Hi Eds hope you are all well. Is there any interest in Thomas Partey as he enters the last year of his contract? Seems we are looking to upgrade him and just wanting to know if he`s aiming to run his contract down. Thanks in advance.

{Ed002's Note - There has been interest from Turkey and the Middle East but he wants to see his contract out. Arsenal want him moved on.}

Thanks Ed002, frustrating for the club I guess but if ( a big if ) he stays fit for the season he is a big asset. Much appreciated COYG.

Hi Eds,

Is there any interest from Arsenal in Joao Felix? I know we tried on loan a while back but I didn't realise Atleti were so keen to sell now.

Thanks!

 0

{Ed002's Note - No. He is close to a move elsewhere.}

Hi Ed002 Hope you are well. Do Arsenal have any interest in Julian Alvarez at City? Not sure they would sell to us but would be a great signing COYG.

{Ed002's Note - There is interest from other clubs, but not Arsenal.}

From the european pages:

Gabriel Magalhaes (CB) Arsenal have rejected an approach from Juventus. PSG may make an approach and Arsenal have been looking at a potential replacement.

William Saliba (CB) Arsenal remain concerned that Saliba will look to move to PSG who remain keen.

Saliba and Magalhaes are our back bone loose them and we are going backwards. I am sure the club and Arteta are aware of this and will do everything they can to hold onto them at least Arteta will do not so sure about the club if a big money offer comes in.

I'm sure we will do our best to keep them, but generally players are free to move if they really want to. Let's hope they stay.

Hi Eds, do Arsenal or any PL clubs have interest in/ scouted Dani Olmo?

Reasonable release clause and looks incredible!

 0

{Ed002's Note - Dani Olmo (AM/W) Could still be sold this summer if a significant offer were to be made that is close to his €60M termination Clause. Atletico, Spurs, Manchester City and Barcelona were interested, although Barcelona have preferred options in Williams and Diaz and need to sell to buy or horse trade - they may be the only interested side left although I would certainly not discount the long term interest of Manchester City. The player is keen to return to Barcelona. Chelsea considered him as a Mason Mount replacement last summer but have preferred options now, but should not be ruled out. Manchester United or Liverpool may offer a wildcard option. Bayern Munich interest has gone due to injury concerns.}

Thanks for the top work Eds - most of us really do appreciate you.

Morning ed002, do Arsenal still have Toney as their first choice striker?

 0

{Ed002's Note - Ivan Toney (S) Brentford do not want to sell but are aware Toney may look to move up a step and will reluctantly look to perhaps £70M as a sale price in the summer - but will likely not get anything close to that. It would be driven by situation which could see him run down his contract next season and leave as a Free Agent - so Brentford will seek a new cantract. Newcastle no longer offer the chance of a return to the club who previously could find no use for him in the three years he was there. Arsenal, Leeds, Manchester United, Spurs, Chelsea and West Ham have all sent scouts on more than one occasion to watch him prior to his ban, but Chelsea and Spurs have preferred options meaning West Ham, Arsenal or Manchester United are likely best placed to complete a transfer, lthough Spurs are struggling to sign their two preferred choices and may turn to him. Was first choice for Arsenal but that has disappeared as the price does not drop to perhaps £40M. Aston Villa are losing Duran and could look to him.}

Great info Ed, thanks. Do Arsenal have a ‘first choice’ forward option? Intrigued to know if we will go for a main striker or a wide forward.

