You know what. i'm not sure who we will sign with 3 days to go. but i'm hoping something happens. and I will let you have the benefit of the doubt.
not because I believe it to be true. but because I want it to be true.

Malaga you are a bloody nightmare. GO TO BED (smiles)
Agree0

We have only 4 spaces left for foreign players. So 2 have to be homegrown and might cost a lot, so I think its highly likely.
Agree0
Disagree0
Time to take your bedtime pill mate.
Malaga, u are a great laugh, second to none except Wenger. long may the banter continue
Agree0
Disagree0
With all due respect (so zero) please stop this crap.
Agree1
Disagree0
Malaga is clearly a spurs fan in disguise, utter nonsense in every single post, not enough time to make 2 1st team signings let alone 6.
Agree1
Disagree0
Malaga you might not be spot on but there would be some signings for sure looking at our injury list as we are really short.
Agree1
Disagree0
Ok now you've gone crazy
Agree0

Are they in those 2 planes mate? Or are we renting more planes or boats & trains. No no no that's Burt Bacharach, is he in charge now Malaga.
It's no good this window has done me I'm off for a lie down. When I get back I hope Malaga has taken a cure :)

Sincerely hope this is not true but a view expressed this evening by someone who might be telling the truth is that mr wenger only has the funds from the sale of gervinho and mannone to purchase reinforcements unless he can secure a marquee signing. The 10 mil available is currently aimed at guilovogui, quagliarella and a 20 year old Bulgarian winger. Two potential marquee type signings have apparently fallen through today due to internal disagreement on value and in one case a salary/agent fee issue. As I say this is not fact but a view that may only be based on heresay the good news is that 1 potential major signing is still a possibility and the club want it done tomorrow.
Believable13
Unbelievable32
I really can't see this being true, I mean all you ever hear about is how Wenger is a one man band as in he handles everything to do with the football side of the club.
If in fact this rumour was true why would he think about signing a new contract if the powers that be held such sway over the team?
Doesn't make any sense to me, I think the whole recruitment situation was directly linked to qualifying for Champ league or at least I hold hope it is ;)
Agree1
Disagree0
There might be some truth to this. I've heard Wenger has limited transfer funds this window as he is likely walking away after the season. The available money is being saved for the new manager next summer (unless a marquee signing can be made, as Whiskeyjack suggested).
Agree0
Disagree0
Why did we put in a 40 mil bid for suarez then? this is rubbish, if only you knew how much oney arsenal make, you would then see how they are robbing the fans blind.

lads I got this from a good mate who works for Lloyds of london.
di-maria was player on route from spain, there is a hold up because of the bale deal.
benzema is the forward, wenger is trying to persuade him to sign.
iker cassillas is on
lookks like the transfer budget is going towards the bale deal.
not sure what's happening with the german player
Believable9

The only 2 players getting linked consistently with Arsenal tonight are Di Maria and Ozil.
Whilst I accept both are good players, they don't appear to play in the positions we most need to fill.
Furthermore it would seem both will be forced out of Real Madrid against their wishes.
I such circumstances it seems an utter waste of £50-£60 million in fees and perhaps £15 million pa in wages for 2 players whose hearts are unlikely to be at Arsenal.
Personally I would much prefer cheaper alternatives who may give more to the team in the long term.
Believable13
Unbelievable20
This isn't a smart post. look at the positions we need to strengthen. its everywhere on the pitch. i'm guessing you think we need it up front, I say your wrong, we have 4 players who can play there and then akpom. wings we literally only have walcott now and cazorla who is better in the middle so yes ozil and di maria are much needed indeed, I would say if we sign them both and benzema we might be ok but are still short at the back and we still need a big boy DM.

a reliable source close to arsenal, that had said cazorla would be coming to arsenal 1 month prior his arrival, states that arsenal are about to spend 40 million on a german international.
Hopefully, this means we are getting a world class player, but who?
gundogan? ozil? reus?
keep the faith lads
Believable28
Unbelievable23
29 Aug 2013 22:45:11
hope its reus because we need a player who can play as a striker and winger. but will not complaint if it is zil or gundogan. and will be the happiest person if we got all 3 of them.
Agree0

