I think it's about time Wenger announce that's his last year so we can get the fan behind the team and support the team and get them team play for the club and not arsene and get over all these distractions.
Banners, boos, bad performances and a quiet bloody stadium. We might be out of the top 4 yes but we still in the FA cup which wenger must win to leave with some dignity and respect.
And maybe its best of we are out of Europe all together so we can just focus on the league next season and get back in the game under new manager.

How easly our defence been bullied today. Awful tactics pass pass pass and than what, no direct play. Its just embarrassing.
We are out of the top 4 that's for.

I wonder how many times posters have copied and pasted those first two lines over the last 8 seasons Moe mate.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Mar 2017 21:34:20
The most embarrassing thing was is that West Brom did not have to play well to beat us quite easily today. We are meant to be a top level side so a side like West Brom should have to play out their skins to beat us yet this is most likely their easiest win of the season so far.

Simple for them just keep the centre tight and compact as we would not be able to break them down or use the width well enough, play direct longish balls down the channels to expose our poor defensive fullbacks and execute the attacking corners and free kicks well as you always get a chance against Arsenal at corners and close free kicks as nobody seems to pick up runners.

Just not good enough.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - everton played WBA last week ryan and they are poor mate, we are not all that and we murdered them..

18 Mar 2017 21:01:07
Something like 500 + passes to wba 100, 70% possession 9 shots to them 3 to us. Pretty awful.

18 Mar 2017 21:47:34
Our plates lack passion and commitment Ed025 mate it was shown in abundance against you boys earlier in the season at Goodison and has never been far from view ever since.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i must admit you are a soft touch G62, there is a lack of confidence and fighting spirit in the arsenal team and you wont win much in this league without those attributes mate..

19 Mar 2017 11:35:09
It's been there for some seasons but it's at an all time low right now and seems to me some players have had enough just like many of the fans.
It's difficult to see how Arsene can carry on but i think he might well try to plogh on for as long as he's allowed to, what do you think Arsene will do mate?

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Mar 2017 20:52:47
What a pathetic performance that was. I was expecting a tough game but didn't expect us to crumble like that. I think that is the final nail in wengers coffin. It is sad it has come to this, to a point where fans have to fly banners that say wenger out because the man has done great wonders for us. He should just have walked away a long time ago just to save his legacy. But if wenger goes i hope Arsenal do not go for allegri. He would be better than wenger surely but i don't think he would make us into world beaters. People tend to forget how Ac Milan were shocking in his last season there. I have suggested jardim and tuchel over here a lot of times and you could see in the man city game why people rate jardim so highly. Tuchel is not bad either. I hope the board don't go for allegri.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

18 Mar 2017 21:08:26
I think all the names you mentioned are good fit including allegri.

Agree1 Disagree1

18 Mar 2017 21:11:11
Ok you don't like allegri. he's a pot hunter, he knows how to win in europe, he's a tactition and doesn't suffer fools gladly. One iffy ish season out of four or five is good enough for me.

Agree2 Disagree1

18 Mar 2017 21:47:06
yah moe gunner all are good fit but some are fitter for the arsenal job. Allegri woudn't be a bad choice but he is a defensive minded coach . Sampaoli is a great attacking coach but one who tailors his team to the opposition so in that respect he is better and different than wenger but he is 56. He has a few years in him and i think arsenal want a long term coach. jardim could suit the premier league as he likes playing with strong fast players. think of him as a mourinho who plays attacking football. Tuchel is brainy, tactically flexible coach. He changes formaiton so much but his teams are suscept to fatigue as they press a lot . This season he hasn't really done well as his team has been plagued by injuries and he lost his three best players which would be tough on any coach but he has a big future and he speaks fluent english. In that respect i think he would suit arsenal the most. Of all the coaches i and others mentioned, i think tuchel suits arsenal the most.

