Palace parked the bus and it was difficult to break them down.

The second half showed we still couldn't break them down.

Tip tapping about as though we are Barcelona from yesteryear.

Until we change our style with VG in the team we can kiss goodbye to the PL. That's not to say we can't win the CL as we play as it's a different style but weaker PL teams have us sussed out.

Banbury mate, when palace parked the bus in the first half we couldn't break them, in the second half they opened the game and we started to male mistake after another instead of taking advantage of the open spaces. So we have to stop moaning about team parking the bus as we ain't doing better when teams play hi up the pitch and press us.

Hi Moe other teams are entitled to play how they like, its not their job to make our jobs easy or to keep us happy, that's down to us.

We have absolutely no control over what other teams do or how many goals Haaland or anyone else scores, our fate is in our own hands and we have to take responsibility for ourselves and stop worrying about who else does or doesn't do what.

Moe I have no problem with them parking the bus, I was highlighting we weren't much better when the game became open.

I think the BIG lesson though is. do not give away stupid free kicks in dangerous positions, we paid the price at the time but eventually went through.

I just have a real problem with us upfront and others should have, it's a big concern, it's daft to think otherwise IMO.

I think you guys misunderstood my posts. I was critical of our way of playing whether the opponent park the bus or open the game and have a go at us. We always seem slow in the build up and not take advantage of either play.
Sorry, I probably didn't pass my message probably.

Can't disagree with that Moe, we are far too slow aren't we.

I think we did as much as we could in the first half if I'm honest and met a keeper in good form but still didn't move it fast enough.

Second half was a disaster IMO.

So many quality players yet so few quality moments in so many games.

Ive no idea why this should be the case, we rely on corners to score goals more than any other team in the league and because of our lack goals from open play we end up relying on our excellent defence to be competitive.

Just an observation of the way things are so often, and I haven't got a clue why given the abundance of quality running through the squad.

It's the finishing G62, we just aren't clinical at all. Today I thought the game plan was spot on over the first half, but when it came to putting our chances away everything has been tamely side footed at the keeper.

I've also noticed players failing to spot good runs lately, Timber or Gyökeres will be through and nobody spots them.

Qe had an excuse that teams were parking the bus and its sometimes hard to break them down, put we've been getting pressed and when we get the ball we look like we've got nothing in our locker. Keeping the ball for way too long and passing bloddy backwards all the time when you have players make great runs.

Its like they are scared to play that pass and they op to just keep the ball roling.
Tonight only martinelle came to play and I hope he's not injured.

Hi Wire and Moe, to me it seems Arteta is as frustrated and mystified as the rest of us as to why we struggle to score from open play.

Obviously it's Arteta problem to solve but I genuinely don't believe its anything he's
doing that's causing such a talented team to stugle so badly to create and convert quality chances. We are in a brilliant position and absolutely everything is still possible for us this season but bugger we do seem to be making every game difficult for ourselves.

{Ed025's Note - all a bit too tippy tappy for me G62, you have so much more in your locker but it seems its all about not losing rather than winning and possession based football, its not just Arsenal though mate most of the teams have become quite boring to watch and there seems more of an emphasis on set pieces and long throws which is taking us back to Wimbledon based football imo, i probably sound like an old codger but there is a definite lack of characters in the game now and its more about athletes, unfortunately i dont think we will be seeing teams like the invincibles any time soon my friend...all the best..

Agree G62, there is only so much the manager can do when it comes to the tactics. My feeling is that the players are worried about not winning the league and are letting it give them the yips.

Hi Ed025 mate, there are possibly many reasons why football has become more sterile and loss adverse. Managers get sacked far more quickly and easily now days and things like drinking after games, eating mars bars, burgers and the like are absolutely throwned upon where as back in the day footballers were everyday people who just happened to have a brilliant job.

Its all become a little too scientific and a lot less natural in my opinion mate.

I totaly agree that the pressure to not lose the title is playing on the players minds Wire mate, Arteta doesn't seem to be passing on his own pressure to the players it seems to be something they have collective taken on as a group.

I think pretty much everyone be them pro or anti Arteta accepts we have to land the Premier league title or the champions league trophy (ideally both 🤞) or it will be time for Mikel and ourselves for better or worse to go our separate ways.

Mikel has got us to a wonderful place but the nature of the industry demands that something physical rather than opinionated has to be shown. Obviously the league or FA cup would satisfy some but i'm not sure either or both of those would be enough without one of the big two trophies to go with them


As things stand we are ahead of the pack in both big prizes races so there is much more to he happy about than worried about.

I while back we were a lot more confident, we are having a bad patch I think. Have big Gabi out made us a little worried now days. Anything but the premier league big prize is a failure.
This must be the year or thank you Mr Arteta for putting us in this position but now we must look a lot higher.


And to be honest, Ode is really starting to worry me. He should be the engine, the creator, making things happen. He should be the one feeding VG.

I personally think we are better without Ode than we are with him. He's got his attributes no question but either he has lost what he once had or we have simply evolved beyond Odes capacity to keep up. Eze! Noni and even Martinelli and Trossard are more effective options in my opinion.

I think we have to be realistic. With Haarland firing on all cylinders we are at a definite disadvantage.
Is that on Arteta? Or did City just get probably one of the best strikers, not forgetting Donnerummer.

I know it's a results business, but if we finished 2nd on 99 points would it really be so clear cut?

I agree with you SW but I'm not sure the majority of fans would . Football is a very emotionally driven business apposed to thought through and reasoned business. Fans always think decisions given against their team are wrong decisions for their teams are correct. Ifs just the way it is with sports.

Hi Sal, halland always firing, the issue is with us, arteta needs to acknowledge it while its in our hands. Our defence starts to look a bit shaky our midfielders not creating much for our strikers, we always depends on saka to do something.


Did you see that good pass from Saliba to VG, we need more of that and Did you see the awful pass from ode to VG which took him wide instead of putting him in a shooting position.
Also, our wingers start too look more selfish IMO.