If so, it'd be ozil, gundogan would cost

I remember someone saying we were going to sign a Spanish international and it happened 4 weeks later . Lee Dixon said something regarding signing two big names on the tv on ITV. and to top it all a guy who I meet this evening who lived in a very smart house in Hampstead . he was with his wife so he wasn't going to lie in front of her.He claimed to have been nearly every European away game in the last 25 years. as I departed I asked him if he knew of a anyone that we would sign. He replied that we were goi g to sign a big named player and it was going to happen after the Bale deal was completed.I pressed him for the name but said it wasn't right putting names out there. This guy had a nice house in Hampstead Garden suburb.Seemed genuine . If he was in the know and was going around telling everyone no one would confined in him anymore.I said defender or forward. He said forward, we'll sort of. again reluctant to give away too much. I know this doesn't mean a thing, but I sense a surprise .Km
Agree0
Disagree1
Would you fork out £40m for Schweini? he'd fit the CDM/not really a CDM role
other than Ozil/Rues I can't see us spending that much on a player,
even then Ozil would be ridiculously overpriced at £40m imo
Agree0

Ed13 would the initials GA on his twitter mean enough to you to suggest we are talking about the same person? {Ed013's Note - He is one of a few idiots on there mate}

Dortmund would not sell one of their best player (rues) to us especially when we are in the same group as them.

Lewandowski is Polish.
And about this bloke on Twitter:
As an avid skeptic myself, I can't stress enough the difference between this particular fella and 99% of all twitter ITK's. Most of his reputation is gained from the onslaught of abuse that is spat his way, and clueless people who twist his words to their own fairytale script.
I've been following him for over a year now, and I would say that 80-90% of the information that he does 'relay' from his 'sources' seems legitimate information at the time - It only takes one little bit of information that was right at the time to turn out irrelevant at a later stage, for the whole twitter-sphere to erupt into a pitch-fork-wielding mob.
If any of you listen to the ABergkampWonderland podcast (I thoroughly recommend it!), the regulars on there personally know the fella and have repeatedly confirmed that his 'source' or 'sources' are genuine.
Ultimately, you can take what he says as gospel or with a pinch of salt - Either way, there's no reason to get so wound up about it. There's especially no reason to subject the guy to abuse.
Here's hoping that what he said ("Arsenal ready to spend £40mill on German international) is true, and once we've beaten £90mill worth of Spuds, we can welcome our nice shiny new German international to the team!

Do you think its the wages that only we pay or the fact we are his best bet for big trotthus? Would love it to be true but odds very long
Do you think its our reputation of being worlds best wage payers or the fact he knows its only with us he is guaranteed big trophies that's made him choose us! Sorry but I have read all summer about these amazing players we are close to getting and hoped some how they may be true. 4 days left its time for reality
Agree0

I suspect someone could list some German players who would command a value of circa 40mil?
Top of my head Ozil, Reus?
At least that's one way of perhaps narrowing it down (if there is any truth to this ofc).

Arsenal have signed Famini on a free transfer. Ed what do you think about Flamini?
{Ed022's Note - Personally, I wasn't overly happy with the way he left us for "The Grass is Greener" AC Milan. However, he's won a couple of trophies, is experienced, has played for us before (and is PL experienced) so as a free transfer then there is very little risk and its at least another body into the squad. A versatile one at that...}

Ed022 said it right. We have to look objectively at the player he is now. We need him, we know he fights for his team on the pitch, he can do the job assuming his knee holds out, so welcome back aboard.
It's a poor poor reflection on the current state of the transfer dealings (window still not closed but sheeshh, really?!) but that's not Flamini's fault.
Agree1

Got to agree with ed. prem experience knows how we play and a squad member we could have done a lot worse. Still 4 days lads but not looking good ( at moment ) here's hoping.

Well said ED. his wages are only 50k a week. good signing.
Agree0

I can't believe every ones been brain washed. How the hell is this a good signing. He walked away free now come back free and that's what Arsene and board think of the fans. Absolute disgrace. This man and the board should be sacked with immediate effect. I couldn't give a s**t what you all think of what I have said. Our main rivals and arch enemies are absolutely taking the p**s out of us and it is being aloud. Absolute shambles. I refuse to be brain washed I'm afraid. Call me what you will I do not care. Wenger out now. Get a decent manager who allows the coaching staff to do what they do best, COACH. He is a dictator end of.
Agree3
Disagree1
I seem to remember him being upset with playing all the champions league games to the final, in the absence of cashley, and then cole cole came back from injury for the final with flamini being dropped
Classy addition, gave his all on the pitch and worked well in a team at the peak of its greatness. Great player for the squad.
I'd really like this bale business finished as I seriously believe that will trigger something from real to us.
What do you think guys?
Agree0
Disagree0
I'm not sure who this Famani character is? But I remember Flamani being very solid. not quite the Henry return. But a good addition.
Now just the small matter of actually spending this invisible 70 million, gazidis, Wenger and Kroenke have been swimming around in like a scene from Duck Tails! Come on boys. Starting waving your queen heads about!

