Hey Ed’s!
Is there any truth to Bernardo silva rumours?
I think he’s a fantastic player and don’t believe it for a second he will downgrade!
Thanks in advanced :)

WG

{Ed002's Note - Try the Manchester City page.}

1.) 27 Jul 2021 14:55:40
Had a look on there and only mention I could find was from 10-Jun and all it said was "Bernardo Silva (AM) " with no further information. Would you be kind enough to provide an update if you have one please? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what this supposed rumour is? You are not suggesting Arsenal have made an approach are you?}

15 Aug 2019 17:58:45
Ed I know you don’t like talking money but if DC were to sign Ozil how much do you think they would pay for him?

WG

{Ed002's Note - As I have explained he will not be going there this summer - but if he stays until January there will be a tiny fee or he will be released from his contract removing Arsenal from any obligation to pay any of his wages - then, as I have explained, maybe a sponsor will help out with whatever wages are agreed between the player an the club. I am not really sure why you are asking such an odd question.}

1.) 15 Aug 2019 20:38:26
I think it's pretty well documented Arsenal regret giving Mesut his last contract and equally well documented Emery would prefer him to leave rather than stay.
If someone offered Mesut a pay deal he was a happy with and a place to play where he was happy to go I'm absolutely sure Arsenal wouldn't complicate things by seeking a fee that could blow any potential deal.

2.) 20 Aug 2019 07:55:29
If Mustafi Elneny and Ozil go ed in January do u think we will look to add any new faces.

{Ed002's Note - Clubs do not typically plan to buy players in January. Arsenal want the players to go now.}

3.) 20 Aug 2019 22:46:16
I'd have thought we have enough players to see us through this season from our summer spending and only something totally unexpected would make us spend again.
By unexpected I mean an injury to a key player or finding ourselves involved in a title race at the turn of the year :-)

07 Jul 2018 23:34:39
I feel like I know everything about players coming in or where there is interest but nothing about outgoings
Ed any chance you can give us a list of who may go and who is interested?
Eternally grateful!
:)

WG

{Ed002's Note - Wilshere has gone from midfield. Reserve striker Takuma Asano has gone on loan. Per Mertesacker has been replaced. Santi Cazorla has gone from midfield. David Ospina will look to move. Nacho Monreal will almost certainly move. Hector Bellerin might look to his options. We will have to wait and see about Aaron Ramsey but if Arsenal want to bring in another midfield player after Torreira, then perhaps he might look to his options as well.}

1.) 08 Jul 2018 13:53:17
If Monreal goes, are we in for a replacement Ed.

{Ed002's Note - Interest remains in Junior Firpo.}

2.) 08 Jul 2018 14:51:03
Hope we don't lose Nacho! Our best player of the last 2 seasons.

3.) 08 Jul 2018 15:01:37
Thanks Ed.

4.) 08 Jul 2018 15:27:30
I agree with that Wire mate, plus if we are about to up our game and compete with the big boys again Nacho deserves at least a taste of being competitive with Arsenal before he leaves us.
He's been a very good signing for us and if not always brilliant he's always been a trier.

5.) 08 Jul 2018 15:49:38
Gunner, i think Dicks masterplan is to have a whole new defence and holding mid. I have got to say, it might take a while to bed in but i concur. Monreal looked good in a poor defence, he might struggle with the new regimes ideas, at his veteran stage.

6.) 08 Jul 2018 19:45:03
True Steve mate, if Dick thinks it's best to bring in a new LB then that's what has to happen.
It's Dicks party and I'm pleased with the way it's looking right now mate, of course there is always likely to be the odd disappointment of a player leaving who you like but that's football.

Any truth we are going for Gabriel Jesus? Looks like a great prospect
Thanks in advance ed.

WG

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal and Benfica have both declared an interest in teh player.}

Ed, i don't believe for a second we are targeting Messi, like it has been rumoured in places, but can you tell us his situation at the moment?

WG

{Ed002's Note - As I have explained before, although Barcelona have not been hawking Messi around, my expectation remains that Messi will be available and Barcelona will start looking to rebuild around Neymar from January 2016 when they can start bringing players in again. And I expect that Barcelona will make Messi available from next summer - regardless of who the manager is at that time. Whether or not there would be any takers is another matter, and Barcelona are well aware of that and are looking at the sale of others to raise funds.

