How on earth is chambers getting the nod over holding in the U21's? Mind blowing.

Played well in the semis tonight mate though.

To be fair to the lad, he looked the business until wenger played him out of position at rb and he lost his confidence. He has had very good reviews of his time at boro. As a center back.

In response to Steve r, did Chambers not arrive at the club as a RB and Wenger then transformed him into a CB? Chambers is only 22 and CB's usually don't mature at PL level until around their mid-20's. He was horribly exposed in our old system where the full backs suffered from very little cover, culminating in a dire performance away at Palace from Bellerin, shortly afterwards we went to 3 at the back and defensive security resulted. After a season on loan, playing more regularly Chambers has clearly benefitted and there are reportedly 2 or 3 PL clubs interested in him. The good thing is that we have both Chambers and Holding coming through, as Koscielny and Mertesacker are in their 30's. I would like to keep him at the club next season, with 3 CB's being played we need 5 or 6 options, with Merte, Kos, Gabriel, Mustafi and Holding and Chambers who can cover at right wing back.

Rg at youth level he played center back right back holding mid, he did play for Southampton now and then at rb but he was bought for his position of center back.

billybob's master plan,

Sell Sanchez to Real Madrid!
1. He's a good player and morata is leaving
2. It will annoy Barcelona
3. We can tell them to LEAVE MBAPPE alone! LEAVE HIM ALONE!

Can't remember the last time so many of our players were linked with moves away: Sanchez, Ozil (but not really, no one seems to want the lazy git) , the Ox, Bellerin, Giroud Walcott. meanwhile nothing is said about the fringe players that we should have placed in a bargain bin outside the emirates.

Can't help but feel this wouldn't have happened had the club not spent the year with Wenger playing with our feelings like my teenage crush. Fifth place didn't worry me, so long as the club could consolidate after the setback. But now, everything seems in flux and that is worrisome.

Really, all I want is decisive action, someone to put their foot down and say, "You're staying, you're going, were buying you, and Emmanuel Éboue you're coming back in as player-coach and captain. " Even if some of those would be bad decisions, at least we'd do something.

Lyons president in the press again today saying Lacazette cannot leave until they find a replacement as the other 2 lads they signed aren't replacements.

This man really does annoy me. Seems intent on talking to the press every day almost like mind games. Ed002 said Lyon are very difficult to do business with. Can see that especially over the last week.

Then don't deal with him, simples.
Why would you want to subject yourself to someone elses games when there are so many different players and presidents chairman directors of football to deal with.
People can only play games with those who are willing to participate in their game.

Agree0 Disagree1

27 Jun 2017 11:47:01
True. But they have the player we want. Wouldn't surprise me if the deal isn't that far away but he is just trying to feed his own ego.

He who pays the piper calls the tune in that case 16 mate :-)
Personally I'd do my shopping else where if the service is that bad, the market isn't exactly paper thin on strikers looking to move not to mention those who might be if an interested club showed willing?

Fergie wanted RVP Arsene didn't want to sell to Fergie so Fergie so paid over the odds to change Arsene's mind.
Fergie went on to win the title that seasons with RVP getting the golden boot.
Sometimes you've just to just bite the bullet and pay what it takes to the pieces that complete your masterpiece, Fergie was no stranger to paying what it took to get what he wanted even when it looked a lot at the time Rooney £30 million for 18 year old all those years ago? Rio Ferdinand 30 million for a defender before that? Eyebrows were raised at the time but title after title were raised long after the eyebrows had recovered :-)
If we really need Lacazette then do what it takes to get him even if it's uncomfortable to do it and if he isn't that special then move on to other targets in my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2017 14:38:25
Thing is, when you get someone like that, you should use it to your own advantage. No doubt if he was speaking that way towards possible negotiations with someone like Barca, you might suddenly see articles in certain Spanish papers stating such comments like "he is playing games with his players careers for his own ego" etc etc. next thing Lacazette starts to believe this hype and hands in a transfer request and publicly states he will never play for this man again. result. deal done.

Jelfy you ain't going to like my answer but I would definitely make Sturridge part of the Ox to Liverpool deal, sure he had injuries but the boy is full of goals goals goals and will be banging them in again next season for someone.
Liverpool want Ox I'm pretty sure Ox wants Liverpool and we need a natural goal scorer and Danny Sturridge is exactly that.

The lyon president is known to be that way. He has rubbed so many people the wrong way. One person who outdid him in my opinion is the spurs chairman daniel levy but wenger doesn't know how to play dirty he is a gentleman.

Sorry about this.
One thing that drives me mad is when people ask a question to the Eds the Eds reply to it then the person asking the question over complicates the answer that's given.
Please just ask the question be satisfied with the answer and try to not pick the answer to pieces. It's annoying.
Sorry!

The asking how long is a piece of string type questions must be infuriating. I honestly believe that some fans just want lying to! Who are we going to buy ed? Well this year it's going to be messi, Ronaldo and aubamayang. I think also to be fair we don't actually know the age of some posters there could be some really young kids on here.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2017 09:34:30
As long as the responses made to Ed's are not offensive, it is simple banter and we are allowed to discuss the Ed's comments, particularly as on the odd occasion the Ed's can be quite sarcastic when responding.

