50% of the Arsenal fans is rock solid just not as vocal on a daily basis as those who want change.
All those getting excited about a change of management this summer need to realise when push comes to shove the Arsene in camp will make themselves heard, they don't bother with all the daily shadow boxing but when it comes to an actual fight that still carry a very significant punch.
The battle to do whay it takes to makr Arsenal football club competive again is when it finally arrives going to be very fiercely contested.

Wow, what a performance.

The team had balance and played with a purpose or I dare say it a GAMEPLAN.

Attack 352 and defend 4231 long may it continue.

Shout out to the defence who played well, but a lot of it had to do with the protection given by the midfield.

wonder how much wenger had to do with it lol.

Solid performance and an excellent result.
For Sunday, do we:
1. Stick with Ospina?
2. Play Welbeck up front or Aubameyang?
3. With Watford and AC Milan making 3 matches in a week, do we try and rotate with the few players we can bring in: Cech, Holding, Iwobi, Aubameyang, Maitland-Niles (if Kolasinac or Monreal are fit? ) or Elneny. On the other hand we have a 2 week break after the Milan match, so we could play the winning team last night, less any injuried players.

Don't change a winning side
Make a place in the team like a new contract something to be won not something that is given away cheaply.
Build a competitive atmosphere within the squad and it might just catch on.
Wether your names Elneney and you cost 5 million or Xhaka and you cost 34 million make what you do on the pitch the deciding factor.
Cosy or competition? We've certainly given the former a good bash.

I’d put auba in for welbeck leave rest as is. The thing is will Wenger rotate? Auba can’t play and if Danny gets injured then we don’t have a striker for AC.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2018 09:19:57
i agree you shouldn't change a winning side, but welbeck apart from running a lot last night was terrible! Auba is at least a threat!

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2018 10:11:25
Hi J10 the problem is sometimes it's that running that makes things possible for others.
Emile Heskey was he a great player? No but for some reason England always got better results when he started games, I guess he just did the hard graft and let others shine.
Not everyone can play the hero in a Hollywood block buster you need a good supporting cast too.
Where would Tom Hanks be now without Wilson? :-)

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Mar 2018 12:55:39
That said g62 auba has to start. Welbeck is our only recognised striker that can play EL and with his injury record it would be mental to start him.

True Sanogo mate, the europa league is the most important thing now and I see what your saying about keeping Danny fit.

completely agree with what you said, his runs last night left space for others to push forward but auba has the pace and brain to do the same but also more leathal. i think the best part of last night was the rambo and wilsh tandem one went one stayed made such a difference!