In the past Messi has turned down a transfer to one side who had agreed to meet Barcelona's then €250M price tag, and Barcelona and a commercial partner resisted an approach by a commercial organisation on behalf of an English side with an offer to buy, or at least part fund, the purchase of the player. I am aware that in Spain there has been speculation about an offer being made during the summer 2014 transfer window, but it is "largely" incorrect. This all started in 2012 when in mid December Anzhi made an offer to Barcelona that matched the €250M euro release clause that existed in his contract, and put up what I am told was a "very" significant personal package. However, Messi was not interested in a move to Russia and Barcelona did not want to sell - so Messi, in early February 2013, extended his contract with Barcelona. In the early summer of 2013 efforts were being made by Adidas to broker a deal that would get Messi away from Nike and to one of their three high-profile clubs that they were invoved with at the time. Very quickly Real Madrid were ruled out and with Pep Guardiola moving to Bayern Munich that pretty much saw the end of any chance of a move there (given the strained relationship) at the time. This left Chelsea, and I can confirm that discussions were held about making a firm bid - at this point we are in late 2013 and early 2014 and Messi was in a verbal spat with Barcelona about getting a further extension - which the club were against. Ultimately, the player was (at least in his eyes) available during the Spring of 2014 and at that point Chelsea and Adidas made his management representatives and Barcelona aware of what they would be willing to do to make a transfer happen. Since then he has again extended his contract with Barcelona. I understand that again they see three possible destinations for the player but I am not going to get involved in any further speculation at this time – but one of those destinations is the new money of Manchester City. If the right money were offered to the club, then Barcelona would be open to selling - and if the package were good enough, the player would consider any offers. The difficulties include his tax issues and the vast amounts of money involved.}

A number of questions were asked of representatives of UEFA in December 2014 regarding the transfer of the financially very high-end players and the impact on FFP. It is clear that exceptions would need to be put in place as the alternative could be lawsuits from players regarding restrictions on trade. As such, it would not be an FFP issue in any one year for a number of clubs but it would be an issue for any club looking to do any other business over forthcoming years. And the amounts of money involved are well beyond significant.}

Let’s all calm down a second.
We just lost 2-1 against the winners of the champions league, and would of drawn with goal line technology, a team that we have to fully admit are above us at the moment!
But from what I’ve seen there’s plenty of positives, particularly in our new signings!
Considering we are shopping in Next at the moment and not prada, due to having no champions league.
Arteta may not be the finished article but he is building a very good young side!
I do worry about the defensive mistakes still but our first choice 11 still hasn’t played together for various reasons and it looks like we are still after more signings, let’s give Arteta a season and see where he ends up before we pass too much judgement!
Balogun for me was a must keep and in years past would of been one that got away, ESR and Saka the same, we are in a transition period and I believe we are 2 seasons away from top 4, and will be close this season but getting another manager will only delay that more!
We should all be excited and fully back the team this year and see what we can do!
I’ve been negative for years but now I think positivity is the 12th man this team need!

As a side note I love this site and all the Ed’s and fans do!

COME ON ARSENAL!

WG

1.) 01 Aug 2021 23:12:56
Yeah frankly if you're looking at pre-season like it's supposed to mean anything, you're wasting your time. It's a nice chance to see some of our squad in action with no pressure and that's about it.

That said, we really need to learn when to sell players like Hector when their value is high rather than waiting for them to crater out. Can't imagine anyone is interested in him now after 2 seasons of playing like cack.

2.) 01 Aug 2021 23:58:58
I’m not looking at the results - to be fair CFC should have spanked us

I’m more bothered about performances - have we learned, is the defence more organised while still allowing us to create chances. Are we getting the ball forward quickly for PEA, are we better at corners and learning from mistakes

That’s the basics.

3.) 02 Aug 2021 00:29:54
Pretty sure the invincibles didn't win any pre season games. So I read.

4.) 02 Aug 2021 07:51:51
Well said WG

Seriously it’s pre season! And the champions of Europe with pretty much their strongest team out.

5.) 02 Aug 2021 11:22:21
Their strongest team? They had maybe 7 of their usual starters whilst Arsenal had pretty much their first 11 out although could argue Elneny/ Xhaka and White didn’t start.

6.) 02 Aug 2021 12:58:25
Might be pre season but we’ve learnt nothing about playing out from the back.

7.) 02 Aug 2021 13:17:32
Pretty much our strongest team out? 😂 Our captain was missing, our first choice fullbacks/ wingbacks were missing, Thiago was missing, Kante played 30 minutes, Mount was missing. Jorginho too.

8.) 02 Aug 2021 13:26:42
As Fuser has said Arsenal had a very strong starting line up so don’t start the excuses about how strong Chelsea’s was .

28 Apr 2021 00:51:04
Ed002, I know and understand why you aren’t posting about arsenal right now, there are some idiot fans on here who don’t understand what you bring to us!
Just want to thank you for everything you’ve done for us all over the years and hope to hear from you again soon!
Much love
WG.