 1

{Ed002's Note - It probably looks like this right now:
Karim Adeyemi (LW/S) Versatile forward who has not regained his form since moving to Dortmund and has been rather inconsistant. Prior interest of Atalanta fhas gone. Offered to Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool but each has preferred options. A wildcard might be Juventus as cover.
Jonathan David (S/AM) Lille, like many French clubs were hit hard by the loss of broadcast revenue and will need to sell some of their more valuable assets even though they do not want to. Jonathan David is valued by Lille at an unrealistic €60M. Napoli and Spurs no longer see him as a possible addition due to his price. Real Madrid have previously declared an interest but their focus has turned away as they wanted to include a player in any deal. He has been recommended to Chelsea by an ex player but the club have preferred targets - although his agent remains very keen on the move and remains in discussions with Chelsea. The Manchester United coach tried to take him to Ajax and could potentially look to taking him to Manchester United but I suspect that option will go if ten Hag departs. Aston Villa or Milan may offer a viable solution but the fee is a huge issue. A wildcard would be Brentford or Arsenal.
Ivan Toney (S) Brentford do not want to sell but are aware Toney may look to move up a step and will reluctantly look to perhaps £70M as a sale price in the summer - but will likely not get anything close to that. It would be driven by situation which could see him run down his contract next season and leave as a Free Agent - so Brentford will seek a new cantract. Newcastle no longer offer the chance of a return to the club who previously could find no use for him in the three years he was there. Arsenal, Leeds, Manchester United, Spurs, Chelsea and West Ham have all sent scouts on more than one occasion to watch him prior to his ban, but Chelsea and Spurs have preferred options meaning West Ham, Arsenal or Manchester United are likely best placed to complete a transfer, lthough Spurs are struggling to sign their two preferred choices and may turn to him. Was first choice for Arsenal but that has disappeared as the price does not drop to perhaps £40M. Aston Villa are losing Duran and could look to him.
Ollie Watkins (S) Agent is looking for options and has spoken with Arsenal.
Victor Osimhen (S) Napoli made it clear to Chelsea who enquired in 2021 that even €100M would not buy the player - but they do maintain an interest and he has been first choice and expect an offer to be made in the summer. Al Hilal may well have offered Napoli the €200M they were looking for, but that may not suit the player just yet. PSG and Real Madrid could look to him as an option but Madrid would want to offer players in exchange. He has signed a new contract and, at the behest of his agent, included a release clause. Arsenal have a preferred option and see the price as too high. There is a suggestion that Liverpool have negotiated directly with the player and his agent and not spoken to Napoli. Given Napoli registered a complaint against Liverpool over another player last year, it would seem unlikely, or particularly stupid. In the players hands next summer - may decide to stay but there will be a return from Michael Emanalo with a very good offer but I understand that Chelsea will inform Napoli that they will pay his €130M release clause in full in the summer.
Dusan Vlahovic (S) Only joined in January 2022 but financial issues that Juventus now have and goalscoring problems will determine that he is sold in the summer – but they will hold out for €70M. Regardless of his loss of form, there will be a lot of interest if he is and his agent has approached Manchester United, Chelsea and PSG. Real Madrid are also keen but, like Chelsea, have preferred targets. Chelsea were open to an exchange of players last summer but right now there is no push as his wage demands are seen as excessive and they will look to other targets first. PSG have him as a possible Mbappe replacement - but not first choice - but don't lose sight of them. As a wildcard, Arsenal may rekindle interest but would likely want to include players in any deal. Juventus have already drawn up a list of potential replacements and are working on those but a new contract on lower terms might suit them best.
Viktor Gyokeres (S) After only joining last summer Sporting have no interest in selling but fear a club could simply pay his €100M buy out clause in full and try to persuade him to move. Sporting fear Chelasea may do that and have avoided the subject during discussions over another player and a separate issue - and Chelsea has a preferred option. He has attracted scouts representing Manchester United, Spurs and Arsenal with Arsenal seeing him as an option to Toney. Spurs may offer a wildcard option but have a preferred option to effectively replace Kane which they failed to do last summer. Sporting are looking to a new contract and an increase in his buy-out clause. Injury will keep him out to probably mid to late July or so. Will likely stay.
Serhou Guirassy (S) No.
Benjamin Sesko (S/F) No.
Joshua Zirkzee (S) No.
Borja Mayora (S) No.
Artem Dovbyk (S) No.
Victor Boniface (S) No.
Karim Benzema (S) No.
Alexander Isak (S) No.}

Afternoon Ed, please can you tell us the latest on Eze? Which clubs are looking at him? Cheers.

 0

{Ed002's Note - Eberechi Eze (AM/LW) Crystal Palace have no intention of selling the player who struggled until he was at QPR and is now excelling at Palace. Previous enquiries from Spurs and Newcastle were turned away but I expect Spurs will return with an offer that will match his release clause. Chelsea do remain keen but would need to provide assurances of a starting role as an AM player and that will prove to be an issue and that will discount them. Arsenal have sent scouts on a few occasions but have preferred targets and dwindling space in the squad. A wildcard may be one of the Manchester clubs.}

Hi ed002, rumours of a German player coming in? Any idea who it could be?

 0

{Ed002's Note - Twitter I assume. There is no agreement for Arsenal to sign a German player at this time.}

05 Jul 2024 19:01:02
Jens Lehmann as third choice keeper.

 2

07 Jul 2024 10:00:09
Wrong, it is Per Mertesacker.

 0

08 Jul 2024 06:25:11
Both wrong, its Stefan Malz or Alberto Mendez.

Evening Ed, are we considering Riccardo Calafiori?

 0

{Ed002's Note - Riccardo Calafiori (CB/LB) Bayer Leverkusen and Chelsea have a declared interest but he is not first choice for either although Chelsea may well look to two additions and push for the player. Newcastle interest has gone. Spurs, Bayern Munich and Brighton have sent scouts but Juventus has held a number of discussions with Bologna and are offering cash and a part exchange. They will also have an edge because of Motta although Bologna have now secured CL football they insist they do not need to sell their prime assets. A wildcard may be Real Madrid. Liverpool have shown no interest that I am aware of and have very specific targets of their own.}

There’s always an Italian player linked every year for inflated prices then goes to Juventus for 25m haha.

{Ed014's Note - that and Chelsea buying anything that moves! 😂

03 Jul 2024 15:49:14
Looks like he’s on his way to the Arsenal.

I wonder will the chavs buy my mrs, I only asked her to cut the grass and clean the windows and she blew a gasket.

{Ed014's Note - quite likely mate no doubt for in excess of £50 million too!

Their team is much younger now though. They don't need medical staff with experience caring for geriatrics.

05 Jul 2024 22:28:51
Based solely off youtube videos he looks strong but slow.
More dog than cat. Carries well.

Will plug the left back hole and provide competition/ rotation for Gabriel.

Likely makes Kiwior surplus to requirement.

 0

06 Jul 2024 18:49:37
I thought Kiwior showed well whenever he played. Would be a shame to lose him.

 2

09 Jul 2024 03:19:30
Agreed Sharpey but I think the team is at the stage now where anyone not immediately trying to usurp Gabriel (or Timber) is probably going to be moved on. Kiwior is a good deputy but it seems like Arteta doesn't see him as a viable alternative yet. I imagine it's a bit like Pep playing 4 CBs in constant rotation, with Stones, Diaz, Ake Akanji all a good bet to play any given game.