Agree0 Disagree1

19 Mar 2017 00:39:51
Steve i beg to disagree allegri doesn't win in europe. He wins in serie A, a league famed for dodgy refereeing. Remember the calciopoli scandal? I have watched so many juventus games this season especially against the big teams and juventus get outplayed. They scrape through matches and at times through pure luck but mostly through dodgy refereeing.
I understand the obsession with allegri on this site and i guess it is because he has been mentioned in the press a lot to the extent it is almost given that he will replace wenger but mark my words he is not that great. He is a decent coach but there is nothing tactically special about him. sevilla faced juventus earlier this season in the champions league and juventus were outplayed by sevilla until sevilla got a red card and then juventus went on to win the game. Allegri's team couldn't handle the pressing of juventus and am afraid he will get found out against teams that press.
In our desperation to get rid of wenger, we musn't forget who were are. We are an entertaining attacking team. I want us to win but i want us to win in style. That is why i want tuchel or jardim or even sampaoli.
Most importantly though i don't think the pragmatic approach to football where you don't take the game to the oppossition works anymore because a new generation of coaches have emerged that are tactics freaks who study every detail and no matter how you set out to play so long as you don't take the game to them they will most likely beat you.

The day pragmatic football died is the day guardiola hammered mourinho 5-0.People use this argument that since mourinho beats wenger all the time, then it is better to play pragmatic football. What people don't realize is that the coaches who have inflicted the most embarrassing defeats on mourinho, the poster boy for pragmatic football are guardiola and klopp, two of the most attacking coaches in history (5-0 and 4-1) . The difference between them and wenger is that wenger doesn't really study the opposition. With them they try to preempt what the oppossition will do and work on their weaknesses and strengths. What Arsenal need to do is to find a coach like that not abandon their philosophy of attacking football hence my arguement for tuchel or jardim.

Agree1 Disagree1

19 Mar 2017 12:31:35
With all due respect, its all your opinion and I don't buy any of it. Did allegri get to the final of the champs league not long ago and isn't he in the next round this year and we aren't. Has he not won something like five trophies in five years and he looks on course for two or three more this year.

Like I say your opinion is you don't like him but I don't buy it. He comes from a simlar background to conte and that will do for me. Not that I am against them but how many trophies has jardim and tuchel won in the last five years. Just asking I don't know.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Mar 2017 20:29:04
Has there ever been such a divided football club as Arsenal are now?
Two planes with two conflicting banners flying from them a 50/ 50 split among the fans with very strong feelings either way, if Arsene leaves some will feel he was pushed and drift away from the club while if he stays it will be a contract to far for many fans will feel driven away through the clubs lack of ambition.
Some players will undoubtedly leave if Arsene stays while others either won't want to stay without him as their manager ( or won't have a choice under a new manager )
The board say Arsene's future will be a mutual decision but in reality they like everyone else are waiting for Arsene to tell them what's going to happen.
What ever Arsene has decided uniting the club again is going be a huge job for either him or his replacement.

18 Mar 2017 18:11:26
Our problems are bigger than what we thought initially. Ozil and co wrre the scapegoats for a while but now that he's not playing, everyone looks jaded and we still losing it only shows that there is serious lack of belief by the players stemming from the top.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

18 Mar 2017 20:26:42
Perhaps a new manager with fresh ideas would do the trick. Time for change as we've stagnated for too long a time without trying something different.

I'm no behavioral expert, but judging by wengers post match interview, he's gone.

A great man, who has done great things for our club.

But it has to be said the time is now, he's lost the fans, he's lost the players.

He's in the middle of the ocean being stalked by a great white.

I could be wrong but I'm also sure he said once if Tottenscum finish above us, he would be out of a job.

That says it all.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

18 Mar 2017 17:22:56
Don't worry valley, spurs are not worried about Arsenal anymore as we are now the better team, a win tomorrow puts us 9 clear. Agree0 Disagree0

18 Mar 2017 17:30:41
He has lost his mojo a log time ago and a looks a beaten stressed out man. However a bit like a once great boxer that should have retired a few fights ago he is too stubborn to realise this and quit for the benefit of the club. We all know the board don't have any real guts or desire to sack him so he still has total control.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i think arsene has been amazing ryan but i would like to see him go now, thats because i want him to leave with a bit of dignity and pride and not be hounded out or sacked by the chinless wonders who sit on the board mate..

