Cech showed a great side to his character today - running up to Ospina at the end to celebrate. Really nice touch

Wenger is keeping this medal - interesting. Because he fought so hard, it was against all odds or last game?

Well done Celtic - tremendous season.

There is a certain love song where a female sings to her lover to give her 'all or nothing at all'. I was reminded of that song today when we won the fa cup. Wenger dissapoints at times but also delivers emphatically at times like today and it is frustrating. I kept wondering, 'where was that team the whole of this season? ' We played superbly it was unbelievable.

Despite that result, i think wenger still needs to go and this is the perfect time. I don't see him competing for the champions league or the premier league next season. This is because he came out and said that needs one or two signings to compete. Really? This team has holes everywhere. Left back is an area of concern as is the box to box midfield position where our primary player is injury prone. We also need a top class winger and a top class striker. So that is a minimum of four players.

wenger should go out with a bang if he is going to stay and sign kolasinic, tolisso/ isco/ fabinho for the box to box role . A good winger in thomas lemar, pulisic, douglas costa and mbappe uprfront. I don't care how much it will cost to get them in. Just do it for once. No signing of third rate players.

Hi all a united fan in peace .
Congratulations on wining the cup today. Not the season you wanted but its like ourselves last season its some consolation.
Gutted you didn't make top 4 tbh.
Don't look your nose down the Europa league it's a nice trophy to win and if you do you will enjoy the ride.
Enjoy the summer break.
Ken.

It's the raver coming through in his famous Subaru, it was a nightmare of a final to watch as I dislike both clubs. The plus was you lot stopping Chelsea doing the double and the sad part was you lot winning it but Wenger signing a new contract will be worth it as you are falling away from the top boys in the league. I give stick put in also very honest and I thought you lot were excellent today and totally ripped Chelsea apart and should have won by more. I've only seen Chelsea get the runaround 3 times this season twice by you and us so fair play to you.

Fair play raver. We have another something tucked away in the trophy room you haven't managed to get. It will be hard watching the five teams in the champs league next year but the league is the one every one wants and we both are some way off that. May be this will be when wenger bows out on a high, if he's got any sense. I somehow think he wont.

Great performance deserved win, nice to end the season on a positive note. I though that Mertasaker was immense today considering he has hardly had any minutes of football. Sanchez usual busy self, Wellbeck really stretched the defence even Ozil put in a good shift today. All played well really to a man today and played for Wenger today.

Jumped on the floor, when if he had stayed up he might of created an actual chance. They need to bring in harsher penalties for diving.

27 May 2017 21:00:03
Glad the ref did not bottle it and many would have just waved play on, this is the only way it will be stamped out with rightful bookings. A obvious dive should be a straight red in my book but it is a difficult area to ref sometimes and make such a call.

{Ed025's Note - i thought the ref had a very good game actually ryan..

Great performance. Merts was great. Moses had a mare.

27 May 2017 22:56:12
The ref made one big mistake but in comparison to the Chelsea players he had a good game.
Congratulations to Arsenal on winning, you deserved.
Next seaon will be interesting with Man City already buying bigtime and Utd sure to do likewise. Chelsea will have to strenghthen for a champions league campaign and I guess Spurs will start the season believing they can win a trophy and then fall short again.

It is good when we have a major match where no one has mentioned the ref. top performance from him and hasn't even been mentioned. They're to officiate not be star performer.

Well done - some great performances - Granit, Holding, Ozil, Sanchez, Danny, Nacho, . But man of the match PER - bloody awesome and showed the doubters!

Well done Wenger - you deserved that.

Absolutely chuffed.

No Kos, Mustafi and Gabriel.

Mertesacker, Monreal and Bellerin were absolutely immense.

Won 2-1 but could easily have been 5 or 6.

Well done chaps, the best team throughout and a good performance from start to finish. Looks like Wenger is staying so interested to see how that pans out next year, we now have a clear top 6 which makes it much more of a battle than it used to be. Good win.

Wenger has said thr following:

"I don't mind criticism because we are in a public job, " he told BBC Sport's Football Focus before Saturday's FA Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley.