Podolski out for 8-10 weeks ffs!
Believable27
Unbelievable4
Apparently it is the cost for a victory over Fenerbache, a match that Podolski shouldn't have needed to play in if we had the appropriate depth to the squad which we don't. It is the cost of failing to identify and purchase players in an efficient and proffesional manner.
Agree2
Disagree1
It is also reaffirms the view that our training regime is inadequate as the number of injuries we have considering the squad size is alarming. I also agree that this is inevitable given the lack of depth in our squad. If we do not add 4 or 5 players in the next few days, we will be mid-table this season as we will not be able to cope with the number of games we will be playing (expect an early exit from the domestic cups). Wheover is reponsible for this hideous situation (and I do not necessarily believe it is AW), should go now for the sake of our club.
Agree0
Disagree0
I think you are right, considering Arsene has so much faith in all these youngsters, why did he not play them when we are 3 - 0 up and playing at home.
Sangoo, Ganrby, frimpong, Ryo and MAYBE Zelaham - on the bench - after that the barrel is dry.

Tottenham offered 8 million for Eriksen, but this falls short of Ajax's 12 million valuation.
What the ****.
12 million? Is that it? For a player of that quality?
What are we doing!
Offer 15 and take him before spurs do. He is a quality player, who would be perfect for us and I've said this for a long time.
What the hell is happening, horrible transfer window.
Even if we sign someone, it shouldn't have to wait til the last few days. Absolute rubbish.

Ajax have publicly given permission to Tottenham to speak to Erikssen, I am pretty sure they wouldn't do this unless they had agreed a fee.

He has only 1 year left on his contract .
Agree0

I heard 9mil was already agreed. Hopefully not.
Agree0
Disagree0
He has not impressed me to pay 12 million for him.
you should be asking why no other clubs rate him?
perhaps his very muscular frame?
Perhaps his long lasting endurance?
Perhaps the fact he has been tested against the best of the world in one of the best leagues in the world?
Just because a guy skips around 2-3 players does not make him messi.
There is only one and the others are finding that out the hard way.
besides we have OX and Ryo.
For me OX is better than Erikssen, and Ryo is just a level below him, but with more in terms of tenacity and hardword.
Did I forget to mention how amazing he is at defending?
Agree1

AGREE with lakerville.
if he was that good he would be going to a big club
Agree0

He keeps getting passed over by big clubs for a reason
Agree0
Disagree0
29 Aug 2013 11:50:45
Think Lakerville has said it all. I've seen him a couple of times and he has been poor. We don't need an attacking mid, and he wouldn't get near our side. Would be a totally pointless signing.
Agree0
Disagree0
He is the next big thing in danish football, and therefore everybody is following him intensly.
For Ajax he has been key, linking their team neetly together, setting up goals, and of lately scoring quite a few as well.
But ten for the our national team, he has been unbelievebly bad. Not working hard eneugh, not participating.
Whether or not this comes down to the sorounding team, he is not performing at a top level, worthy of a 12 mil price tag. But then again he could be the next big thing (like Gylfi!).
Agree0
Disagree0
Haha, Oh yeah because Ryo has been amazing (may contain sarcasm)
Eriksen is a quality player and huge talent, and I find it stupid to compare him with Ryo and OX because he is not a winger, it would be better to compare him to Cazorla and Roscisky who are at their best in the Center Attacking Midfield, and considering how old Roscisky is I also find it really stupid for Wenger not to use 12 million on Eriksen, that is very cheap, and their does not seem to be anyone else out their for the taking
Agree0
Disagree2
Peddes, right now we don't need Erikssen because we have caz and ros and wilshere can play in the middle too.
now imagine we sign him and cesc becomes available. do we let him join man utd, because we signed a player for 12 mill?
hold fire. sort out that LW with poldi out.
fix our problems, not try stealing spurs targets.
Agree1
Disagree0
I don't agree with that, for 12 million I really think we should try and steal him. And again, 12 million is really cheap (i know this is probably not an exact price). And I agree we need a winger more but that doesn't exclude us from purchasing players for other positions aswell, it's not like it's impossible to make deals with 2, 3 or 4 players at once