18 Mar 2017 18:07:10
Arsene also once said that the moment the fans don't want me here anymore i will leave, I'm not sure he can bring himself to give up everything he's worked so hard for over the last 20 years.
On a personal level i feel desperately sorry for him even though i do and have found his managerial decisions to be bizarre for years and have long since thought we would never be all we could be under his leadership again i still have enormous sympathy for a decent man who just lost his way simply because he had one to answer to for far to long.
If he had been treated like all managers and been held responsible and accountable for his team's results over the years who knows things may have worked out very differently but sometimes being untouchable and answerable to absolutely no one works against you.
He has ignored everyone for years who have pointed out the obvious problems we both have had and continue to have, our soft middle because of no DM, a top keeper a natural goals scorer he's always been the last to accept these things but would he have been more ready to listen and act sooner if he if his job depended on it?

Agree3 Disagree0

Well we spent millions and millions more than west brom and the result was? What did money have to do with today. Less shots less goals and less points more goals let in but we spent far more than west brom. Who by the way according to some on this site have a dire manager, who undid ours.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

18 Mar 2017 16:55:20
Pullis is a half decent no nonsense manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Mar 2017 17:11:52
Steve - that performance was embarrassing.

Slow ass attacking with no purpose or end result.

Sloppy passing and no energy.

No discipline in defence and no leaders

Very frustrating and disappointing - why don't the players care and where is my old Arsenal that could turn defence to attack in seconds.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Mar 2017 17:22:11
Well I'm guessing wenger has gone. So I hope the wenger out are proud
I will support what ever our great club decides. But the bullies win,
I wonder how long the banners will appear for the next manager
Sad day for our great club
Remember what he has done for us. i'm guessing your all happy will the board, makes me laff.

Agree1 Disagree6

18 Mar 2017 17:35:40
West Brom beat us easily today just playing percentages and that should never happen. I think today was the worst performance of the season and that is saying something the whole team was poor back to front.

No offence to West Brom they had game plan and stuck to it but if you mean to be a serious top class side you can't be losing such games to average side playing average percentage football.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Mar 2017 18:11:05
Welsh - I will be very sorry to see him go. He's worked wonders for our great club and will always have a soecual place in our history
Even the most anti Wenger person cannot take that away

For me - the changes must be in the boardroom.

Won't be happy if it's just Wenger who falls on the sword

Always wanted him to go out on a high.

It's ok saying remember what he has done but sooner or later we will have forgotten.

I'm guessing you would give Wenger a 10 year contract

Time for change the man is no longer delivering.

Agree2 Disagree0

18 Mar 2017 20:33:06

I Just Wanna Congratulate the much maligned and Disparaged Theo Walcott For reaching a 100 goals at our club. I understand all the critical comments levelled at him but sometimes it's way over top like everything Arsenal related. For a player who didn't reach his full potential and is constantly injured it's a huge feat.

Steve you were right Granit Xhaka can't tackle, he has the most awkward technique I've ever seen. but he'll grow, i personally think he was immense against Bayern at the Emirates but his performance was overshadowed by the hysteria. Wenger has put the Kante VS Xhaka debate to bed as they are different players, They would've been bought to complement each other not to compete.

Finally Do people still want the OX sold? He really looks a superb midfielder, the boy has bags of talent and i think this season he is starting to live up it.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I know what the club think it will be but it has not been confirmed to them. Due to another matter they want it resolved ASAP now.}

18 Mar 2017 16:30:24
I might be reading to much into it but from Ed002 reply it is clear that the club is expecting he will leave.

Hes gone I think I believe he expected a solid season and him to sign the deal by now but things have changed. Allegri in I feel.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Mar 2017 15:47:33
Shocking performance from back to front, totally flat and no energy or speed of play and no creativity going forward. With Ramsey, Xhaka, Ox and Walcott contributing nothing going forward no wonder we created next to nothing as team.

Defensivley just as bad being exposed by simple direct long balls just not good enough and defending from set pieces is woeful but that always has been with this silly zonal marking system. No leaders or orgainisers at the back.

Wenger no clue from the sidelines as usual same old tactics trying to pass the pall endlessly side to side more in hope that a gap will open up in centre where West Brom packed out the central area, it was crying out for more width.

