So, we haven't signed Morata yet because we are looking at a few options.

Well, then I read this:

" Aubameyang has asked not to be selected because he is changing clubs. "

please let it be us. Fingers crossed

Just read that aswell I really hope it's us. Any of the eds heard anything?

That would be our dream signing.

36 goals in 45 games, absolute beast.

Still think we are behind RM and Manchester United in securing his signature.

I very much doubt its us but if it was no one not even me could question it to being a huge show of intent by Arsene Wenger.
I personally don't think Arsene will ever win another title for Arsenal but I'd definitely have to revalue my opinion opinion if he pulled this rabbit out the hat.

May be that's all the encouragement he needs 62 - to prove you wrong! 😀
Winning that EPL is not easy especially with all the money in the game now - ask Liverpool what it's like to win it or Spurs.
I hope he proves you very wrong - for the club, for the fans and also the Gent who has fought with one hand behind his back while giving his all for our great club while ensuring its still great for generations of fans to come.

We won't be signing Aubamayang.
And on the subject of Lacazette, who a few have mentioned, I've watched him a few times this season just gone and he seems very small and not very strong. And though he's scored a fair few goals in the last two seasons, it's not exactly been in a top class league. In fact the league right now is awful, with the exception of the ridiculous PSG.
I'm not too keen on the idea of Morata either though. Of course he's not been playing in the right position all the time, and not playing every game, but his goal scoring record is still poor. Also, apparently the stat going around about him scoring a goal every 100 minutes or so is false. I think e shouldn't be paying 30-40 million for strikers unless they're proven. Not everyone will be doing it. Foreign teams won't, and just because Manchester United and city blow money on a bit of potential doesn't mean we should. Its a vicious cycle and we have seen with wages it escalates fast. And in the long run it will be the reason season tickets will never drop in price. All this money for TV rights Will be blown on players, rather than benefitting the fans.

I hope he proves me wrong too SY mate, just don't think he has what it takes to sign Aubamayang or anyone of his statue and I don't think his laid back over protective of his players style of management will be good enough to lead us to a major trophy.
Let's see what happens this summer not only who arrives but just as importantly who Arsene retains.

I personally think we are a world class forward away from the title.

Almost crybaby. Think a CB is just as important for us.

Agree1 Disagree2

29 May 2016 15:51:06
Who ever we sign we still need that winners disciplined determined attitude to be installed aa part and parcel of our players mentality which is why it's really important to let the players who don't have that 38 game desire in them go.
I'm not talking about being everyone being physically fit for 38 games but for every player in the squad that to have the right hungry attitude for each and everyone of the 38 games would make a huge difference to our points total next May.
No one can really argue there was a lot more enthusiasm shown for social media selfies by our players at times last season than there was to put in a shift on the pitch to get 3pts at times.

Lacazette didn't even make the France Euro Squad, only in the reserves, but Giroud is going.

Bruce Rioch! That man knew how to spend, 2 signings in total coasting £12 million (back when 12 mil was, well 12 million :-)
Dennis Bergkamp 7.5m
David Platt 4.5m.

Would be very unimpressed if Zapata was our new forward. Simply not good enough. These misleading stats about Morata only scoring 13 goals in 60+ games. This season he has 12 goals and 12 assists. Being 3rd choice behing strike duo Mandzukic and Dybala he has had most his appearacea of the bench. He scored in 2 CL semi finals and the CL final last season, and the winner in the Italian cup this year, a big player for big occasions, I say we pay whatever we have to in order to land him, the boy is quality.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

28 May 2016 16:59:30
Stats are mostly what people want to make them, Ollys stats are very misleading because they don't take into account that he misses probably 3 sitters and 2 very good chances for every one he scores.

Why do we always shop in poundland for strikers?

Let's sign a proven ready made striker.

Good point Dags, has Arsene ever bought a top already proven striker? Not to my knowledge.

28 May 2016 20:00:46
Well i think Wenger should sign Dags as our CF, a deadly striker he is. lol

Oh and SLB wouldn't mind being our new CB. You miss the ball, don't miss the man.

Eduardo was pretty much the most proven striker we've bought under Wenger, and in all fairness he had the ability and desire to do great things before that horrible tackle ruined him mentally.