"I believe there's a difference between being criticised and being treated in a way that human beings don't deserve. "

He added: "The lack of respect from some has been a disgrace and I will never accept that. I will never forget it.

Cortesy of the BBC, to me this indicates he will leave.

If he stays i fear it will be due to a petty ideology that he is above fan criticism.

I have been a staunch fan of Wenger and still am, but this season i have come around to the fct Arsenal need fresh ideas.

Football needs proactive tactics and pressure to perform. Arsenal has none of this. I salute Wenger and always will, but his tiki taka project has failed, we need a change.

And lastly, many say some players will only stay if Wenger does. My opinion would be if we want playes such as sanchez, ozil and chamberlain to stay, we need a new influence and direction to convince them.

We already have to players to win this has been proven, we just need a modern technician to push our players for a full season and more.

Valley Gooner out, much love.

My apologies for the spelling mistakes, had a funeral this morning so had a few strong pops.

Just another though, is anyone else torn about this match?

I want Arsenal to win and i would love that as it would put a glint of colour on our dark season.

But converesly as much as it pains me, i think if we loose it woyld be far more beneficial in the long term.

Anyone else feel like this?

First of all: I totally agree with Wenger in what he communicates in this interview. Flying planes with banners reading "Wenger out" among other ways of protests does not reflect good on Arsenal Football Club. Not for the club, not for most supporters, not for current players and not for potential players.

As a star player, would you rather go to a club where the fans support you no mather what, even in a though spell? Or would you go to a club that fly plains with disrespectful banner above the stadium, game time, when you have a difficult season? I know what I would choose.

Dont get me wrong, I think posters in this forum are entitled to a meaning and I think all the posters here are criticising the club in the right way. The should definitly be able to criticise the club and the manager. But in a respectfull way. Specially when it comes to our most winning manager ever, and the manager that today could be the most winning manager in the (long) history of th FA cup. The manager that has taken us through hard economic times, securing top 4 spots and CL-football 20 years in a row!

If what we do is treat this man with disrespect the first (! ) year we drop out of top 4 I fear for what potential players, owners, sponsors and such would think of us.

Now finally, saying you would want us to lose the final today is something I would disagree with on many levels. First, if this is the last game of Wenger, winning is something I really think he deserves and would be a good way for him to go. Second, as a supporter I always hope Arsenal will win.

To wrap it up, I think it is positive that we criticise the cluv when critic is warrented. But I also think we could be better in voicing our support when support is deserved. If it is one person in this club I think deserves support it is Wenger. I would love nothing more than Wenger being able to redeem himself next season, winning the league, drop the mic and leave Arsenal on the highest of notes. How cool wouldn't that be?

Boll*cks. We've supported Wenger and his reverse ways for too long. Arsenal fans were always patient with the likes of Chamakh, Gervinho and Santos. It comes a time when fans can't stand for mediocritu anymore; everyone has a breaking point.

You say Wenger took us through 'tough economic times'. If he knew we were going through that why did he take bigger and bigger contracts every year? He is among the highest paid managers in the world.

He did a great job but everything has an expiry date. We need someone who will take us to the next level and make sure we keep up with other big clubs. Wenger will always be a legend but he takes it too far, like he is a god and he is above criticism when he constantly under performs. He needs to leave now; he is past his expiry date and the smell isn't pleasant at all.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 May 2017 18:53:19
I never said i hope we lose, as an Arsenal fan for the last 28 years i want us to win.

My point was this; if we lose today then it would give the club a kick up the arse-nal from top down and change would have to happen. Even for Kroenke as if we end up outside top 4 each year with no champions league his investment will be worthless.

Also, though i don't agree with the banners. If the board put pressure on Wenger or Wenger was proactive with tactics/ change, then i very much doubt anyone would be protesting at all.

Look at our last 5 games and today, if we had played with this passion and if the tactical change had happened at christmas, we very well may have been contending for the league.

The manager has to accept responsibility for our failings and the board has to accept responsibility for not applying pressure on the manager when things don't go right. Wenger is not Arsenal, though at the moment he is treated as though without him Arsenal will be no more. Every team wwho are in the top 4 have changed manager, changed tactics and the managers have been under pressure to win.

I could go on but i'm going to support our team.