I work with the company Arsenal use to fly themselves and any transfer dealings around the world, they do not opperate out of any of the above mentioned airports, they use the one closest to Colney. and I can confirm there are no flights related to Arsenal scheduled today, however if this changes I will update.
{Ed022's Note - London Luton Airport (if im not mistaken) is the nearest Airport to London Colney...}

Spoken to my very good mate who is today at London City. its not BS, he knows lakerville. if anyone is there just mention me by that name, to the Turnaround Manager. ( manages flight turnarounds)
NO such private incoming flight unless from luxembourg at city airport.
Also what he said ( spurs fan btw ) the only terminal which dedicates itself to a celebrity terminal, is Stanstead, which has a Harrods terminal.
the other is heathrow, due to its private lounges, and security, which enables celebrities to have privacy.
The keyword is celebrity, if I said footballer you know what a spur would think.
There you go Malaga. i've give some credibility to your BS.

Think it´s a waste of money to have two private jets for a player that is already in London and even at our training ground. Just my opinion.

Lakerville
seeing as I am a celebrity any chance you can get me into the harrods terminal next time I come home.

I hate to burst your bubble but arsenal use a company called rss and they fly in and out of Luton, who also have Harrods and signature private companies, trust me if arsenal fly anyone in or out the country it's out of here, they used here for the Asia tour I know because I met them all, like I said no flights scheduled but if it changes I week let you know. Think about it we are twenty minutes from colney!

Arsenal will probably use Farnborough airport. Quite close to London, private and large enough that you can decide to land with little notice. Chelsea use it all the time now. Malaga you do make me laugh. Who tells you these things? Your HP sauce?
Agree0

Malaga the chances of you being a celebrity are about the same as Lucy Pinder walking into my office right now and giving me a cheeky ;)
Unless you class yourself as a celebrity because you are one of these Z-list fame desperate saps who appear on things like Celebrity Big Brother or some such programme in a desperate attempt to hang onto their 15 minutes of fame because their lives are so empty without it.

Dealagooner pretty much covers this thread.
Malaga. as soon as you get Bendtner to sign for your team in spain, I will have him on a flight there and you on a flight back.
1st class.

20 mins Luton to Colney? Maybe by helicopter, never by road. Try 45mins at least during the day, 35 mins around 3am.

Dealgooner is absolutely right, Luton have both Harrods and Signature, though I doubt they would use signature as its just not very nice in comparison to the Harrods terminal (which I have used on occasion ;) ). Windows for holding flights though is very difficult as so much changes quickly with private flights. Its an amusing rumour, mixes up the usual content, but Malaga, its still BS

Love how Ed022 pulls no punches. So far the most entertaining Ed of them bunch.
{Ed022's Note - Thanks Junner, I'm here to be honest, sarcastic and informative. Unfortunately, I do try a dangerous mix of all three sometimes...}

As no one else has bothered so far I will.
Just a quick thanks to Malaga for all the info detailing exactly what Arsenal are NOT doing in any form in this & all other windows.
His unerring ability to be completely wrong every time is to be admired by one & all.
Keep it up big guy.

4 days to go. and watching to AFC official website and tv for an immenent big signing. is like watching paint dry. so to stop my boredom. I have compiled an alphabetical list of the players we have been linked with during this transfer window. of course I have used some first names to fill out the list. but 'Ed' let me know what you think . Players we were linked with
I - Isco (very early on before he went to Madrid)
N - Nani
Q - Quaresma (heard his name pop up once or twice)
T - Thiago Silva (linked a few weeks ago by some Brazilian journo)
Boom.

You can put Cesar instead of Casillas and put Casillas in I as in Iker.
You can put Nani in N.
And Torres in T.
A for Q I don't think there is anyone we've been linked with.
Anyway very entertaining post. :)

"Arsenal are ready to move for St Etienne midfielder Josuha Guilavogui, 22, if they miss out on Newcastle's Yohan Cabaye, 27."
Another new name to add to the other 15-20 players arsenal have been linked with!

according to a source on twitter we have a 50-55 million pound bid pending for suarez. I know its an un official source but its the only hope we have got.

No disrespect ment, but I think its safe to say that Suarez is now a no go.
Altho now we got chaps footy we may put in a slightly higher bid.
Where we will be asked if we gave up the hash pipe for a crack pipe as they will be laughthing there heads off at us

Haha that's "waynegooney" he's guessed a few and got them all wrong. You really think a random kid on twitter would have that exclusive ahead of real journalists?