WG

{Ed002's Note - Thanks.}

1.) 28 Apr 2021 11:13:02
Echo that and it’s a shame as the site is great and all the Ed’s. That additional engagement is the cherry on the cake. Hope you’re back soon on the best page.

15 Mar 2021 11:19:13
Mathematically we can still win the league on goal difference 🤣.

WG

1.) 15 Mar 2021 12:57:02
Wow with just 10 games to go it is still mathematically possible for us to be champions?
We're back 😀.

2.) 15 Mar 2021 16:42:21
10-0 for the rest of the season, piece of cake :)

01 Nov 2020 19:58:32
We have conceded the least goals in the premier league so far this season.
We have also played Liverpool, city and Utd away.
If that’s not progress I don’t know what is!

WG

1.) 01 Nov 2020 21:29:34
Great progress played 7 lost 3 🤣😂🤣🤣.

2.) 02 Nov 2020 15:32:33
Calm down pal, you’re two points ahead and if I’m correct you’ve played 1 game vs ‘big 6’ clubs.

10 Sep 2020 21:21:10
Line up predictions for Saturday!

Emi
Bellerin Saliba holding tierney
AMN Cabellos Xhaka
Pepe Auba
Nketiah

Can see gabriel instead of holding but think he will get the nod for the experience in Prem

So hard to leave laca, Saka and Nelson out but what a bench either way!

WG

{Ed047's Note - what about Willian?

1.) 10 Sep 2020 21:31:53
Saliba and Holding in a back 4? Not sure Mikel will go for that and much much less sure I want him to.

2.) 10 Sep 2020 22:16:36
Emi
Bellerin Saliba Gabriel tierney
AMN Xhaka
Ceballos
Willian Auba Saka.

3.) 10 Sep 2020 22:18:00
Luiz injured and Gabriel will be barely match fit. I reckon he'll stick with a back 3 or 5 however you look at it.
Saliba Holding Tierney
Bellerin and AMN as WB's.

4.) 10 Sep 2020 22:28:07
Looks like Emi is on his way to Villa : (.

5.) 10 Sep 2020 23:33:31
I personally make Glen much closer to what will actually happen.
It would be weird if Mikel abandoned his 3 at the back preference in favour of a Holding and Saliba pairing given lack of maturity experience and partnership between them, especially given Holding has been so much better in a 3 than a pairing in the past.

6.) 11 Sep 2020 06:37:30
Exactly Gunner he has to keep it as consistent as he can so he'll stick with what's worked for the season opener I reckon. Then as players become fit and so on we can experiment. It's important we get a good result to kick off the campaign.

7.) 11 Sep 2020 07:29:14
Definitely Glen, keep it as uncomplicated and as familiar as possible especially when not at fill strength, the last thing we need is to kick off with a defeat and worse still a defeat where the defence is chaotic. Let's get some points on the board and hopefully a positive vibe going.

8.) 11 Sep 2020 08:16:25
Yeah 100% mate. We need a solid performance to start off. Away matches are critical for us this season if we are going to make ourselves serious contenders for the top 4. Listening to Talksport this week we have been hugely disregarded by most of the pundits and fans so we have a big opportunity here. The majority don't even see us finishing in the top 6 so. let's make this season count.

9.) 11 Sep 2020 09:56:37
I think that's this seasons big challenge Glen, to get people to us seriously again. Ultimately I know it doesn't matter what others think but there opinions are based on what they see and have seen so if we shoe everyone that this really is a new Arsenal then hopefully we will change how people see us.
I'm really pleased with the introduction of new non Arsenal coaching blood as I feel it shows we are open to change and learning from others.

10.) 11 Sep 2020 11:09:34
Yeah I agree mate and tbh, if Arteta has had an input with this and has partly selected them to be part of his coaching staff then i'm all for it. Despite what others think, he's already demonstrated how he wants to move forward on and off the pitch. The players know what's expected of them, they understand what is in Arteta's terms 'non-negotiable' and they are slowly learning how he want's the team to play. The morale and togetherness that he has created as well is wonderful to see. It's how they react to poor results which is one of the keys to our success this season. That and consistency in our performances week in, week out.

11.) 11 Sep 2020 12:18:11
If we go into next season looking a real force again I will be over the moon Glen, if it happens this season so much the better but as long as there is real genuine prolonged progress on the pitch then it will be good enough for me whether we finish 4th or 7th.

Neither of the players you signed are top?
They are young with potential but coming from Dutch and Portuguese league as youngsters.
Both together aren’t as good as erikson who made the right decision and got out of your club.

He also pushes Lacazette in the groin as he gets up.
the VAR video is very one sided.