We are just too easy to defend against. We basically either rely on Sanchez doing something or the opposition just getting tired watching the ball go side to side and make a mistake.

We had Wellbeck and Giroud on and yet we hardly put any crosses into the box shameful really.

On that performance we are light years from being contenders and I just can't see us getting top 4 this season based on that.

The board needs to bought out by people with real ambition and real money to back a new boss. Wenger and his staff needs to go for sure he has lost the motivation and real desire and the fight is just not in this team and that must come from the manager and coaches.

Too many average players that are simply not good enough to be in a top squad, Monreal, Gibbs, Gabriel, Jenkinson, Dubuchy, Ramsey, Ox, Couquelin, Xhaka, and Walcott. That is half the squad so tells you all you need to know.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

18 Mar 2017 15:54:43
Top 4 has gone I just hope we finish outside of any Euro place, I don't understand why Wenger hadn't announced what he's going, that's a mystery to me why play such a secretive game it seems to have completely messed with the players heads.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Mar 2017 17:11:57
Chelsea fan here. You can all blame Wenger to the core. But remember it's the players who are committing too many mistakes. I mean come on how can one team lose the same player twice from corner and gift him free header. U urgently need leaders on the pitch. Need street smart buy this summer irrespective of where u guys end up. Should be looking at centre backs who are leaders. That's a start.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - double edged sword though indian, is it the players or the manager who picks them?, the whole team are very low in confidence and motivation it looks like to me and thats down to the gaffer im afraid mate..

I am and have been 100% Arsene out since 2013 but still find it horrible to see things end so badly for him and us.
I like Arsene Wenger the man very much but i am an Arsenal fan through and through and want what's good for Arsenal way above what's good for any individual at the club.

Out for me. As much I would love to see Wenger re-invent himself and get his mojo back he is not capable anymore and has lost his mojo for good. He can no longer motivate his players to get the best out of them and has to go on that basis alone. We need a new manger and staff to breath some fire back the club backed by a new board that will so real ambition to make us contenders backed with real hard cash.

Wenger is a proud man and nobody cares more than him but he also far too stubborn to realise his time has come.

I know Arsene has done a tremendous job but it's time for him to let someone fill in. We have the players to try a new formation yet nothing.

Desperate measure by people who don't want to see the club they love continue to go through the motions each and every season? Totally.
When you start banning people who don't agree with Arsene being given a new contract that's a very dangerous road to go down and certainly is healthy in any democratic society.

Xhaka and Ramsey partnership as a middle two looks full of holes to me, Ramsey isn't renowned for his defensive work rate and Xhaka always looks likely to enjoy a long early radox to me.
Let's see.

Interesting quote :

"But as for critics, there are no less grateful persons in football than fans and ex-players. Arsenal's strength in the past 20 years has been Wenger. It is not all about results, but also business part of the club that matters," he added.

COYG - 3 points today please

Bearing in mind the physical nature of Pullis teams I would be inclined to play Gabriel at right back to assist in defending set pieces. I would play Monreal at Left back. In midfield I would play Xhaka in tandem with Coquelin.
The three advanced midfield players would be; Ox (if fit) , Ramsey (Ozil's lack of physicality could be exposed) and Sanchez. I would play Giroud up front, again for the physical presence necessary in this match. Both Gabriel and Giroud would be essential to defend West Brom's most potent weapon, set pieces. For me, in this fixture the likes of Bellerin, Gibbs, Walcott and Ozil need to be sacrificed. If he were 100% foot, I prefer Elneny to Coquelin, as he makes far more vertical runs, which would help on the counter attack. I pray we win this match, as Champions League qualification will become extremely difficult if we don't. Especially as two of our rivals for a top four place, Man C and Lverpool, are playing each other, so points must be dropped. The Toot and Man U also could drop points, although I expect both of them to win. I believe the Toot have enough at home to beat Southampton without Kane and although Man U have injuries and possiby fatigue from their heavy schedule, they should beat Boro, but I hope Boro are lifted after their manager was sacked, which sometimes happens of all is not well at a club.