27 Jun 2017 09:58:55
Sanogo:- I'll start this off. I'm 59.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2017 10:07:42
I agree Sanogo mate we have to allow for the fact that some posters may be young fans.
Surely the answer for everyone is to post all questions to the page without directing it at the Eds directly allowing the Eds to interject if they wish and simply leaving it to other posters to answer if they don't wish to comment or answer any particular posts.
If people want to ask the whole page what Sanchez was thinking this morning when he woke up or does Benzemas move to Arsenal depend totally on whether the hose next door to Giroud becomes available I'm sure lots of posters would be Very happy to answer them if the Eds don't fancy it :-)

Agree0 Disagree1

27 Jun 2017 10:13:29
RG61:- I don't think it's so much sarcastic. I think if you look over things over a period of time it's more like frustrated answering the same questions over and over again.
OK you can say that some people may not know that the question they have asked has been dealt with a couple of times a few weeks ago. But it's the repetitive crap like WILL WE BUY this player that player etc etc. How in the world are the Eds supposed to know that? All they can honestly say is there's been some interest or whatever and when they do give an answer it's oh! how much, when? and so on. I think people have got to remember that the Eds are trying to tell us what they honestly believe. I sort of agre with Sanogo I think some people just want to hear what they want. is Ronaldo is coming along with Mbappe Lacazette, Messi and Bufon in goal. Some people have got to ease up a bit. Sorry about the rant Eds.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2017 10:18:07
I think it comes down to the eds having a responsibility to vet all posts and can't simply just let it be a free for all. And the times when they have bitten out is probably to make the posters aware that certain types of questions and also ones deemed repetitive are cut back. To be perfectly honest I think the lack of information coming from ed02 is particularly benificial for the arsenal page for a few reasons the first is there seems to been a blind obsession from some on this page and they become inconsolable when they don't get to hear what they want and secondly the fact they get a straight answer on occasions and then choose not to believe it and get all bent out of shape.

Very good point Derby mate, it's all rumours some just have a lot more credibility than others.
Someone I was talking to a few years back kept repeating to me what an ex player was telling him was happening on the Arsenal transfer targets front and I kept thinking ' why does Arsene confide in this ex player who had long since retired from the game before Arsene joined Arsenal "
Obviously if we have made an approach for a player then the circle of trust widens and more information gets leaked but who Arsene actually has his eye on and who he might want people to think he has his eye on are quite different things.
Most of the players we actually sign get done in week of becoming public knowledge while the ones we are linked with for months very seldom if ever happen.
There is a clue there in my opinion.

Morning Eds. Can you help me out here. I may be sounding a bit thick! But can you please tell me which club benefits from a swap deal between Aguero and Sanchez? .
I know it would probably be plus some sort of money but I just can't get my head around the point of it all.
If I had to guess I would say that Man City would be getting the better deal in terms of securing the best player so what do Arsenal gain from it. Thanks for this one it's actually baffling me.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - well Aguero does not suit Citeh's style of play and Pep doesn't really want him. Sanchez suits the style of play and Pep wants him.

Arsenal lack a proper goalscorer and Aguero is certainly that. He is also very suited to Arsenal's style of play and fully familiar with the club policy of regular injury breaks. Plus Sanchez and Wenger do not see eye to eye.}

27 Jun 2017 05:22:48
So in all you would say it's a good move for us although Aguero has been carrying a few injuries? .

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I think it makes sense for both clubs. You both get a player that suits the club and style of play.}

27 Jun 2017 05:23:57
Thanks though mate. That is quite reassuring.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - welcome.}

27 Jun 2017 06:21:34
Morning ed01,

How does the wage side of things sit with Arsenal as Aguero is on £220,000 a week over £11 million a year.

Is that a figure you think Arsenal or more likely Arsene is going to pay albeit the swap is unlikely.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - they are willing to pay Sanchez more, so I doubt there will be an issue paying Aguero that much.}

27 Jun 2017 06:43:02
If Sanchez wants out, Aguero would be a fabulous signing, especially if we sign Lacazette in addition, as this would make up for the loss of Sanchez. However, if reports are correct, Wenger wants to keep Giroud, so I can only see Lacazette as a replacement for Sanchez. I would love Sanchez to stay and Lacazette to arrive.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2017 07:55:45
RG. Let's try and simplify that.
Sanchez is going. I think that's a given.
Aguero may! be coming in.
Giroud looks like he is going (or sitting on the bench) .
Lacazette may be coming in.
That's about it! So far .

27 Jun 2017 08:24:55
Would Ageuro come though?
Money is one thing but what about competitiveness?
I know we will sell our selfs as being determined to become competitive again but surely others with a better recent record on that and who can offer champions league football would also be interested in him too?
It's not a case of being negative or putting us down but it's a fact we have been a very long time in the title chasing wilderness and all the talk of things being different has been heard by all so many times before, I'm not saying things definitely won't be different this time just that there has been lots of talk lots of times before that came to nothing.
I'm not sure Ageuro would be prepared to gamble the rest of his career on joining us.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2017 09:32:14
Lanesra - I though my comment wasn't complicated and didn't need to be written for the simple amongst us.
There are a few problems with Aguero being exchanged with Sanchez:
1) . I can't recall Wenger doing a swop deal. Correct me if I'm incorrect.
2) Would Aguero want to stay in England, if he were to move, as South American players tend to suit the lifestyle in Spain or Italy.
3) Would Aguero want to sign for a team outside the top European teams? and not in the Champions League.
I would love to see Aguero join if Sanchez departs and it seems an intelligent way of keeping both clubs and their supporters happy.