Hey ed, are you aware of any deal for Zapata. There is a lot of talks about the loan deal he has, do you know the situation there?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

28 May 2016 13:31:35
Hey Eds its me again haha, reported we are in for Zapata on a few sources and that we have tabled a bit, any truth to this? Is he just a back up option if so and does that mean we are losing interest in Morata? Hoping this is just rumours and we keep in for Morata myself.

Ed002, concerned just as other fans are. Assuming you got heavily censured and assailed for one's death when trying hard to save their lives, would you stop trying to save the lives of the innocent ones if you could for that matter? All i'm trying to say is looking at the world's numbers, should you find just one person who appreciates your efforts, I think you should keep riding along.

With much respect, I'd please urge you to reconsider your decision and let your choices shine forth the light in you to help others in the dark.
Great works you Eds do and i believe every fan, if not all but majority, love what you do and as such you are highly-prized.
Looking forward to see your posts again. No one could divert who you are.

As the raver is cruising around north London in his Subaru I keep on seeing our biggest stadium being built every day, now this morning I could see the Wembley arch in the distance and think this is spurs 2nd home from next year for all matches. Chelsea tried and failed for Wembley but at the end of the day the FA know how big Tottenham Hotspur are and always will be.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

28 May 2016 11:08:11
Or they saw the possibility that Tottenham could have a massive contingent of England internationals within their team and decided to let spurs use Wembley so those internationals could get used to losing there on a regular basis.

Duvan zapata?
Anyone know if he's any good.
We need a proven striker.
We can't just keep taking chances on players hoping that they'll turn in to a Henry, anelka or sanogoo.

28 May 2016 08:12:54
Wenger's skill is finding relatively unknown players and turning them into top players; Bellerin, Koscielny, Elneny, Coquelin, etc.
He has also bought top stars; Cech, Ozil and Sanchez.
Our first signing this summer, looks to be a top notch aquisition. Wenger stated that he is looking to sign 3 players in total and I don't expect him to buy two more finished articles at high cost. The CB he is reportedly after Is Bolton youngster Holding, which makes sense as we have 4 centre backs and I would expect Holding, if signed, to go out on loan and come back the following season to replace Mertesacker in the squad, when his contract will expire.
Forward-wise someone of Zapata's stature sounds likely, as we have Giroud and Welbeck when he returns from injury. Akpom may remain at the club next season and Walcott can play up front.
In respect of Zapata, I don't know his value, but let's assume £10-15m.
Therefore Wenger could sign: Xhaka £30m, Holding £2m and Zapata £10-15m, making a total outlay of £42-47m. He will sell to balance the books, possibly: Szczesny £7m, Debuchy £5m, Oxlade £15-20m, Campbell £10m. Total £37-42m.
I would like to see at least two more top quality signings; a CB and a striker. I also believe we need quality cover at RB.

28 May 2016 12:29:13
We won't go for zapata, not good enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 May 2016 13:45:00
Steve r - you are possibly correct, but who should we buy, that is available and within our budget?

Agree0 Disagree0

28 May 2016 18:02:18
Haven't we already proved the strikers at the club aren't good enough to mount a serious challenge for the league?
If so then we are already setting our stall out as also rans for another season.
For me the one available that would be a definite improvement is Morata though my dream signing that in the realms of possibility is Higuain.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 May 2016 19:45:47
If we are serious we will sign the striker by paying the money to do the job like top teams whom aspire do.

{Ed002's Note - Sorry Wajidir, the situation has been made very clear to me that my input is not of any use on the Arsenal page and I know nothing. As such, it is best for me to stay away which I is what I am doing.}

28 May 2016 11:57:15
Es. It's sad that the minority have made you feel that way. The majority valued your input but completely understand your stance
Wish we could dump the pathetic minority of trolls who can't express their opinions without trolling and getting personal, as they hide behind the protective apron of their keyboards

Would like to see what he could do with Ozil's assists.

Come on Wenger
It's been a few days since your last signing - what's the delay.

Here's what I would like as it offers power, pace and potential:

Granit - done
Gimenez
Pereiro or Deulofeu out wide
Batshuayi or Mane up front

Not a ridiculous spend but investment in the future also.
