Hello everyone Hope we are all well and giving it the big un when you go out with your Arsenal shirt on, because I am lol.
Serious note to the Eds and posters, what are your views on spygate, me personally I think the punishment is well over the top.

{Ed014's Note - it does seem harsh to me too Bill and the FA are now having a go so the manager may get a ban.

Stupid thing to do but the better team won the semi final.

It is over the top, and there is no real advantage by it, so it is also a silly thing to do. Spying is rife in some sort or other in every profession, and if teams are devising some secret strategy, they should do it behind closed doors.

And Middlesborough were eliminated, so they shouldn't get a second chance in the final. Hull should have been promoted automatically.

Thanks for these round ups. Hope they continue for next season.

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, I will keep doing them so long as people want to read them.}

23 May 2026 21:25:49
Yes please, I enjoy reading them ed001. Thank you 😊

{Ed001's Note - thank you Sally!}

24 May 2026 09:05:57
I'm definitely another that would like to see this continued. And a MASSIVE thank you to you Ed001 for putting them out all season. It's really appreciated.

{Ed001's Note - cheers Sharpie. It was a great idea of yours, hate to admit that but it was!}

24 May 2026 11:51:11
Sod the idea, mate; you're executing it brilliantly. Love reading these editorials. All the kudos belongs to you. 👍👍👍

{Ed001's Note - Ed2 used to occasionally pick out a post of the day, I think this might be post of the month....

Seriously, thank you. It genuinely made me blush.}

24 May 2026 13:33:36
Ed2 once gave me a post of the day. I was new back then and didn't understand the significance.

But mate, I'm glad to have brought out the young girl in you. Hahaha

We are Mal until next May at least! Also, can I just say, Fernandes as player of the year over Rice is a national scandal! Rice has played 54 games (many twice a week) , while Fernandes is totally fresh, playing once a week.

How much better would Rice be if he could rest and just train all week. He can have the assist trophy. Rice should 100% be player of the year, plus the Prem and possibly CL. No brainer for me COYG.

23 May 2026 14:15:40
Fernandes won it - public vote plus experts! Tony Adams on Strictly, and Boaty McBoatface springs to mind! Poor, poor decision. COYG
#justiceforDeclanOrRayaScandalous.

{Ed014's Note - I think I read only 8 of his assists were from open play too.

Shocker of a decision, they’ll give Carrick manager of the year next!

23 May 2026 14:40:34
Disgraceful. 😡

23 May 2026 14:28:40
If that's true Ed14 it's an even worse decision. Can't stand him but Humbland at least scored a bucketful. Poor role model on the pitch too. Like Henchoz's handball and Rooney's 49 game unbeaten run dive I've got to let it go. That's healthy - but I won't 🤣COYG

{Ed014's Note - I’ve googled it and some suggest 12 from open play, unlike Henry’s 18 and KDB’s 17.

Like you say an odious bloke and and a pi55 poor role model.

23 May 2026 15:40:23
Like you, Sussex, Henchoz, Rooney, not to mention Eto being offside 2006 CL. Bitter, who, me. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

23 May 2026 16:25:47
Me, Billy, I've let it go - well, for today anyway. The sun is out. Mrs Sussex is bringing me many Guinness's (I'm making her her Pimms) . North London Forever set as my ringtone.

The sky is blue, the sun is shining, and all is fine in sunny Sussex, and BBQ for later. We are the champions set as my alarm call too. 🤣 Enjoy it, it's been 22 years. 👀 ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️ COYG.

23 May 2026 16:35:15
Hey 14, you ok?

{Ed014's Note - yes all good thanks Mal, and you, eased off on the celebrations yet?

Was told today that Chitties 2 cups were better than the league. If I've heard it once, I've heard it 115 times.

24 May 2026 07:52:21
All OK Ed not Really been drinking lately but I'm still on top of the world

{Ed014's Note - ah that’s good mate, I’m sure sharpie and sparky are drinking enough for all of us and glad to hear it.

Going to be so good to watch the boys get the trophy later!

22 May 2026 16:42:20
I just love our boss.
He didn't watch the City game but instead was at home with his family preparing a BBQ. He found out we were champions when his little lad told him. ❤️

Managed to get ticket for screening at Emirates.
My mate got 2 through a ticket agency.
Between us we had 4 red members but didn't get any.
The official ticket site crashed yesterday as soon as it went live, but as I said he has managed to get them through agency.

Came across a Wenger video where he opened up on his second half of the tenure. He said he had at least 5 offers but rejected them as he genuinely thought that Arsenal is a club of class. After 2007, when Dein left, the banks wanted Wenger to sign longer contract as a guarantee against the loans for stadium, and it was mandatory for us to qualify for the CL every year to cover the 22 million loan repayments. He said then Chelsea and Man City came in with their money, and we had to sell our best players and it was hard to compete.

Football is about winning, and us fans just want to see the trophies. However, knowing these things only makes us more appreciative of the effort and sacrifices the people at the club put in. Watching this video after we had won the title helped me look at the situation differently. Had we lost, I would have been ranting.
But I am proud to be supporting Arsenal and with the shackles now off, I am sure we will achieve great things.
Thank you, Arsenal!

Good God! Bitter to the very end.

22 May 2026 17:00:30
Doesn't realise, Jim, or care that the bitterness just makes it all the sweeter. All the gip we had to endure over the last few years. If you can't take it, don't dish it out.

Probably one of those wanting a sock or Kleenex once they'd signed Isak. Very, very strange banter at best.
Cry me a river, build me a bridge, and fecking get over it.
Classless.
COYG.

{Ed014's Note - we all know why they won last year and this years pathetic showing just confirms that.

22 May 2026 17:34:36
Absolutely 💯 % spot on Sussex, mate.

21 May 2026 16:35:54
All tickets for the screening have sold out.
The ticket sight actually crashed due to the demand by red members.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to get one, so it's in front of the telly with several several beers.

Are there any fan parks around the stadium?

21 May 2026 17:59:29
Not sure Highbury, mate, but I think there be thousands around the stadium, especially on the concourse.

21 May 2026 15:40:27
I've spent a few days coming down from Tuesday's news. It has been a wild ride and I've been thinking of all sorts of ups and downs. Mad Jens getting sent off in Paris, Arshavin's 4 goals at Anfield and us still drawing, Eboue being subbed on and off (I still love him) , the hopelessness of finishing second in 2016 and the doldrums that came after, Emery to Ljungberg to Arteta and a quiet feeling of hopefulness growing over the past few seasons.

Particularly, I remember on August 28, 2011, I had just moved to Hong Kong, and went to the pub to watch us play Man U. I wound up inadvertently at a Spurs supporters' pub. We lost 8-2. By the end of that game, the Spurs fans were actually comforting me, telling me it would be ok. We signed Arteta three days later, though things weren't ok for a long while after that. But it's great now.

It has been a wild ride, and I have been grateful to have been on it with you lot. I'm feeling confident ahead of Budapest. But mostly, I'm proud of the lads and just so, so happy.

COYG.

Wonderful post, Alex, just laying it out there, how you felt. Imo during them barren years we did come close on 2 or 3 occasions. I think the Birmingham game, when Eduardo broke his leg, convinced we would have won it that year. Then the season when we lost the first game of the season at home to Villa and everyone was screaming to sack Arsene, and we were top by Christmas, then Ramsey and Theo got injured and we faded away, but we did win FA Cup. Then the season Leicester won it, and I think that was Arsene's last chance to win it. I am nearly 70, so I have memories of Bertie Mee, Fairs Cup win and the double, then Terry Neil's Cup finals team, then George Graham, then the Wenger years, but a lot of young Gooners have not got them memories and they have taken a lot of stick from other teams' supporters and the media, but they have stayed loyal, especially the away support, which is magnificent, so I am so made up for them.

Like you, I am confident about CL in a strange and calm way. Mikel has had his detractors and I have rinsed him on a few occasions on this site, but he made a conscious decision imo this season to play like we have this season and not the free flowing football of previous seasons to make sure we get over the line, and that alone, to stick to that when the whole world and his dog was giving it to him big time, deserves to be rewarded. He clearly loves being manager of our club.
Anyway, take care Alex, mate, and everyone else also.
COYG. ❤️ ❤️

Great post, both of you. I am a younger gooner, so I only know Wenger and the recent days. After we sacked Emery, I was convinced that we would fade away, and I was unsure how long it would take us to be back in the mix. In that period, Spurs were challenging for the title, went into the final of the Champions League, and suddenly it felt even darker and bleaker. We won the FA Cup with Arteta, but the last few seasons, when we were the 'nearly team', again dented the confidence.

But, what a turn around this season. Not only have we got the monkey off the back, but it has given us confidence that we can win the CL. Whatever the result next week, with continuity and a few additions, we can definitely dominate the near future. Up the Arsenal! COYG!
